Matt Sydal Reveals He’s Dealing With Knee Injury

Matt Sydal

IMPACT Wrestling will be without the services of Matt Sydal for the next few months. The former WWE star recently took to Twitter to announce that he has suffered a knee injury. He will require surgery to repair the issue. Sydal divulged that the operation will happen on Thursday and he’s eying a return around March or April. In the meantime, Sydal said he’ll be teaching wrestling online and from the World Wrestling Network training center:

“I’m having surgery next Thursday to repair torn cartilage in my knee. I should be able to return to the ring by March or April. I’ll be teaching wrestling online, and at the training center throughout. Reach out to [email protected] with questions.”

Lately, the former IMPACT X Division Champion has been teaming up with Ethan Page. The pair are former foes from an Ultimate X qualifying match during IMPACT’s recent TV tapings in Las Vegas this past November. Page would win the bout and advanced to the Ultimate X match for the then-vacant X Division Championship at IMPACT’s “Homecoming” pay-per-view (PPV).

The match was eventually won by former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann. We’ll keep you updated on Sydal’s injury situation as we learn more…
