Jim Ross Sends Message To Piper Niven After Her Bell’s Palsy Bout

0

WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW announcer Jim Ross understands what NXT UK Superstar Piper Niven had to deal with when it comes to Bell’s Palsy.

Earlier this week, Niven announced on her official Twitter account that she recently suffered a bout of Bell’s Palsy.

For those who don’t know, Bell’s Palsy is a condition commonly known for weakening facial muscles, sometimes appearing on only one side.

Ross has dealt with it three times himself. The legendary pro wrestling announcer took to social media to share some kind words with her while she deals with the aftermath of it.

Jim Ross Sends Message

Ross wrote, “You look great, young lady! Bell’s palsy is just another bump in the road for you. I’ve had it three times and our only option is to fight through it. Stay positive. You have a bright future.”

NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II goes down on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Empress Ballroom and will air on their streaming service, the WWE Network.

WWE has already announced a few matches for this upcoming show. One of those bouts includes Niven taking on NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray and Toni Storm in a triple threat title match.

Nick Aldis Talks NWA Into The Fire PPV, Jim Cornette’s Departure

0

Nick Aldis will defend his NWA World Heavyweight Championship against James Storm tonight on PPV. The NWA presents “Into the Fire” tonight from the GPB Studios in Atlanta, GA. Aldis was a guest recently on VOC Nation’s In the Room podcast.

During the conversation, Aldis talked about the situation involving Jim Cornette.

“I have defended Jim (in the past) for stuff that was in my opinion recreational outrage…it doesn’t come down to that; what it comes down to is being a distraction. We’ve got an hour to make an impression and get everyone talking and wanting to tune in next week. If all everyone is talking about is arguing and wanting a different commentator, it puts us in a difficult spot….we thank Jim for everything he did; ultimately he can go back to his podcast and say whatever the hell he wants, and we don’t have to worry about it anymore.”

Aldis also spoke about tonight’s PPV:

“We’ve been blown away with the pre-sale and the numbers and the interest and everything. It’s an indication that business is still on the up…Everyone is focused on that one thing, growth; we need to keep building brick by brick.”

He also addressed his opponent tonight, James Storm.

“When we talk about (someone) who embodies the spirit what we are trying to achieve with the NWA, James is right at the top of the list in many ways. You’re talking about a guy who knows how to tell stories in the ring, have great matches, and whether you like him or not, he’s a guy who has 100% conviction and believes in who he is. He’s as brash, outgoing, and gregarious as a wrestler should be in many ways…He’s wrestled a who’s who of the industry, and is a who’s who of the industry in many ways himself. He’s a seasoned professional.”

Eric Bischoff Reacts To NWO Hall of Fame Induction

1

WWE announced this week that the New World Order faction will be inducted into the Hall of Fame next year. The NWO will be represented by Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & Syxx-Pac (Sean Waltman). Eric Bischoff played a key role in the NWO angle both on-screen and behind the scenes but was not included in the group being inducted.

“The nWo is the storyline, the angle, the moment that storyline was conceived and as it became executed, was probably one of the most important periods in professional wrestling, in this industry, in the last 30 years,” Bischoff said recently on his 83 Weeks podcast.

Does Eric Bischoff Think He Should Be Inducted With The NWO?

Sean Waltman recently discussed Bischoff’s omission from the group being included on his “X-Pac 12 360” podcast.

“I don’t even know who chooses, or how people are chosen to go into the Hall of Fame, but whatever it is, it’s very subjective,” Bischoff said. “There’s reasons behind it, there’s feelings behind it, there’s emotion behind it, there’s facts behind it, and I have no idea how those choices are made. I don’t think anybody should be in the Hall of Fame.”

Bischoff responded to Waltman’s comments on the matter as well.

“That’s nice of him to say, but he’s not calling the shots, so it really doesn’t matter. I wish he was. That’d be great. I’d like to hang out with my buddies at WrestleMania, that’d be wonderful, but I don’t worry about that. I knew as soon as I saw that, I go, ‘Oh my gosh, my Twitter feed is going to be overloaded with comments about this, I’m going to be dealing with it now for weeks.’ But I love those guys. Those four guys, especially Hulk, these are guys that I have deep affection for, and respect for, so I couldn’t be happier.”

