Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon's nomination for Secretary of Education has moved to a final Senate confirmation vote following a 12-11 party-line approval from the Senate HELP Committee. McMahon, who previously led the Small Business Administration (2017-2019), was selected by President Trump to head the Department of Education.

During her confirmation hearings, McMahon addressed Trump's criticism of the department, acknowledging that its abolishment would require congressional approval.
