Seth Rollins recently stepped outside the WWE ring to support a serious cause, teaming up with former NFL linebacker Manti Te’o for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in a video shared by Good Morning Football.
The duo took part in support of Chris Johnson and the fight against ALS. Te’o opened the video by explaining why they were there and thanking Johnson for his strength, according to Good Morning Football.
What’s up, everybody? It’s Manti Te’o from Good Morning Football, and I also have my brother, Seth Freakin’ Rollins. We are here to do the Ice Bucket Challenge on behalf of Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson, we love you. Thank you for your strength. Thank you for your example, and we hope this helps just a little bit,” Te’o said.
Before doing the challenge, Te’o and Rollins had to pick the next person for the challenge. Te’o asked if he had somebody, Rollins answered immediately, “I do.”
Te’o then asked whether they were thinking of the same person, and Rollins confirmed it:
I think it might be the same person. I think it is. Kyle Brandt.
Kyle, you’re up, bro. Okay, let’s do this, shall we? We love you,” Te’o added before the pair took the plunge.
The moment showed a different side of Rollins away from WWE television, using his platform to back a cause that continues to affect families around the world. Whether Brandt accepts the challenge and keeps it going remains to be seen.
