Championship Match After SmackDown, New Superstar Wrestles Before The Show

This week's episode of SmackDown had two dark matches

This week’s episode of SmackDown Live featured a couple of dark matches including one with the prestigious WWE Championship being on the line.

The first match took place before the show went on air and it saw the former 205 Live Star Ali and former Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy competing in a one on one match. This bout was won by Ali.

It’s worth mentioning here that Murphy was moved to the SmackDown Roster during the Superstar Shakeup earlier this year but the former Champion has not made his on-screen debut for the brand yet.

The second dark match took place after both SmackDown Live and 205 Live went off air and it saw the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston defending his title.

Kingston defended his championship against his Super Showdown opponent Dolph Ziggler and the New Day Member was able to retain his title successfully.

It’s worth mentioning here that this is not the last time these two will face each other in the near future as Kofi is scheduled to face Dolph again very soon.

These two will face each other in a steel cage match at the upcoming Stomping Grounds PPV this Sunday. You can check out the full match card of the event at this link.
