Montez Ford Discusses Potential Singles Run If Street Profits Split

0

One half of the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Montez Ford, discussed the possibility of a future singles run in a recent interview.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Ford entertained the idea of a solo run. He noted how if it were to happen following a draft, he and Angelo Dawkins would no doubt support one another.

“If myself and Dawkins were to get drafted and go separate ways, it would definitely be one of those situations where like, he’ll support me and be all for it and vice versa,” Ford said. “It’s one of those things where we’ll just be supportive, man. So yeah, it’d be definitely one of those things that we’d be supportive and be excited about.”

Montez Ford quickly added how he doesn’t think a Street Profits split will be “happening any time soon.”

He noted how he likes to fly around the ring. Ford joked how he needs his partner to “knock over those bigger guys.”

Ford pointed to larger WWE Superstars like Bruan Strowman and Keith Lee as examples of this.

The Street Profits recently faced off against Raw’s New Day at WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. The two teams clashed in a Champions versus Champions matchup. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins would ultimately win a hard-fought contest against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

Heath Miller On His Bound For Glory Injury, When He’ll Be Back In The Ring

0

Impact Wrestling’s Heath has provided an update following his unfortunate injury at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view. Heath opened up to former WWE Superstar Ryback on his podcast, The Ryback Show.

Heath revealed how he was actually meant to win his matchup. He shared how “I got in there and I hit three moves that I hit for the last 15 years of my career. I slide and Myers throws the clothesline. I duck it and that neck breaker felt like somebody stabbed me with a knife. I thought, oh God, what was that?”

He explained how he continued on thinking he was okay until he dropped down. Heath recalled not knowing what was happening. It wasn’t until he climbed up to the top rope that he realized the extent of the damage.

“I’ve never felt pain like that. It felt like every time I moved, somebody took a knife and twisted it. It wasn’t a hernia. The person at the hospital said I had a hernia. Then I went to a hernia specialist in Charlotte and he said it wasn’t a hernia,” Heath said. “He said I ripped my abductor muscle off the bone and I slightly tore my groin. He said I didn’t need surgery. He said once I ripped my abductor muscle, they can only suture it back to the bone.”

Heath’s Road To Recovery

Heath was told to ice the injury and “do nothing for two months.” Heath then detailed how the damage was discolored from black to blue to purple and yellow. He knew it was bad as he could barely walk at the time.

Thankfully, the worst seems to have now passed. Heath revealed he can get around easier and, although still bruised and uncomfortable, it’s nowhere near as bad. He then revealed that he is due back in January 2021.

To help with his journey back to in-ring action, Heath has been seeing a physical therapist and “hoping for the best.” Although he put on weight as he nursed his injury, he shared he has since cut back down to 235.

Elias Teases Character Change Following Symphony Of Destruction Match

0

Raw Superstar Elias has teased a change could be on the horizon for his character. Taking to his Twitter account, he addressed his Symphony of Destruction match with Jeff Hardy that took place last Monday Night on Raw. During their bout, Elias would suffer from a storyline electrocution.

In the video, Elias discussed being told by doctors how he would no longer be able to play the guitar again. He then shared how, when he was electrocuted, “something in Elias did change.” According to him, he has since “seen visions” and knows the purpose of his life. It’s something he promises to share with the WWE Universe going forward.

“[…] to those of you that said, ‘Elias deserves it,’ I just have to say, ‘Screw You.’ See, the doctors said that that kind of voltage would have killed an average man,” Elias said. “It certainly would have killed a below-average man, like many of you in the WWE Universe. But Elias is no average man. In fact, that’s why they call me ‘The Extraordinary Elias.'”

“I Have Seen Visions, And I Know The Purpose Of My Life”

The Superstar continued, “And I can tell you, doctors said I may never be able to play guitar again. But despite all the odds, and [thanks to] modern medicine, I have gained full function in my hands. Now I can tell you: when I was electrocuted, something in Elias did change. And on top of that, I have seen visions, and I know the purpose of my life. And now that I have that knowledge, I will be sharing my gift with all of you.”

Elias lost the Symphony of Destruction match to Jeff Hardy, who suffered a scary moment following a Swanton Bomb to the outside. You can see highlights of their clash below.

