Mercedes Moné’s bond with Bayley runs deeper than any storyline speculation, and she made that clear in a new interview touching on their history together.

Speaking with the Daily Star, Moné reflected on the pair’s long-running friendship, one that’s persisted even though the two haven’t worked for the same company since 2022. She described Bayley as her best friend in wrestling, pointing to how often each has shown up to support the other’s matches over the years, even sitting incognito in the crowd at times just to be there.

Everybody knows that Pam is my best friend in wrestling. There has been many matches that I’ve been to, and she’s been to many of my matches to support me. When you have people like that in your life, they show up for important things in theirs.

According to Moné, that kind of loyalty deserves support in return, and she credited Bayley as an essential figure in shaping the current era of women’s wrestling.

I love being in disguise and hiding. I’m always going to support her. She’s the best. We wouldn’t have this beautiful generation of women’s wrestling if she wasn’t part of it. When you have people like that in the world, you have to support them,” she said.

Possibility Of Facing Bayley

Asked directly whether the two might ever share the ring again, Moné didn’t rule it out, calling another match with Bayley a genuine dream scenario.

She pointed back to their iconic NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn match as one of the defining moments that helped reshape how women’s wrestling is perceived, and made clear that revisiting that chemistry one more time remains high on her wish list, even without knowing if or when it might happen.

You never know in wrestling. That’s always a dream match for me, to have another match with her. She is one of my greatest opponents of all-time. Everybody knows one of our greatest matches together, Brooklyn, that’s really changed the way people have viewed women’s wrestling. It’s always a dream match for me. You never know.

The comments arrive at an interesting moment for Bayley, who has been off WWE television since losing to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Her future with the company remains unclear, with reports indicating her contract is set to expire sometime in 2026 — timing that’s only added fuel to recent speculation about a possible move elsewhere.
