A last-minute change allowed Penta to qualify for the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
The next MITB qualifier originally called for Solo Sikoa to face Dragon Lee and The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio in a triple threat on WWE Raw. Sikoa never made it out to the ring, however, as 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price) attacked and kidnapped him backstage. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce subsequently named Penta as his replacement.
The final moments of the Lee-Mysterio-Penta match saw Mysterio hit two of the Three Amigos before Lee broke away from him. Lee and Penta then traded strikes and kicks in the center of the ring, with the latter eventually landing a hurricanrana. When Lee ascended to the top rope, Mysterio immediately pushed him back down. The Judgment Day member then sought a Frog Splash, only to be denied by Penta’s well-timed knees.
From there, Mysterio walked into a Styles Clash that resulted in Penta breaking up Lee’s pinfall attempt on him. Penta knocked Lee off the apron with a Mexican Destroyer, but found himself on the receiving end of a 619 and a Frog Splash right after. The latter earned Mysterio a near fall. Frustrated that it didn’t keep Penta down for a full three count, Mysterio then tore off the top turnbuckle pad to expose the steel underneath. This move ultimately backfired as Penta drove him into it instead and followed with a springboard Mexican Destroyer for the win.
The Money in the Bank PLE will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 10. With his win tonight, Penta will join Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, and more entrants TBD in the men’s MITB ladder match.
Earlier in the show, Roxanne Perez secured her spot in the women’s iteration by pinning “The Genius of the Sky” IYO SKY in another triple threat.