5 Takeaways From WWE SmackDown (12/13)

0

The December 13, 2019 episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI. It was the final episode of SmackDown before WWE TLC this Sunday night. In addition to the takeaways below, Elias performed a Christmas song for SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley during tonight’s show.

Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s episode of SmackDown:

Kofi Kingston Interrupted King Corbin

kofi corbin smack 12 13

King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler kicked off this week’s episode of SmackDown as security surrounded the ring. Corbin said that he smelled something and Ziggler suggested that it was the dog food that they dumped on Roman Reigns.

Corbin boasted defeating Kurt Angle at WrestleMania and winning the King of the Ring Tournament. King Corbin vowed to finish humiliating Roman this Sunday at the PPV in the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. Corbin added that SmackDown will be his to rule as the sole leader.

The crowd chanted “you look stupid!” at Corbin as he claimed that Roman Reigns is not showing up tonight. Corbin added that the entire SmackDown locker room agrees with his actions last week and Dolph was here to speak on their behalf. Ziggler complimented Corbin for beating Reigns down last week.

New Day interrupted and King Corbin mocked Kingston for losing to Lesnar in a couple of seconds. Kofi complimented Corbin on having a heck of a year but it wasn’t as good as winning the WWE Champion at WrestleMania. Kingston added that he held the title for six months and defeated Ziggler.

Kofi stated that he didn’t complain on social media after losing, he picked himself up and now New Day are once again the tag champions. Big E and Kingston got into the ring and Kofi joked that Corbin does look stupid. Kingston told Corbin that he is not a true king and that what he did to Reigns was disrespectful. King Corbin told Kofi that he has had one good day in his entire career and Kingston responded with a slap to the face. Corbin vowed to humiliate Kingston tonight.

Cross & Bliss Dominated

Bliss Cross

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville attacked Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross during a backstage interview. The brawl led all the way down to the ring and the two teams had a tag match.

Deville hit Nikki with a Dropkick and tagged Mandy Rose in. Mandy connected with a knee to the face and went for the cover but Nikki kicked out at two. Sonya tagged in and continued to beat Cross down. Alexa dragged Mandy out of the ring and Nikki connected with the Swinging Neckbreaker on Sonya for the quick win.

The Revival Put Their Best Foot Forward Tonight

dash wilder fall

Ali and Shorty G battled The Revival tonight on SmackDown. Dash Wilder fell during The Revival’s entrance and laughed it off by saying that its his new gimmick.

https://twitter.com/DashWilderWWE/status/1205673266477752320?s=20

Shorty G rolled up Dash for a near fall. Wilder connected with a Backbreaker and tagged Dawson in. Scott climbed to the top rope as Wilder lifted Shorty up in the Electric Chair. Dawson leaped but Shorty G countered into a Belly to Belly Suplex. Ali hit a Hurricanrana that sent Wilder tumbling out of the ring as SmackDown went to a commercial break.

When SmackDown returned, Ali and Shorty G were still in control. Dawson battled back and planted Shorty G with a Powerbomb for a near fall. Ali hit Dash with a 450 Splash and all for superstars were down. Ali went for a Crossbody but The Revival countered into the Shatter Machine for the victory. The Revival will face New Day this Sunday night for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in a Ladder Match.

Wilder falling and everyone cracking up was absolutely hilarious. Despite the match feeling like a bit of an afterthought, New Day and The Revival have the potential to steal the show at the PPV Sunday.

Bray Wyatt Continued To Play Mind Games With Miz

miz smackdown 12 13

Renee Young interviewed The Miz tonight at Miz’s house. The Miz stated that he has no idea where Daniel Bryan is right now. Renee wondered why The Miz was behind Daniel Bryan now and rolled footage from their epic argument on Talking Smack in 2016.

The Miz said that they bring out the best and the worst in each other. Miz noted that he understands how valuable Bryan is to SmackDown but he respects him and it is finally time for The Miz to do the ring.

