NWA Pulls Powerrr Episode For Racially Offensive Comment By Jim Cornette

NWA has made changes to the episode.

NWA had an unfortunate situation on Tuesday night that resulted in an edit being made to its latest episode of Powerrr.

The promotion had to temporarily pull the latest episode of the show because of a comment made by Jim Cornette, who provides color commentary for the show.

In the episode, Trevor Murdoch was battling NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis in a match. This is where Cornette’s comment was made that offended fans.

Cornette stated, “Trevor Murdoch is the only person who can strap a bucket of fried chicken to his back and ride a motor scooter across Ethiopia. Trevor Murdoch can take care of himself!”

NWA Vice President David Lagana took to his official Twitter account where he issued a statement and an apology for the comment.

Lagana tweeted, “On tonight’s episode of NWA Powerrr airing on November 19th 2019, one of our talents made comments which some viewers found offensive. We deeply regret the error and apologize. We have temporarily taken the program down while we correct this error.”

  • Marti Belle & Thunder Rosa vs. NWA Women’s Champion Allisyn Kay and Ashley Vox.
