WWE is cutting from NXT, and the first name is already out.
PWInsider reports that releases are underway in developmental, with no main roster talent expected to be affected in this round. Jasper Troy is the first to be confirmed. He posted to X on Friday and pinned it to his profile.
30 Days?
That reads as a countdown on the 30-day non-compete that follows an NXT exit.
He had hinted at something days earlier. After the September 1 NXT came and went without him, Troy posted about giving everything to wrestling without expecting a pat on the back for it.
The absence was not new. His last NXT television match came on June 9, a loss to Dion Lennox, putting him close to three months off the show. He kept working Main Event and house show dates in the meantime.
Troy signed with WWE in the summer of 2022 after playing football at Kansas and Northern Iowa. He won the men’s side of the first season of WWE LFG on A&E, beating Shiloh Hill in the final, then arrived on NXT in May 2025 by attacking then-NXT Champion Oba Femi.
He held the Speed Championship for 105 days. Troy took it from El Grande Americano on November 11, 2025, on NXT and lost it to Elio LeFleur on February 24 in a triple threat that also involved Eli Knight. At 340lbs he is the heaviest man to have held the belt.
The Speed concept is winding down around him. The Women’s Speed Championship was retired at Heatwave last weekend, unified into the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
PWInsider reports the cuts are ongoing, so Troy is unlikely to be the last name.
