Elias Pulled From King Of The Ring Match With Injury

Elias is out

WWE shared some unfortunate news about Elias on Tuesday that will impact tonight’s SmackDown Live.

This afternoon the company announced that Elias has suffered an undisclosed injury. As a result, he will not compete in his scheduled King of the Ring semi-final match against Chad Gable.

WWE has yet to announce the plans for the SmackDown side of this tournament. It’s likely that Gable will automatically move onto the finals but WWE could name a replacement for Elias to face Gable.

In an update, Elias is reportedly suffering from a legitimate ankle injury, according to PWInsider.

WWE holds Tuesday’s SmackDown Live in New York City, NY at Madison Square Garden. This will serve as the go-home show for the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event.

WWE has announced several segments for this show including the return of The Undertaker. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what he’ll be doing on this show although there’s a chance that he could do a segment with Sami Zayn, who made some interesting comments on his official Twitter account.

Also on tap for this episode is whether Roman Reigns will get his payback on Erick Rowan after he was attacked by the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion.

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston is expected to do a promo about his journey and rivalry that started with Randy Orton at MSG ten years ago.
