Sources familiar with Saudi Arabia’s involvement indicate a strong desire to make the event significant, with WWE potentially announcing the date around Crown Jewel on November 7, or sooner. Saudi representatives have reportedly been visiting WWE headquarters in recent weeks for kickoff meetings.
Site construction for Crown Jewel is set to begin this week in Riyadh. There had been a rumor circulating that WrestleMania 43 might shift to May 1 and 2 instead of April, but reporting suggests it will likely remain in April.
Saudi officials are said to want to make WrestleMania 43 as big as possible from their end. One report claimed WWE had explored a Rock versus Roman Reigns match for the event, though The Rock reportedly showed no interest, wanting his final match to take place in the United States.
A WWE source told Fightful that WrestleMania’s Saudi Arabia plans are the reason the date has been announced later than usual. Triple H and Turki Alalshikh have been central to the partnership discussions.