Miz stated that Bray Wyatt crossed a line last week on SmackDown and that his family is the most important thing to him. Renee asked Miz if he was afraid of Bray Wyatt but was interrupted by Maryse screaming. A video of Monroe (Miz & Maryse’s daughter) playing with puppets from the Firefly Fun House appeared. Miz and Maryse ran to her room and ripped the blonde doll away from her and demanded that the camera crew leave.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1205670706924707841?s=20

A new episode of the Firefly Fun House then aired. Wyatt claimed that Bryan was still with The Fiend and that pain is not a real thing, it is just a chemical reaction in your brain. Wyatt bounced his head off the table and started laughing. Wyatt said that he can teach Miz how to not feel pain and love, all he has to do was let him in. Bray then hilariously shouted that Marine 5 was fire and told Miz that he will see him at TLC.

I thought this was great and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens on Sunday night. The story line between Bray, Miz, and Daniel Bryan has been the best part of SmackDown for a few weeks now. WWE has also been advertising a “makeover” for Liv Morgan recently.

Roman Reigns Got Some Revenge Heading Into The PPV

roman reigns smackdown 12 13

King Corbin squared off against Kofi Kingston tonight on SmackDown. Throughout the episode, members of Corbin’s security team were attacked.

Big E, Ziggler, and Corbin’s security team were ringside for the match. Kingston dominated early and leaped onto Corbin outside the ring as SmackDown went to a break.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1205678725976772608?s=20

When SmackDown returned, Corbin launched Kofi to the to the outside and posed as the crowd booed. Corbin bashed Kingston into the barricade and rolled back into the ring to break the referee’s count.

Back in the ring, Corbin hit Kofi with a massive right hand to the face and Kingston fell to the apron. Corbin once again posed and the crowd loudly chanted “Corbin sucks!”. The crowd then got behind Kofi as Corbin continued to beat him down.

Kingston battled back with a few punches but Corbin caught him with an elbow to the face for a two count. The crowd transitioned into a “Burger King!” chant directed at King Corbin as Kofi caught Corbin with an elbow to the face. Kingston connected with an SOS and went for the cover but Corbin was able to kick out at the last moment.

Kofi hit the Boom Drop and then geared up in the corner of the ring as the crowd chanted “New Day rocks!”. Ziggler grabbed Kofi’s leg and got tossed out from ringside. Dolph made his way up the entrance ramp and to the backstage area. Dolph rushed back down to the ring and a brawl broke out.

The match ended in a DQ as the brawl continued. Several WWE officials ran down to ringside and tried to seperate the superstars. Big E leveled Ziggler with a Clothesline and asked for a microphone. Big E suggested a tag team match and Corbin accepted as SmackDown went to another commercial break.

Back from the break, Dolph and Corbin were in control and had Big E trapped in the corner of the ring. Dolph hit the Fameasser and went for the cover but Big E kicked out at two. Corbin tagged in and launched Big E into the turnbuckle. Big E battled back with a Belly to Belly Suplex and both superstars fell to the canvas.

Kingston and Ziggler tagged in and Kofi connected with a Dropkick. Corbin hit Kofi with a Clothesline and Ziggler leveled Big E with a Superkick outside the ring. Ziggler slid handcuffs into the ring and Corbin put them on Kofi as the match ended in another DQ.

Ziggler dragged Kingston to the outside as the WWE Universe chanted for Roman. Ziggler and Corbin trapped Kingston on the ring post and King hit Kofi with the scepter. The Revival rushed the ring and planted Big E with the Shatter Machine.

Corbin brought out the dog food again but The Big Dog’s music hit. Reigns plowed through Corbin’s security team and then beat The Revival down. Roman sent two security members flying over the barricade but Dawson and Wilder attacked him once again.

Reigns took them out with a Superman Punch and delivered another one to Ziggler. Corbin attacked Reigns from behind and tried to hit him with the scepter but Roman countered with another Superman Punch. Reigns grabbed the scepter and the can of dog food.

Ziggler leveled Reigns with a Superkick and The Revival set up Roman on a table. Ziggler climbed up a ladder but Big E broke it up. Reigns climbed the ladder and Chokeslammed Dolph through the table as the crowd erupted. Corbin retreated up the entrance ramp as Reigns stood tall in the ring.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1205683198220484609?s=20

I really enjoyed this week’s episode of SmackDown and it was a solid go-home show for WWE TLC this Sunday. Roman didn’t get a mixed reaction from the crowd tonight, the crowd was fully behind him when he came to the ring. I wasn’t all that excited about TLC just a couple of weeks ago but credit to WWE for doing a good job of building up the show recently.

