Backstage Update On The Rock’s Status For UFC White House Event

ByAnutosh BajpaiProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a TKO board member and one of the most recognizable faces tied to both WWE and UFC, has reportedly declined an invitation to attend UFC’s upcoming White House event. The decision makes him arguably the most conspicuous absence on a guest list that has drawn heavy attention.

According to a report from Vanity Fair, a source close to Johnson confirmed he will not attend. No specific reason was given for his absence, and it remains unclear whether scheduling conflicts or other commitments played a role.

The event, billed as UFC Freedom 250, is set for June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C. The location and the involvement of President Donald Trump have made it one of the most talked-about cards in recent memory. UFC President Dana White has spoken publicly about inviting a long list of high-profile names.

The Rock Joins A Wave Of Celebrity Declines

The Rock is not the only big name passing on the event. Vanity Fair reports that representatives for Adam Sandler, Jared Leto, and Mario Lopez also said their clients will not attend.

“A source close to The Rock tells Vanity Fair that he will not be attending. Representatives for [Adam] Sandler, [Jared] Leto, and [Mario] Lopez say they won’t be either.”

White previously revealed that several well-known figures had been invited, including Tom Brady, Guy Ritchie, and Jason Statham. Which celebrities ultimately attend remains to be seen.

WWE Stars Still Set For UFC FanFest

While The Rock is expected to miss the event itself, several WWE superstars are scheduled to appear at the UFC Freedom 250 FanFest, held at The Ellipse near the White House.

Names such as Charlotte Flair, The Miz, Trick Williams, Chelsea Green, The Usos, Tiffany Stratton, and Bron Breakker have been confirmed to be in attendance for the show.
