WWE and one of its top stars have been slapped with a major lawsuit for alleged inappropriate actions.
He is multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion Montez Ford. The incident took place on an episode of RAW in July at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. According to POST Wrestling, a Cook County Sheriff’s officer who served as an off-duty guard for the show alleged that the Street Profits member performed an unwanted sexualized “lap dance” while making their entrance through the crowd. You can watch the clip posted by a fan below:
The security guard, identified as Noel Lucas, was visibly uncomfortable and did not appreciate his actions. Moreover, WWE itself promoted the clip on social media to garner attention from the audience.
Lucas has sued WWE, its subsidiary Event Services LLC, and Montez Ford on 14 counts, including battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, assault, and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act. So, it has likely become a serious situation for Ford and his employer.
On the other hand, both Montez Ford and his tag team partner Angelo Dawkins have been absent from WWE television for a while. So we will have to wait and see whether the company or Ford issues a public statement on the matter.