“UFC needs to pay up and if they don’t pay up after this fight you will probably see me in WWE. This is it. I’m putting my foot down. I am willing to retire after Saturday night and go to WWE forever and leave this stupid corrupt business behind.”

Charlotte Flair On Having A Disconnect With Becky Lynch As Tag Partner

2

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have some tension between them which has become apparent recently since they started tagging together.

On WWE After The Bell, Corey Graves had commented that Charlotte has been “going through the motions” in her current program with Becky Lynch on Raw. While he was criticized for his comments by fans, Charlotte defended him and appeared on this week’s podcast to address the comments.

Charlotte talked about the disconnect between her and her partner Lynch. She said that it would be unrealistic to expect from her to only be featured in main event stories on WWE.

Charlotte revealed that she was fine with this and she works as needed for the progress of a storyline.

Regarding her friendship with Becky Lynch, The Queen told the podcast that her character is an evil queen and she does not need friends. Charlotte is someone who thinks she’s above everyone else, and that’s where the disconnect between the two is.

Corey Graves had suggested that women are not receiving as much attention as they used to in the company. To this, Charlotte Flair defended the company against these allegations and said that the creative team is doing a great job of writing storylines for female wrestlers, which enable the performers to attract and engage fans with the audiences.

Matt Riddle went after Goldberg once again on social media.

There is some history between Riddle and Goldberg as Riddle has been outspoken about the WWE Hall of Famer.

WWE released a preview clip for the episode of Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin that will air this Sunday and feature Goldberg, who will talk about a wide range of topics.

The clip features a quick round of word association that saw Goldberg stating that owes Taker a receipt. Riddle saw the clip and responded on Twitter:

Matt Riddle Shares Story Of Interaction With Goldberg At SummerSlam

Riddle and Goldberg’s comments about The Undertaker involves the contest that saw Goldberg share the squared circle with Taker.

The match between Goldberg and The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event back in June had received a ton of criticism from fans. The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances.

During the match, Goldberg ended up being busted open and suffering a concussion. Taker dropped Goldberg on his head while attempting a tombstone and Goldberg botched the jackhammer.

Riddle has also voiced his take about Goldberg and how he doesn’t like Goldberg’s style of wrestling.

John Cena On Why He Follows So Many People’s Accounts On Twitter

2

John Cena recently spoke to Sports Illustrated and talked about his Twitter presence. He discussed the use of social media and particularly Twitter and why he started following so many random people’s accounts on the website.

Cena is a bit interesting when it comes to social media usage. His Instagram account is particularly weird, where he posts random images usually. He would sometimes also post cryptic images hinting to something he’s going to do in the future, and none of his posts have a caption.

On Twitter, Cena posts inspirational messages and advice. He is also often asked if his tweets are directed at a particular person because of this. Cena has also started following seemingly random accounts on Twitter, and he explains why he chose to do it.

“I know that social media is most times a difficult, argumentative, and negative place, Twitter especially, because of the ability to hide behind the text,” said Cena. “So what can I do? Send out good stuff, be honest with everybody, and then follow people that relate to the good stuff.

“If I follow someone who is a ‘negative’ person on Twitter—their profile reads sarcastic, skeptic—and they like my tweets? They’re not who they say they are, or they have a chance to change. If the experiment fails, so be it, but it’s just me trying to use my presence to tip the balance.”

So there you have it. Cena believes in authenticity and he follows others because he knows that there is a notion that people get happy when Cena follows them. He tries to follow people who relate to his messages and spread positivity with his huge reach.

Seth Rollins On Who He Wants To Get Inducted By In WWE Hall Of Fame: “Maybe Triple H”

3

As reported before, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch were guests at the Gorilla Position Live event in London, where they answered several fan questions.

A question was posed to Seth Rollins, regarding his future WWE Hall of Fame induction. Rollins was asked who he would like to get inducted by into the HOF. He thought for a few seconds and said “Maybe Triple H.”

Seth Rollins and Triple H has had quite a bit of history between them. Back in 2014, Rollins betrayed his brethren of the Shield and turned on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. He then joined Triple H and became the corporate star.

