Santos Escobar says his return to the open market is nearly here.
The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion recently indicated that he is just 10 days away from becoming a free agent, teasing that his next chapter is close.
At the end of this 10 days, let’s see what destiny has for us.
Escobar was among a wave of talent released by WWE this past April, a cut that came while he was recovering from surgery to repair a torn triceps. Under the standard 90-day non-compete window, he is set to be free to sign or appear anywhere once that period lapses later this month. It caps a wild stretch for the Legado del Fantasma leader. He briefly hit free agency in October 2025 before re-signing with WWE for a raise, only to be routed to AAA and left off the company’s main-roster television. Fightful Select has reported that a return to CMLL in Mexico is a possibility, a path that could also open the door to AEW appearances.
For now, Escobar is letting the countdown play out before revealing his next move.
