WWE Star Addresses ‘Weird’ Career Ride During Rare Appearance

ByAnutosh BajpaiProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Pete Dunne is determined to prove that he is still one of the best wrestlers in the world.

The former NXT UK Champion recently made a rare indie appearance under his own name for Attack Pro Wrestling in Cardiff, Wales, this Friday. After his match, the WWE star got on the mic and addressed the recent ups and downs of his career.

The 32-year-old thanked the fans for sticking with him despite the ‘weird ride’ his career has been. Pete Dunne claimed that he is determined to prove that he is one of the best wrestlers in the whole world anytime he gets the chance:

I know my career in the last few years has been ups and downs. It’s been a weird ride. But I just want to thank you all for sticking with me. No matter what happens, I promise one thing — any time I’m given a chance to step in this ring, between these ropes, I’m going to prove to you all that I’m still one of the best wrestlers in the whole world.

The former champion also offered some praise to his opponent, Leon Cage, after beating him. He promised that British Wrestling will rise again because of people like Cage.

Pete Dunne has been featured regularly on various WWE shows since being rebranded as Rayo Americano in July last year. He has not wrestled under the Pete Dunne moniker on WWE programming since May 2025, but he has made occasional indie appearances under his real name.