Rollins was on top of the company because of his alliance with Triple H, until Triple H turned on Rollins and helped Kevin Owens win the Universal Championship. Triple H labelled Rollins as an abject failure despite of all the chances he was given. This culminated into a match at WrestleMania 33, which Rollins won.

On Gorilla Position, the duo were asked many other questions. They were asked who their current crush was, to which Becky Lynch replied named Jeff Hardy. Host James Delow mocked Rollins by saying “Seth said Finn Balor”, and The Architect jokingly agreed to it. He also said that Jeff Hardy is his crush too.

Meanwhile Rollins was also asked who he thinks will induct Lynch into the Hall of Fame. Becky named Finn Balor, and Rollins replied to her answer in a jovial vein by replying that he thought it was Charlotte Flair who would induct her.

Eric Bischoff Talks Why He Didn’t Fit In During Last WWE Run

3

Eric Bischoff didn’t last long in his role as Executive Director of Smackdown for WWE. Bischoff’s hiring was announced by WWE in June and he was gone from the company in October. He spoke to Konnan on the “Keepin it 100” podcast recently.

“My way of looking at the business is different,” Bischoff said on the show. “My approach to creative is probably significantly different and I just don’t think it was a good fit.”

Bischoff then talked about when he knew things weren’t working out between he and WWE.

“There was a moment or two I guess while I was there the first couple of months. I think the first month and a half in particular where I went home and I told my wife Laurie, do not fall in love, do not fall in love with the furniture, do not fall in love with anything you buy here. We came here in a 5×8 U-Haul trailer, we’re going to leave here in a 5×8 U-Haul trailer, we may be leaving sooner than you think. That thought crossed my mind early on and I was right.”

Bischoff’s comments about his last run in WWE can be heard in the player below:

AJ Styles, Sting, & Jeff Jarrett Debate TNA’s 6-Sided Ring

2

From 2004 to 2010, TNA Wrestling used a 6-sided ring. Some fans loved the unique feel to the ring but others were less enthusiastic. During WWE Network’s recent Table for 3 episode with Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and AJ Styles, the 3 former TNA stars talked about the polarizing 6-sided ring.

“Internally, that was a nightmare battle,” Jarrett said about getting the 6-sided ring approved.

“I hated it,” Sting said. “Too many years wrestling in the squared circle.”

“I told Hulk that,” Jarrett continued. “I said ‘why do you hate it?’ and he said ‘ah brother, it’s just not right.'”

“It’s the only thing that got us shelf space in the toy market,” Jarrett continued. “They didn’t care about action figures, they didn’t care about talent, ‘oh you got a 6-sided ring? That will sell, we want it.'”

“I grew to love it,” Styles said. “I thought it made us so different from anything anybody else was seeing. It was kind of like with cagefighting, it looked like that. It made it more sports-oriented being so different to that box ring. We had 6-sides and looked like MMA kind of, it was different. I loved that look to the point where when I heard we were going to lose it, I was mad.”

“You and a few others were vocal,” Jarrett said to Styles.

“I wasn’t complaining when it was gone,” Sting added.

AEW Reportedly Signs The Beaver Boys

3

All Elite Wrestling has reportedly added another tag team to their roster. John Silver and Alex Reynolds, who are known collectively as The Beaver Boys, have been signed to the promotion. This comes from a report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The Beaver Boys have worked two matches as enhancement talent, where they lost to Proud N’ Powerful, and Best Friends on AEW Dynamite.

Alex Reynolds was featured in a vignette on AEW Dynamite, where he was approached by The Dark Order. He was offered to join if he wanted to stop losing, with Evil Uno making an appearance in the vignette.

This was after Reynolds lost in a squash match to Jon Moxley in under 14 seconds.

The Beaver Boys have been a mainstay in the indies and worked for promotions like Beyond Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), New York Wrestling Connection (NYCW), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where they have captured the tag team championships.

They have even made an appearance in the WWE where they wrestled a match with Heavy Machinery, albeit with a different ring name. John Silver used the name Johhny Silver, and Alex Reynolds wrestled under Alex Keaton.

It will be interesting to see what The Beaver Boys do in AEW and what plans the company has for them going forward.

7 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (12/11)

Ryback Says He’s Returning To Wrestling Next Year

1

The Big Guy wants to be fed more. Ryback sat down recently for an interview with Chris Van Vliet and said he plans to return to wrestling in 2020. He talked about how recent stem cell treatments have left his back feeling great and when he’s healthy enough, he plans on making the call to return.

