Paul Heyman Refused To Pay $533 And Walked Out Of Flight Club

ByAndrew RavensProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Paul Heyman went on the internet’s biggest sneaker show and left without buying a single pair.

The Wiseman appeared on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping at Flight Club in New York, and he set the tone with host Joe La Puma before the episode had really gotten going.

Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman. I serve as the advocate for the beast, Brock Lesnar. I’m here to meet Joe Nike, Joe Adidas, Joe La Puma, whatever his name is, to do sneaker shopping. I don’t even like sneakers.

A $533 Price Tag Ended The Episode

The show’s whole premise is that the guest buys a pair before the credits roll. Heyman took one look at the number and tapped out.

$533 for a pair of sneakers? You know what? My son has enough sneakers as it is, and my daughter… don’t even get me started on how much footwear she has. I’m good. Nice to meet you. Next time I got to go.

Before that, he floated an alternate itinerary entirely.

Why don’t you just take me underwear shopping? I don’t wear underwear either. I go commando. So just take me underwear shopping. It’s the same as taking me sneaker shopping, I don’t wear either one of them.

He also brought up an off-camera run-in with Complex staff at a Korean barbecue spot that, in his telling, ended exactly how you’d expect.

Your dinner was comped. You got hustled. Nothing complex about that. Paul Heyman G move.

The appearance came days out from a two-night SummerSlam card where his client, Brock Lesnar, meets Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell.
