The man found not guilty by reason of insanity for stalking WWE star Liv Morgan is not walking free. Shawn Chan remains incarcerated in Hernando County, Florida, and a judge has ordered U.S. Marshals to hand him over to ICE custody for deportation to Canada.
The clarification comes after confusion spread about Chan’s status following the verdict. While he was indeed found not guilty by reason of insanity on the charge related to allegedly stalking Liv Morgan (Gionna Daddio), that ruling did not result in his release.
Chan was arrested outside the WWE Performance Center in June 2025. A U.S. judge in the Middle District of Florida ruled on the case earlier this week.
Liv Morgan Stalker Case Update
According to PWInsider, Chan remains behind bars and will not be released because he is a Canadian citizen.
The judge presiding over the case ordered United States Marshals to facilitate Chan’s transfer into ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) custody. Once that transfer is complete, Chan is set to be deported back to Canada.
The verdict itself had already been reported, but the latest update corrects the impression that Chan would walk free following the not-guilty ruling.
