Roman Reigns’ position in WWE appears to be changing behind the scenes, and the latest update makes the collapse of The Bloodline even more significant.
According to False Finish, Reigns is currently slotted as a villain atop the active roster. That detail comes immediately after the events of the August 17 episode of RAW, where Roman’s attempt to maintain control over his family completely unraveled.
Roman began the closing segment by asserting his authority over Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. When Fatu attacked Solo on Roman’s orders, Roman repeatedly called him off and made it clear that he was the one in charge.
Then Roman rewarded Jimmy and Jey Uso, presenting them with Ula Fala necklaces and calling them his “made men.” While the Usos celebrated with Roman, Fatu was left standing to the side without receiving anything. His reaction suggested that he wasn’t exactly pleased with how the situation was unfolding.
Things became even more chaotic when LA Knight interrupted.
Roman had The Usos restrain Knight and then ordered Solo to attack him. Solo appeared ready to obey, but instead turned around and hit Roman with a Samoan Spike.
Knight then joined Solo, and when Roman tried to fight back with a Superman Punch, Knight countered and planted him with the BFT.
But there was another important detail happening in the background.
Jacob Fatu watched the entire beatdown and did absolutely nothing.
He didn’t help Roman. He didn’t help the Usos. Eventually, Fatu simply walked away while Roman regrouped with Jimmy and Jey.
And that’s why the reported heel designation matters. WWE doesn’t appear to be presenting Roman as a babyface who has simply become too controlling while trying to keep his family together. He is apparently being positioned as the antagonist, while the people closest to him are increasingly refusing to follow his leadership
Solo has now openly betrayed him, while Fatu’s decision to stand aside could signal that another major fracture is coming.
Roman may still be the Tribal Chief, but RAW made one thing increasingly clear:
His family isn’t necessarily willing to follow him anymore.
