Lio Rush Wins WWE NXT Cruiserweight Title

Lio rush is the new champ.

Drew Gulak no longer holds the Cruiserweight Title as he dropped it to Lio Rush in his latest title defense as champion.

Rush beat Gulak to win the strap on Wednesday’s episode of NXT episode of WWE NXT in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University on the USA Network.

Gulak beat Nese and Akira Tozawa to become the champion at the Stomping Grounds show that aired on their streaming service from Tacoma, WA at the Tacoma Dome.

Rush made his return to not only WWE television but also in-ring action back on the September 18th episode of NXT when he beat Oney Lorcan in a #1 Contender’s Match.

As a result of this victory, he earned the right to be the next in line to challenge Gulak for the title. That opportunity paid off.

Before being removed from WWE television earlier this year, Rush was serving as Bobby Lashley’s manager.

Time will tell whether WWE continues this feud or goes into a different direction going forward.
