Tommaso Ciampa Retains NXT Title At TakeOver: WarGames II

Tommaso Ciampa is still the WWE NXT Champion. As seen at Saturday’s (November 17, 2018) NXT TakeOver: WarGames II event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network, Ciampa successfully retained the title over The Velveteen Dream.

Ciampa is the 16th champion in the history of the NXT Title that was created back in 2012 when the inaugural champion was Seth Rollins when the brand was first introduced to the WWE fans. Ciampa is also a former NXT Tag Team Champion under the WWE banner when he won the titles with Johnny Gargano.

WWE holds NXT TV tapings on Wednesday, November 28th in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University where WWE will have the fallout from this event as well as this match.

The next NXT special is NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, which with everything that has gone on in this brand lately, it will be interesting to see how WWE books the new few month of television for the NXT brand leading up to this event that is slated to go down on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. This will be the night before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