Lacey Evans Shares How The Marines Helped Her, Tribute To The Troops

0

NXT TakeOver: WarGames wasn’t the only WWE event that aired yesterday. WWE’s annual Tribute to the Troops also took place on FOX, headlined by a non-title matchup between WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and The Miz. Speaking with The Wrap ahead of the event, former Marine Lacey Evans detailed how the Marines saved her life. She also shared what an event like Tribute to the Troops means to her.

“Growing up, I did not have the role models that I needed. I didn’t know what I wanted to be. I didn’t know what a positive, happy, healthy lifestyle looked like,” Evans confessed. “All I knew, while looking around, [was] my dysfunctional, drug-infested, mental health. Anger, depression. It seeped and destroyed my family. That’s the life that I knew.”

Lacey Evans then explained why Tribute to the Troops resonates so much with her. The Raw Superstar highlighted how she knows all about how difficult it is to leave family when deploying for active duty:

“I know not only what the military goes through — the veterans, the active-duty — but their spouses, their kids. They’re going through hell,” Lacey Evans explained. “The divorce rate’s high, the arguments are high. The veterans are tired, the active-duty — they go through a lot.”

Last night’s Tribute to the Troops took place at WWE’s ThunderDome at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Alongside the non-title main event, WWE also hosted a ten-man tag team match and a women’s tag team match between Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks versus Bayley and Natalya.

Lacey Evans appeared on the show in a segment explaining why she joined the Marines. You can watch her appearance below:

Candice LeRae Being Evaluated For Possible Broken Arm After WarGames

0

Candice LeRae wrestled in a brutal WarGames match at the latest NXT Takeover event and it appears that she might have suffered a broken arm during the show.

Triple H talked about the female star on the post TakeOver media call and he mentioned how as of now they are only aware of the bumps and bruises suffered by the competitors which you would expect from a match like this.

However, he noted that LeRae is getting checked out. There is a possibility that she suffered a broken arm and the former PWG star is getting an X-Ray done to get a better idea about her condition.

Candice LeRae teamed up with Toni Storm, Raquel Gonzalez, and Dakota Kai to face the team of Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Rhea Ripley, and Io Shirai in a WarGames match at the show this Sunday.

The brutal match had many impressive spots and the ending saw the heels picking up the victory after Gonzalez power bombed Shirai through a ladder to win the bout for her team.

Fans were worried about Candice’s health after she was seen favoring her arm towards the ending of the bout. Now we will have to wait for the x ray results to know more about her condition. Stay tuned for updates.

Triple H Compares Undisputed Era To DX

0

The Undisputed Era has been one of the top factions of the wrestling world for the past few years and during a recent interview, Triple H compared the group to one of the most iconic factions in the history of the business, DX.

The Game recently had an interview with Ryan Satin of FOX Sports where he discussed things such as the legacy of the late legend Pat Patterson and more.

Talking about the Undisputed Era, Triple H explained that the reason for their success is the real-life connection among the members of the group. He went on to compare it to the connection he shared with his teammates in DX:

“That [authenticity] to me is the magic of it, when that magic is there, it’s next level. They have that magic. It’s real to them. There’s no show. I think that’s what worked with DX. It wasn’t a show. We were just us. We all got along in that manner. When it’s magic like that, it really works.”

Triple H continued by saying that the group is a unit which gets along and then explained what kind of content he thinks resonates with people the most:

“In a way, I always feel like that stuff resonates the most when you can see a bunch of people that are on some level legitimately have that connection to where as a viewer watching, you think to yourself, ‘Man. I’d just like want to hang out with those dudes. I’d like to be at that dinner and just have dinner with them and hang out with them because it looks like it’s so much fun.'”

The Undisputed Era entered the WarGames match as babyfaces for the first time this year. You can check out the results of the event at this link.

Keith Lee Reveals The Origin Of His “Bask In My Glory” Catchphrase

0

Keith Lee has gotten the spotlight in the last couple of years and after grinding for more than one and half decade, the heavyweight star has finally started to get the recognition he deserves.

The latest WWE 24 documentary looks at the struggles the former NXT champion has had to endure to get to his current spot in the professional wrestling world.

A clip WWE posted of the documentary recently sees Lee talking about his time in NXT and he reveals how the late great Dusty Rhodes helped in the creation of his famous catchphrase:

“When it was time to do our thing on the mic, I felt like I was a completely different individual, Dusty Rhodes came to me, and said, ‘Son, you got a presence I can literally bask in.’

