Penta is Mr. Money in the Bank.
Penta won the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. He beat Bron Breakker, CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans. The briefcase gives him a world title shot of his choosing anytime in the next year.
The win comes less than a month after Penta came up short against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw in Mexico City. Breakker entered as the betting favorite.
Penta hit a dive to the floor early. He spent much of the match favoring his leg, with the announcers suggesting a hamstring issue. Breakker threw Punk into a ladder and later hit a double German suplex on Punk and Penta.
Owens hit Breakker with a cannonball in the corner before Penta caught him with a kick to the head. Punk drove a ladder into Penta’s chest. Breakker ran the barricade and leaped off an announce table to clothesline Williams. Owens dumped Breakker off the table and hit Punk in the head with a monitor.
Several wrestlers ended up near the timekeeper’s area. Breakker speared Evans into the barricade. Evans was taken out on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.
Lil Yachty, who helped Williams win the United States Championship last month, then ran in and climbed a ladder. Owens pulled him down and hit him with a Stunner. Punk later hit Penta with the GTS, and Owens raked Punk’s eyes as the two fought for the briefcase.
Breakker took over with a string of spears. He hit Punk, Owens, Penta and Williams, then speared Owens and Punk through the barricade.
Evans then drove the ambulance back into the arena and attacked Breakker. He set up a massive ladder and started to climb, but Breakker pushed him over. Evans crashed through the ambulance roof.
Penta finished it with a Mexican Destroyer that drove Breakker onto a ladder bridge. He then climbed up and pulled down the briefcase.
