WWE has been assured that SummerSlam 2026 will go ahead as planned at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with city representatives confirming the venue’s roof is structurally safe.
The roof concern stems from a report by the Minnesota Star Tribune, which stated that a large portion of the U.S. Bank Stadium roof requires replacement following hail damage sustained in 2023.
According to WrestleVotes, a WWE source said the issue is not expected to impact SummerSlam in any way. Company officials have been informed by city representatives that the roof remains safe.
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority addressed the matter directly in a statement.
All Minnesotans can be confident that the roof at U.S. Bank Stadium is safe, that proactive steps are in place to preserve its unique environment, and the MSFA’s financial safeguards have protected this public investment,” the statement read.
Strong Ticket Numbers For Two-Night SummerSlam
The reassurance arrives as the first-ever two-night SummerSlam continues to show strong demand. Per F4WOnline.com, distribution figures for both nights point to a packed stadium.
- SummerSlam Saturday: 24,051 tickets distributed, $75 get-in price
- SummerSlam Sunday: 24,208 tickets distributed, $81 get-in price
SummerSlam 2026 will mark WWE’s first two-night running of the event, which was announced for Minneapolis in August 2026. For now, the roof report appears to be a non-issue for one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year.