And when he said that I have a presence that he can literally bask in, ‘Bask in my glory’ was born.” said Keith Lee, “Dusty let me know that, and I was proud.”

Keith Lee made his wrestling debut in 2005 and spent the next decade or so competing for various indie promotions such as Ring of Honor, Evolve and more.

His first WWE tryout was in 2008 and he had multiple tryouts with the company after that but the former NXT star was not signed by the promotion until 2018.

Backstage Update On The Status Of Jaxson Ryker

0

Two members of the Forgotten Sons stable returned to WWE TV last week on SmackDown which made many wonder about the status of the third member of the group, Jaxson Ryker.

Dave Meltzer talked about the former TNA star on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He noted that “there’s a reason he wasn’t there” at SmackDown and it’s the same reason why the faction had been kept off TV for so long.

Jaxson Ryker had made a tweet supporting the US President Donald Trump earlier this year. He also made some controversial remarks on the Black Lives Matter campaign which got him a lot of heat from the fans and the group was pulled from WWE programming afterwards.

Meltzer noted how it will be very difficult to resurrect his career after the turn of events this year and he presumed that the former NXT star will most likely be part of next round of WWE cuts. He added that the company is not in a hurry to let Ryker go because they “aren’t losing much money” by keeping him around.

The group was taken off TV as a result of Jaxson Ryker’s comments back in May. The officials were planning a SmackDown tag title run for the Forgotten Sons but they had to change directions because of the turn of events.

The change in plans led to the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro taking their spot and winning the SmackDown tag team titles from the New Day.

Two members of the Forgotten Sons stable in Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler then returned to WWE programming last week. They accompanied Baron Corbin and helped King Corbin in his feud against the Mysterio family.

Opinion: Every match delivered in it’s own way tonight at TakeOver: WarGames. The Strap match was much better than anticipated and the women’s WarGames match was my favorite of the night. The main event was awesome and Pat McAfee continues to impress with the limited time he has had in the ring. As to be expected, NXT put on another excellent TakeOver event tonight.

Undisputed Era Wins Men’s WarGames Match

The 2020 chapter in WarGames history has been written as the men’s version of the match was memorable.

They put on one heck of a match that delivered. The order of wrestlers entering the match is listed as the following: Dunne, O’Reilly, Lorcan, Fish, Burch, Strong, McAfee, and Cole.

McAfee hit a moonsault off the top rope sending Strong through a table. McAfee worked over the left knee of Cole throughout the match. There was a botched table spot until Strong sent Dunne and Lorcan through it.

Karrion Kross’ Return Teased During NXT TakeOver: WarGames

0

It appears that Karrion Kross is very close to making a return to WWE NXT.

Following a strap match between Cameron Grimes and Dexter Lumis at Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: WarGames show, a short vignette aired showing a vulture, a clear indication for Kross and his return.

The video ended with the signature “Tick, Tock,” his trademark phrase. Following the segment, Kross acknowledged the vignette on Twitter when he wrote “Think about the future.”

Triple H was asked about Kross’ return this week in an interview with Fox Sports’ Ryan Satin.

“He’s one of those guys that, again, you want to run through a brick wall for,” he told Satin. “But, he’ll run through the brick wall for himself. That’s the other thing. He’s not here to sit back and go, ‘Man, I hope this heals well.’ He’s going to. If it doesn’t heal well, it’s not on him. It’s not on lack of effort. He did everything conceivable to get there and he’s ready to rock and roll. It’s just a timing thing now.”

The former NXT Champion has been out of action since he suffered a separated shoulder during a match at TakeOver XXX on August 22.

He won the title that night but had to vacate the title on the next episode of NXT due to the injury.

Johnny Gargano Wins North American Title At WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames

0

Leon Ruff made his first title defense on a WWE NXT TakeOver special against Johnny Gargano and Damien Priest.

It happened on Sunday at the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames event when a Triple Threat Match was booked with the North American Championship on the line.

The match featured Priest being featured in the big man role and dominating his opponents. Ruff did some wild spots such as being tossed through the barricade by Priest. Three people dressed up as ghost face appeared and attacked Priest, but Priest took them out.

More came down to the ring and he took them out with a dive. The finish saw a person dressed up hit Priest with a pipe and Gargano connecting with a superkick then a springboard DDT to Ruff. Austin Theory was revealed as the final ghost face.

