WWE Hall of Famer Was Almost Left “Paralyzed” in a Match

A WWE Hall of Famer recalled a horrific in-ring incident that almost left him paralyzed.

He is none other than Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. In a recent appearance on Inside the Ropes, Hart recalled a tag team match between The Hart Foundation and Twin Towers in 1989. One of his opponents, One Man Gang, asked him to do a sunset flip after hitting the ropes.

However, the 600-pound wrestler dropped his entire weight on the Hitman’s chest instead of taking the bump the right way. The Excellence of Execution revealed that he had a numb feeling all over his body and was almost left paralyzed.

“I think I came maybe like a hair close to paralyzing myself, and it’s like a 600-pound guy sits on your chest from about that high and just drops. I had this numb feeling over my whole body like I was paralyzed. I was lying in the ring going, I think that’s about as close as you can get to being paralyzed. Like, he almost broke—he almost paralyzed me.”

Bret Hart REVEALS His Favorite Opponents!

Despite the horrific incident, the former five-time WWE Champion was not bitter about it. Instead, he called it a great match and continued his in-ring career, which ultimately made him one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

Elsewhere, Bret Hart is doing major non-wrestling appearances and signings these days. So, it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
