Former WWE star Layla is stepping in to stop an unfounded rumor from spreading after the debut episode of her new podcast sparked speculation that pointed at the wrong person.
On the first episode of “LayTalk,” Layla hosted Barbie Blank (Kelly Kelly) and the two discussed their time in WWE together. During the conversation, Layla recalled an incident where another woman backstage delivered a real, unprofessional punch to Blank. Both women made clear they knew exactly who was responsible, but neither named the person on air.
That omission led fans online to fill in the blank themselves, with many assuming the culprit was Maria Kanellis-Bennett, apparently based on perceived past tension between her and Blank.
Layla moved quickly to shut that down, posting on social media that the story discussed on the podcast had nothing to do with Kanellis, and that she didn’t want her catching unwarranted backlash for something she wasn’t involved in.
Despite the clarification, some fans in the comments continued insisting Kanellis was the one responsible, despite no evidence supporting that claim. The actual identity of the woman involved in the original incident remains unrevealed.