“I’ve been told I have a meeting (with WWE) whenever I want,” Ryback said. “Now, how true that is, I don’t know, don’t really care. Getting my health back is my main priority.”

He did say he does not want to return to a hectic wrestling schedule, however.

“I never want to return to it 4-5 days a week,” he said. “People always ask, when I’m healthy and when I know when I’m going to be available, I will pick up the phone and make a phone call and we’ll go from there.”

He continued to say his first priority is his Feed Me More nutrition, however.

Ryback also mentioned that he and Vince McMahon’s brother Rod McMahon are friends.

“Me and Rod are friends and he goes ‘Well, Vince always speaks very highly about you,'” Ryback said during the interview.

Ryback Legally Changes His Name To Ryback

Ryback has legally changed his name to Ryback to combat any trademark issues with WWE. His birth name is Ryan, which he says made the decision easier for him.

“I didn’t necessarily want to do that,” Ryback said. “If my wrestling name was Grizzly Bear, I wasn’t going to change my name to that more likely than not. I looked at it like Ryback/Ryan, that’s not too bad.”

He then mentioned that he’s spoken to Mark Carrano from WWE recently, asking them to drop their trademark filing for Ryback.

“I actually sent Mark Carrano a message last week, nothing mean, just ‘I would really appreciate it if you guys dropped this on your own. I’m going to be really upset if you don’t.'”

Ryback also discusses AEW, the state of wrestling, and much more. The full interview can be viewed in the player below:

Seth Rollins Reveals Vince McMahon Asked Him A “Personal Question” About Becky Lynch

2

Former Universal Champion Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch appeared as guests on Gorilla Position Live in London. They both answered a bunch of questions from fans and Rollins shared an amusing interaction that he had with Vince McMahon regarding Becky Lynch, which almost led him to think that he might have to fight his boss.

Rollins revealed that McMahon was interested in knowing if his girlfriend Lynch had gotten a tan after vacationing in Hawaii together.

“So my story with Vince is a recent one, there are so many to pick from, but actually it involves her. So, we took like our first vacation ever. Actually it’s where I proposed to her. We spent two weeks in Hawaii, which, ah, amazing. We hadn’t taken a Monday off in, ever, right? So we took a Monday off for a vacation, and when we came back, I was sitting with Vince. We were talking about something and we were done, and I was about to leave, and he goes, ‘Can I ask you a personal question? Did Becky get a tan?’ I was like, ‘Yeah she’ll tell you, she identifies as a tan person now.’ She got a great tan in Hawaii, but yeah just the way he phrased it, I was like, ‘Oh no, how is this going to go. Am I gonna fight Vince McMahon right now?'”

While Rollins didn’t state what the boss’ intentions were behind the question, but the fact that no confrontation happened between the two suggests that McMahon didn’t mean any harm by the comment.

Darby Allin Explains Why He Helped Cody On Dynamite

0

Darby Allin came out to help Cody Rhodes this week on Dynamite. Cody and Allin wrestled each other to a time-limit draw at Fyter Fest this summer and according to Allin, he wants to team with Cody to take on the Butcher and the Blade. Should they be victorious, Allin wants Cody to give him a rematch.

“On June 29th 2019 I made my debut for @AEWrestling. Me and Cody had a time limit draw. I never forgot that. You need a partner for butcher and blade? I’ll join you and if we win you give me that REMATCH,” Allin Tweeted.

Cody & Darby Allin vs the Butcher and the Blade?

QT Marshall teamed with Cody this week on Dynamite in losing fashion to the Butcher and the Blade. Cody had allowed the newly debuting tag team to pick his partner for him but does he stand a better chance with Darby Allin as his partner?

22-year-old Darby Allin challenged for the AEW World title on the 3rd episode of Dynamite, losing to Chris Jericho. He holds a 4-3-1 single’s record and is 0-1 in trios matches.

Cody also unsuccessfully challenged Jericho for the title at Full Gear. He holds a 4-1-1 record in single’s matches and is 0-2 in tag matches.

