Seth Rollins WWE Return Hits Unexpected Delay

Seth Rollins’ break from WWE television was supposed to be short-lived. Instead, it’s now stretched well past a month with no clear end in sight.

During a September 7 Q&A, WrestleVotes addressed Rollins’ status and admitted the situation has evolved from what was originally expected. What was initially described as a brief absence has now hit five weeks, with a sixth about to begin. It is noted that his “absence wasn’t supposed to be prolonged.”

WrestleVotes also noted that Rollins’ name simply hasn’t been coming up much in recent conversations, though the expectation remains that he’ll be back on television relatively soon, barring anything changing behind the scenes. However, he was mentioned on the latest edition of WWE Raw.

This marks a shift from the original explanation given back on August 24, when WrestleVotes described the absence as a creative decision rather than an injury and suggested it wouldn’t last particularly long.

Rollins hasn’t been seen since losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the SummerSlam Night Two main event on August 2, a match that saw him land multiple Pedigrees and Stomps before ultimately falling to a series of Spears.

With no firm date attached and Rollins’ name reportedly fading from backstage chatter, his eventual return remains something of an open question, even if “soon” is still the working expectation.
