Becky Lynch’s return promo went out live on Monday. One line did not survive the replay.
Lynch returned on the August 3rd episode of Raw to interrupt Liv Morgan, Roxanne Perez, and Raquel Rodriguez, announcing that she was coming for the Women’s World Championship. As Judgment Day left the ring, she worked through them one by one.
You’re not even the greatest women’s champion in your own group! Hell, you’re not even the greatest women’s champion that slept with Dominik Mysterio!
The second half is a reference to Rhea Ripley, whose on-screen relationship with Mysterio predated Morgan’s. It aired as broadcast. It is not in the Netflix replay.
WWE has not commented, and Netflix has not explained the edit.
It is the third time in recent months the platform has altered a WWE broadcast after the fact. At Night of Champions, Bron Breakker’s face was blurred in the replay after he was cut open in his match with Seth Rollins. Last month, Brock Lesnar’s shirt reading “talk —- get hit” was censored on the Raw replay.
The pattern is inconsistent enough to be worth noting. Blood and profanity are obvious targets for a platform with its own content standards. A storyline reference to two characters’ romantic history is a different category, and WWE cleared it for air in the first place.
Lynch is now one of two challengers circling Morgan. Stephanie Vaquer returned in the same segment and put Morgan down, and she has her own claim, having lost the title to her at WrestleMania 42.
