Sheamus has been in the spotlight recently, ever since reports emerged of his WWE departure. Now, the Celtic Warrior has confirmed his exit with his latest message on social media.
The former WWE Champion took to his X to share a heartbreaking message. He used his popular catchphrase ‘Banger after Banger’ and said goodbye to his friends in the Stamford-based promotion, writing in his native language. He wrote:
Goodbye my WWE friends.
Sheamus had been part of WWE for almost two decades. He was one of the most accomplished superstars, winning multiple championships and accolades including King of the Ring, Money in the Bank, and Royal Rumble. The Celtic Warrior also battled top stars such as John Cena, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins.
However, he had been absent from WWE since November 2025 and was reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury. Amid his hiatus, reports emerged that he had declined an extension after TKO asked him to restructure his deal.
Another report stated that someone from WWE management even went to bat for the former WWE Champion regarding his contract.
His latest message has seemingly confirmed his exit after a spectacular tenure with the company. With his WWE run coming to an end, it will be interesting to see whether he joins another promotion or brings his illustrious wrestling career to a close.
