Dolph Ziggler recently spoke with Sportskeda as part of a teleconference where he talked about a wide range of topics including the spoofed the entrances of legends last year on SmackDown Live when he was reinventing himself and character.
Each week at this time, Ziggler was attempting to get a buzz going for being a heel, which saw him come out each week to different past superstars’ entrance themes.
When asked about the creative behind it, Ziggler said that it was to prove a point as he has had ups and downs in his career with the WWE over the years but has always tried to do things differently.
“I just wanted to prove a point to people, whether they respect their work, when it comes to WWE, they’ll just follow whoever they have to follow without thinking for themselves.”
He continued to say that he made it a point to play music and make fun of people who were all show. Ziggler stated that the fans went with him and ate it up. Thus, when he got his entrance theme back, he thinks fans were sad because when they didn’t get to see an entrance instead of the actual work that goes into the product.
The WWE RAW Tag Team Champion is currently involved in the top feud on the flagship show of the company, Monday Night RAW, alongside Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman as they are feuding with The Shield (WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose).
