Pat McAfee is threatening legal action after being accused of using racial slurs, though details of the original accusation remain limited.
The claim surfaced following McAfee’s appearance alongside Donald Trump at the 2026 Patriot Games in Ohio, an appearance that had already drawn significant criticism given McAfee’s frequent claims that he keeps politics separate from his sports commentary.
McAfee addressed the accusation directly on X, calling it grotesque and saying he considers it potentially lawsuit-worthy, adding that he’d have his legal team look into the matter.
He pivoted from the topic almost immediately in the same post to promote his upcoming album, “The Diary Of A Polarizing Figure,” set to release Friday.
The accusation adds to a rockier stretch publicly for McAfee, who was previously forced to apologize after spending time on his show pushing inaccurate claims about boxer Imane Khelif’s gender, despite Khelif being a biological woman who has identified as such throughout her life.
McAfee officially wrapped up his time with WWE at WrestleMania 42 in April and has said he doesn’t intend to return to a professional wrestling setting going forward.
