Seth Rollins Reveals Immediate Reaction To Crown Jewel Injury

ByAnutosh BajpaiProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Seth Rollins has revealed what was going through his mind at Crown Jewel.

The Architect suffered a shoulder injury while facing Cody Rhodes at the WWE PLE from Perth in October this year. Though he managed to finish the match in the end. Seth defeated Cody by using the wristwatch Rhodes had gifted him, to his advantage.

During a recent appearance on the Games with Names podcast, Seth Rollins opened up about the bout and his injury. The former World Champion confirmed the spot where he got hurt and noted that his first thought was to finish the match:

“I did what we call a coast-to-coast headbutt. In the landing, I didn’t stick it. I did not stick the landing. I rotated a bit to my left, landed hard on my left elbow, and jolted it up into my shoulder. Felt it go right away. I was like, ‘Oh, we got a lot left to do in this match. How much can I do? Can I do it? Should I go in a different direction with the finish? What should we do?’\”

Seth Rollins mentioned that he was lucky that he didn\’t have to pick Cody up for anything after this spot so they were able to go through the bout. He did take a Cross-Rhodes from the top rope, which was pretty scary, but he doesn\’t think he did any more damage to his shoulder with that spot.

The former Vision leader let the referee know about the injury but decided not to change anything in the bout. Despite the adrenaline, however, it wasn\’t an easy thing to continue the match and Seth noted how it was very hard for him to get through it:

\”It was hard for me to raise him. If you watch it back, [the arm] is dangling at my side. I can’t throw punches or forearms correctly. It was hard to do what I needed to get done. It was really tender and it was starting to get worse as the match was going on. Is it stupidity or courageousness? I don’t know. Where is the line? My mindset is to finish.”

The wrestling veteran also noted that he had surgery two weeks ago and he is looking at a six-month recovery period. This means Seth Rollins will be out of action until WrestleMania 42, and he could even miss the show of shows next year.
