WWE appears to be moving forward with the John Cena Classic, the special event Cena first teased at Backlash earlier this year.
The company hasn’t confirmed a venue, broadcast platform, match format, or participant list. However, the show is expected to draw talent from both the main roster and NXT.
As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is currently aiming to hold the event on December 12, 2026.
That date carries some scheduling intrigue, since Wrestlepalooza: Perth is already booked for the same night at RAC Arena in Australia, sandwiched between SmackDown on December 11 and Raw on December 14.
It’s unclear whether the John Cena Classic will run as part of Wrestlepalooza, air as a standalone special, or land on Netflix or another platform entirely.
