WWE Backlash Returning to Puerto Rico in 2026

WWE Backlash is set to return to San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2026, according to POST Wrestling.

While WWE has not officially confirmed the date, a source with access to an internal WWE calendar indicates Backlash is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026. This marks a return to the Caribbean island for the premium live event, which previously took place in Puerto Rico during WWE’s international expansion of the Backlash brand.

The early scheduling reveals WWE’s long-term planning for its 2026 premium live event calendar. Puerto Rico has proven to be a strong market for WWE, with passionate fans consistently creating electric atmospheres for televised events and live specials.

WWE has not yet made an official announcement regarding Backlash 2026’s location or date. The company typically confirms premium live event locations and venues several months in advance, though internal planning occurs much earlier.

Backlash has become one of WWE’s key annual premium live events since transitioning from a SmackDown-exclusive show to a global touring brand. The event’s willingness to travel internationally has taken it to France and Puerto Rico in recent years.
