Belair, who was competing in a Women\'s U.S. Title Tournament when Cargill was found, abandoned her match to check on her friend and tag-team partner.
On the December 13, episode of WWE SmackDown, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis told Bianca Belair that Jade Cargill’s absence will cause them to relinquish the titles. Belair was against the idea, and Naomi arrived on the scene to argue that she can fill in for Cargill.

Aldis said that Belair and Naomi will need to be fighting champions, with a title defense planned for next week\'s SmackDown. The SmackDown GM added that they are no closer to figuring out who attacked Cargill.
This segment marks Naomi\'s first championship since returning to WWE in this year\'s Women\'s Royal Rumble. The Glow held the tag titles with Sasha Banks in 2022, as the pair infamously walked out of WWE still with the gold.