This contest came about after Ruff shockingly won the title from Gargano on NXT TV three weeks after getting help from Priest distracting Gargano. The following week, Ruff and Gargano faced off in a rematch, but ended via disqualification when Priest punched Ruff so Gargano wouldn’t be able to win the title back.

Finally, the three-way contest was made official on last week’s NXT episode during a KO Show segment with Ruff that was interrupted by Priest and Gargano.

Impact Wrestling Talent Frustrated With Lack Of COVID-19 Protocols

Last month, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “there was a COVID test positive” from the latest Impact Wrestling TV tapings. It turns out that there are some on the roster who are not happy with how the promotion conducts its protocols regarding COVID-19.

Fightful Select reports that there are several wrestlers who aren’t thrilled with the procedures as some even mentioned that the last set of tapings seemed to be ‘more unprepared’ and ‘fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants than any this year’.

The COVID protocols were said to be a ‘major concern’ given that there was a positive test. Several talents reportedly hadn’t received a test over the course of multiple sets of tapings.

Instead, the promotion has only been temperature checked in addition to having wrestlers fill out paperwork to record if they’ve had symptoms.

Impact’s Ethan Page recently revealed he was quarantining because he had been in contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

Up until the last set of tapings, the promotion hadn’t dealt with any positive tests. The promotion won’t have any more tapings for the rest of 2020 as they’ve taped enough content for their weekly television show on AXS TV.

Bully Ray Talks WWE Constantly ‘Cutting Off’ Hot Angles and Characters

0

WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio Bully Ray recently discussed WWE’s use of the Hurt Business. Whilst the group does appear to be getting some traction on television, Bully Ray believes that it is another case of WWE cutting off a ‘hot angle’ before it can really get going.

“As fans? The minute we get a little bit of traction, and we’re getting into something? They [WWE] stop it, they cut it off” Bully Ray began on Busted Open. “That’s why, even with the Hurt Business, I haven’t been fully on board.”

Bully Ray on The Hurt Business

“I like the Hurt Business” Bully Ray clarified. “I think there’s a tonne of potential to further the Hurt Business. But the minute anyone gets a little bit of traction? Something goes wrong.”

In the past WWE have appeared to be prone to cutting the legs off more organic occasions of talent getting over. One of the biggest examples is Matt Cardona/Zack Ryder, who produced his own YouTube show that become extremely successful back in the early 2010s. Although WWE would start to get behind Ryder? They completely killed his push as they made some questionable booking decisions involving John Cena and his feud with Kane.

Ray would finish by discussing the Hurt Business again in particular. “The minute the Hurt Business starts the show looking like these big, bad, intimidating mother truckers? Then they go losing matches. The minute the four of them start to gel? Here goes Cedric [Alexander] splitting on them. I don’t know, it’s almost like…it’s almost like I’m scared to get into a relationship with any WWE characters.”

Do you agree with Bully Ray? Do you think there’s too many characters that WWE pulls back on when they’re just getting hot on television? Let us know in the comments

Former Marine Lacey Evans Hypes WWE’s Tribute To The Troops

0

WWE’s Tribute to the Troops airs tonight and while former US Marine, Lacey Evans, won’t be on the card, she’s been promoting the event and speaking with servicemen and women. Evans spoke to TV Insider recently about how this year’s event will be different.

“It will definitely be different. I was just excited to be part of the backstage process figuring out ways we can continue giving back to them. Our troops will be front and center. We’ve done virtual meet-and-greets. I met 11 troop members and their families. A few of us did go to a military base in Miramar, California. [WWE is] still making it work regardless of the Hell the world is going through,” Evans said.

Evans continued to say that working with WWE allows her to continue to meet with military personnel and their families.

“Once you get out, you miss being in the military every day. But at least my job allows me to be surrounded by them on and off because WWE has so many partnerships. They have ones with the USO, Hire Heroes, Tribute to the Troops. I still get to see my brothers and sisters. It’s not climbing through the mud anymore, [but] it keeps me motivated as ever,” Evans continued.

As for what fans can expect at Tribute to the Troops, Evans revealed some details.

“We are going to bring the fireworks. We’re still going to bring the entertainment with some hard-hitting action. Veterans love that. They love the noises. The impact, the ground, and pound. That’s exactly what they are going to get. We don’t stop giving back to our troops. Not now, not ever.”

