Earlier this month, WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made his WWE in-ring debut by taking on Gunther at SummerSlam. “The Ring General” ultimately emerged victorious, but Aldis’ appearance sparked a larger conversation amongst the wrestling community: could we see more WWE authority figures make their in-ring debuts or returns?
In the case of Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, a return will not happen anytime soon. The possibility of it ever happening hasn’t been ruled out, though.

Since then, he has continued to work for WWE in a non-wrestling capacity, though he has gotten physical on occasion. This includes an aggressive grab of former Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker on Raw earlier this year, which resulted in the GM getting shoved into the corner.
Nick Aldis, another former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, turns 40 this year. His match against Gunther marked his in-ring debut under the WWE banner, and his first overall since 2023.
