Masashi Ozawa, WWE’s Killer Khan, Passes Away At 76


The pro wrestling world lost several notable figures over the course of 2023, but sadly, we must add a legend to that list. Killer Khan, real name Masashi Ozawa, has passed away at the age of 76-years-old.

Killer Khan\’s Career in WWF

Killer Khan was a Japanese wrestling legend, hailing from Niigata Prefecture. He transitioned to professional wrestling in 1971 and engaged in notable matches against WWE icons Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan. 

During his illustrious career, Killer Khan achieved main event status in both Japan and the United States before retiring in 1987. Following his wrestling career, Masashi Ozawa ventured into entrepreneurship by opening Izakaya Kanchan\’ in Shinjuku Ward, which unfortunately closed in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Additionally, Masashi Ozawa made his singing debut in 2005 with songs like Furusato Makaka (Japan Crown) and Shinjuku Sanhyakugoya. He was a multi-talented individual, and will be missed throughout the world.

Killer Khan\’s Cause of Death

Masashi Ozawa\’s passing was attributed to a ruptured artery, with reports indicating that he lost consciousness at Kanchan\’s Jinjo Sakaba in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo, before being transported to the hospital. Our thoughts are with Masashi Ozawa\’s family, friends, and fans during this sad time.
