Monica Monroe is the new WWE ID Women’s Champion. Monroe beat Laynie Luck on Saturday at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling in Texas City, Texas, and the win came with a WWE ID contract.
WWE ID announced the result on X, thanking Luck for “23 successful title defenses across the indies.” Monroe, who also works as Lady Bird Monroe, posted her own reaction and set a target for herself: “I’ve got a 300+ day reign to beat.”
That’s a high bar. Luck won the vacant title in November 2025 in a six-way elimination match at Wrestling Open RI in Cranston, Rhode Island, after Kylie Rae vacated it. Her reign ran more than 320 days, the longest in the title’s short history and far past Rae’s 52 days as the inaugural champion.
Luck also worked WWE Evolve during that run, challenging Nikkita Lyons for the Evolve Women’s Championship on the July 22 episode.
Monroe has wrestled since May 2021 and holds the ROW Women’s Championship. She has also appeared for AEW and Ring of Honor. She becomes the third woman to hold the WWE ID Women’s Championship, after Rae and Luck.
WWE introduced the men’s and women’s ID titles in February 2025 as a way to bring independent wrestlers into the program, and a non-WWE ID wrestler who wins either title receives a contract. ROW was among the partner promotions confirmed when the titles launched.
Booker T also presented Josiah Jean with a WWE ID contract at the same show, according to WWE ID.