NXT Reportedly Set To Be Involved At WrestleMania 36

3

NXT has now been established as a separate third brand of its own, rather than a training ground for new wrestlers. The black and gold brand was present at Survivor Series when it beat both the two main brands – Raw and SmackDown. While the three brands are now back to their own business, it looks like NXT will have another opportunity to be involved with the main roster – that is on WrestleMania 36.

According to the Twitter account WrestleVotes, which has broken multiple stories in the past, NXT is set to be involved in WrestleMania 36 on the main card in April next year.

The TakeOver event before WrestleMania 36 will still take place, as Triple H unveiled the logo and teased the coming of NXT TakeOver: Tampa. You can check out his tweet below:

WWE is also reportedly making plans for the 2020 Royal Rumble matches, and NXT wrestlers will be participating in the battle royale matches for both the men’s and women’s division, according to a report by Wrestling Observer Live.

While there will be no Takeover event accompanying Royal Rumble this year, WWE has announced a Worlds Collide event which will see stars from NXT and NXT UK competing against each other the night before the PPV. As for the Royal Rumble, WWE is considering adding 10 NXT stars into the battle royale matches.

It would be interesting to see how WWE handles the brand from here on, and if we’ll get to see the third brand incorporated more in the major PPV events.

Sean Waltman Doesn’t Want WWE Hall Of Fame Induction As Singles Wrestler

2

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, who was inducted this year into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the stable D-Generation X, is set to go again in 2020 as member of New World Order. While Sean thinks that it’s ridiculous that he was inducted back to back twice as part of the stables that he was in, he doesn’t want to be inducted as a solo act.

Speaking to Afterbuzz TV (via WrestlingInc), Sean Waltman revealed that he heard the news about his induction when he got a phone call from Mark Carrano. Waltman almost didn’t want to answer the call, as a call from Carrano usually means one’s in trouble. But the multi-time champion is glad he picked up the phone.

When asked if he would like to get inducted as a solo performer, Sean Waltman said that he has no aspirations whatsoever to stand up on the stage and be inducted for his singles career. He feels happy with how things are going for him right now.

“To be a part of something bigger and greater than yourself is just an amazing feeling to me, and I don’t need that. I don’t need ‘me, me, me’, what about me? I got plenty of me,” said X-Pac. “I’m just happy to be a part of something greater than me.”

The 2020 WWE Hall of Fame would be headlined with the induction of nWO, comprised of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and of course, X-Pac. They would join Batista in getting the honor with their inclusion next year. The 2020 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Thursday, April 2nd at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida as a part of WrestleMania 36 week.

Saudi Arabian Journalist Discusses WWE’s Travel Issues In The Country

7

The most recent WWE event that took place in Saudi Arabia, Crown Jewel, and it garnered a lot of unwanted headlines as part of a travel delays controversy.

After the event ended on 31 October, it was reported that the flight which was expected to carry almost 200 WWE personnel, experienced a major delay which WWE attributed to mechanical issues.

WrestlingInc did an interview with a Saudi Arabian journalist Mr. King, who talked about the topic on the WINCLY podcast.

A lot of rumors and speculation filled the internet around the issue. According to initial reports from Dave Meltzer and former WWE commentator Hugo Savinovich, the Prince of Saudi Arabia was allegedly furious that Vince McMahon cancelled the live feed of Crown Jewel as the company was owed up to millions of dollars for previous shows. This lead to the Saudi Crown Prince stopping WWE’s chartered plane from leaving the country in retaliation. The company, however, has denied this in a statement.

Mr. King was asked about the delay in broadcast, and he revealed that the delay did happen and the broadcast was around thirty to forty minutes late.

“I heard about it because when I came home my family told me I was taking photos of something that they weren’t watching on TV. I was taking pictures of something earlier,” said King. There was a delay of maybe 30-40 minutes.”

Mr. King was then asked about the travel issue and he said that while there is no official statement on it, he believes it to be a paperwork problem. “When you take a piece of work for a couple of days and your flight didn’t take you out of the country, it’s a little bit of a problem. There’s a hotel inside the airport and they slept there and took another flight,” he said.

King also said that he thinks that there really was a problem with the plane.
“I think the problem was the plane itself. The team stopped it and said this plane is not safe for you to leave. Thank God they noticed this before they left because it would have been a huge problem if something happened.”
