Buddy Murphy Wins WWE Cruiserweight Title At Super Show-Down

The title reign of Cedric Alexander as WWE Cruiserweight Champion has come to an end and a new era under Buddy Murphy has begun.

Murphy was able to beat Alexander to win the title at Saturday’s (October 6, 2018) WWE Super Show-Down pay-per-view event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne, Australia on the WWE Network. This marks the first reign as WWE Cruiserweight Champion for Murphy and his first title win on the main roster.

Alexander held the title for over days after winning it when he beat Mustafa Ali in a tournament final to win the vacant championship that was part of the WrestleMania 34 pre-show on April 8, 2018.

This feud will continue as Alexander is owed a rematch for the strap against Murphy and it could come as soon as an upcoming episode of 205 Live or the next main roster pay-per-view event for the company, which is Crown Jewel.

The WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event takes place on November 2nd, 2018 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium and will air on the WWE Network.
