New World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders were in a reflective move following their first title victory in over half a decade. On Raw, the pair dethroned The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh) in the show\'s main event. This marks Erik and Ivar\'s second times as champions, after previously winning the Raw Tag Team Titles in October 2019.
This win comes after both Erik and Ivar were forced to miss months of action due to serious injuries. In a WWE Raw Digital Exclusive, Ivar spoke about the win, which came in his hometown of Boston.
\"It’s been a long, long, hard, vicious, brutal, trying road... To be here, it couldn’t be more emotional and just perfect for me.\
Erik was similarly emotional following the victory, especially after what he and Ivar had been told in the past.
\"There were points in the last five years, but also in the last ten years, where both of us were told more than once we’d never wrestle again. We might never walk again. I might not be able to hold my sons. Through all that, we’re still here.\
The Judgment Day had held the World Tag Team Titles since June, with their reign seeing criticism for a notable lack of defenses. Balor and McDonagh defended just one time in the first 100 days of their reign, and just three times on TV throughout their six-month reign.