The lineup for tonight’s show is below:

  • Drew McIntyre vs The Miz
  • Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair vs. Bayley & Natalya
  • Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy & The Street Profits vs. King Corbin, Elias, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode

Rocky Romero Refutes AEW-NJPW Rumors

0

Earlier this week, it was reported that Tony Khan was still beating down NJPW’s door in the hopes of developing a working agreement between the two promotions. It was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Khan was speaking with NJPW’s Rocky Romero regularly to get something done.

“Khan has been speaking to Rocky Romero regularly of late to try and open doors to New Japan, feeling the odds are better to do something with Harold Meij gone,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

Romero refuted these reports recently on an episode of Talk N Shop with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. According to Romero, he hasn’t talked to Tony Khan in over a month.

“I guess Meltzer’s reporting that me and Tony Khan are having calls all the time, like every week, which is not true at all,” Romero said on the show.

“I’m not talking to Tony weekly, no. I mean, I’ve talked to Tony in the past, of course,” Romero continued. He was then asked about the last time he spoke with the AEW President.

“I’ve talked to Tony probably a month ago, maybe more,” Romero continued.

“(Meltzer) is not completely lying but he’s making it seem… he’s selling something and trying to make it seem something… He’s trying to get clicks,” Romero continued. He would later refer to the report as “misleading.”

Shortly after this, the subject of what exactly Rocky Romero’s role with NJPW is concerning American talent. Although unofficial, Romero has long been thought of as NJPW’s point person for American and English-speaking talent.

“I’ve never said that,” Romero said when the Good Brothers referred to him as working for talent relations in NJPW. Gallows wasn’t convinced, however.

“I’m saying that, it might not be your actual title,” he said. “Your pay cheque says differently. They don’t just pay you to talk guys out.”

“Yes, they are!” Romero responded.

Scrapped Storyline Plans For Chelsea Green & Mickie James Revealed

0

Chelsea Green has had an interesting year in wrestling. She left NXT in May and seemed destined for a main roster call-up but would not make her Smackdown debut until 6 months later. When she did finally debuted, she broke her wrist in her first match and is now on the sidelines with the injury.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Green and Mickie James were planned to be in an angle together this year. The angle would have been a “reboot” of the famous Mickie James and Trish Stratus angle that culminated in their match at WrestleMania 22. Only in this version of the angle, Chelsea Green would have played the role of the stalker and James would have been in the Trish Stratus role.

Green and James are even reported to have filmed content for the angle but it was scrapped just hours before it was to debut. Green would have been portrayed as an obsessed fan of James’.

Mickie James and Trish Stratus’ angle leading up to WrestleMania 22 was so well-received by fans, that James was actually cheered on the show despite being a clear heel at the time.

Rhea Ripley Talks Possible Main Roster Call Up

0

Latest reports have revealed that there have been renewed talks of Rhea Ripley being moved to the main roster within WWE.

During her recent interview with Lillian Garcia on her Chasing Glory podcast, the NXT star talked about things like the development of her on-screen persona, her relationship with boyfriend Demetri ‘Action’ Jackson and more.

Discussing the reports about her future and a potential move to the main roster, Ripley said that she would like to go to Raw or SmackDown but at the same time there are still a lot of things she wants to do in NXT:

“I would like to go to Raw or SmackDown, but at the same time, there are so many people in NXT I haven’t faced yet, and I feel like there is so much more that I can do, like, I would love to wrestle Candice [LeRae], especially since her persona has changed.

I’d also love to wrestle Indi Hartwell; I would love to wrestle Shotzi [Blackheart]. I haven’t had a match with Shotzi. I’ve tagged with her but haven’t wrestled her.” said Rhea Ripley “I wanna wrestle Raquel [Gonzalez] again. Hell, I would love to have a stipulations match with her. I want to be in WarGames again.”

The Australian star, who also recently opened up about her struggles with mental health this year, talked about the upcoming year as well.

Ripley said that if she had full control, she would like to get back to being the confident star she knows she is and skyrocket her career in 2021 like it did in 2019.

Eric Bischoff Discusses His WWE Firing In 2005

0

Eric Bischoff signed with WWE in 2002 to serve as the on-screen Raw General Manager authority figure. He held this post for three years before being relieved in December 2005.

