WWE has interest in Richard Holliday and sources expect the longtime independent wrestler could be signed soon if he hasn’t been already, according to Fightful Select.
The 33-year-old MLW alumnus is best known for his time in The Dynasty faction alongside MJF and Alex Hammerstone.
Over his decade-plus career, Holliday has wrestled for independent promotions across the globe, including GCW, PROGRESS, RevPro, and more.
Holliday has had several WWE tryouts over the years but hasn’t yet secured a deal with the company. He was considered at one point for the Mr. Elegance role in TNA, a spot that ultimately went to another talent.
In 2024, Holliday appeared twice for AEW. His first appearance came in a three-minute squash match alongside Alec Price against Lucha Libre Influence, notable primarily for what happened after the bout: Holliday was attacked while being examined by a doctor. He also competed in a dark match loss to Serpentico.
The report comes as NXT continues to build its roster with talent from the international and independent wrestling scene. WWE has already made moves recently in this area, most notably with the arrival of former NJPW stars and ongoing speculation around additional signings.
Speaking to the possibility of signing with WWE or AEW, Holliday previously told MuscleManMalcolm that he wanted to present himself on the biggest stage possible. “That’s the biggest stage, and for somebody like me, I want to present myself on the biggest stage in the biggest way possible,” he said.
No timeline has been given for either Holliday or Takahashi to appear on WWE or NXT television if deals are finalized.