During the latest episode of his 83 weeks podcast, the former WCW president opened up about his kayfabe firing from the position and the real-life situation behind it.

Bischoff recalled how it was Stephanie McMahon who called him to discuss the situation and explain that they wanted to go in a different direction with the storyline:

“This wasn’t me necessarily getting fired; I got notified by Stephanie McMahon that they just decided they were going to go in a different creative direction.

I still had time left on my contract when I got the call from Stephanie, and she said ‘Look, we’re going to take a different direction, pay you through your contract.” recalled Eric Bischoff, “You didn’t do anything wrong, there’s no heat. We just need to go in a different direction.”

The former WWE star continued by saying that he was tired of playing the same on-screen character as well and he feels like he fulfilled his goal of ending his career in WWE as a performer on a positive note.

Bischoff made a few more sporadic appearances for the promotion after his on-screen firing from the General Manager post. He was finally released by the company in August 2007 after the expiry of his contract.

Backstage Update On Status Of Third Rascalz Member Trey Miguel

0

WWE announced the signing of two members of The Rascalz stable in Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz earlier this week, alongside some other signings.

This led many to wonder about the future of Trey Miguel, the third member of the Impact Wrestling stable and the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some update on his status.

According to the Observer, the former Impact Wrestling star is “considering both WWE and AEW” but he hasn’t made a decision on which promotion he wants to join yet.

The Rascalz joined Impact Wrestling back in 2018 and their fan following has grown in the last couple of years. The trio also competed in various indie promotions in this time.

During a recent interview with Fox Sports, Triple H had commented on the trio saying that he is impressed with what the three stars have done so far.

With two of The Rascalz members already being part of the WWE roster, the probability of Miguel joining the promotion in near future as well is very high.

Though since he has not made a decision yet, there is still a possibility that he can sign with AEW and it would be interesting to see what choice the young star makes.

Pat Patterson Cause Of Death, Details On Health Condition

0

News broke out earlier this week that WWE Hall Of Famer and wrestling veteran Pat Patterson has passed away but at the time not many details about his conditions had been revealed.

The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides some details on the issues the legend was dealing with and reveals his cause of death as well. According to the Observer, Patterson had been dealing with dementia for a while. People who interacted with him at Rocky Johnson’s funeral earlier this year were said to be concerned by his condition.

The WWE Hall Of Famer first contracted bladder cancer several years ago and there is a good chance that he had cancer before his passing. The 79-year-old star had moved to an assisted living arrangement recently due to his declining health.

Pat generally liked to spend the summers in his native Montreal and the winters in Hallandale, Florida but he was “pretty much confined” to his place in South Florida this year due to his memory loss and the coronavirus pandemic.

Renee Paquette has revealed the gender of the baby she and Jon Moxley are expecting next year.

The news of her pregnancy was first made a few weeks ago during a promo done by Moxley on an episode of Dynamite. The then-AEW World Heavyweight Champion later confirmed that he was going to let his wife share the news. However, changed his mind as a way to further his promo.

QT Marshall Talks ‘Nepotism’ in AEW, Having To Prove Himself

0

AEW star QT Marshall recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. The Nightmare Family member discussed a number of topics during his time on the show, including teaming with Dustin Rhodes in All Elite Wrestling.

“There’s a lot of nepotism and stuff that goes along with that, being friends with Cody” QT Marshall began on the podcast. “I always feel like I just, I need to prove myself. Even though like I’ve been training in wrestling for 16 years and I don’t really need to prove myself? But to certain fans? I feel like I always do. I always have to justify why I’m here.”

QT Marshall also discussed the Bunkhouse match that he took part in recently. The Natural Nightmares took on The Butcher and The Blade on Dynamite in a bloody affair. Marshall hit a massive elbow drop during the match from the top of a ladder, something he discussed on the Talk Is Jericho podcast.

QT Marshall on The Bunkhouse Match

“What could I do…that if I never wrestle again? What could I do that would live forever? The night before I was just at the building looking over stuff, you know as I do for the production side of things. I saw a humongous ladder and I was like, ‘what if I jump off this ladder?’ And then I climbed up when no one was here, I just climbed up and I looked down. I literally yelled to one of the production guys and was like, ‘hide this ladder, because this one is way too big!”‘
