Total Bellas Returning Without John Cena

0

You can’t see John Cena on the new season of Total Bellas.

WWE and the E! Network have announced Total Bellas is returning in January. Season 4 premieres on Sunday, January 13th at 9pm ET. For the first time since the show’s inception, John Cena will not be a regular cast member. In fact, one of the main storyline arcs of the upcoming season will be Nikki Bella’s return to the dating scene for the first time in nearly a decade. Sister Brie will play “matchmaker” for Nikki by setting her up with new potential love interests.

Other storylines advertised for the new season:

– The Bella Twins return to the ring with renewed focus and fervor to begin the road to WWE’s first-ever all women’s pay-per-view event, WWE Evolution.

– Brie and Bryan discuss expanding their family, but with both of them back to in-ring competition and away from Birdie, they must decide if now is the right time to add another baby into the mix.

– Nikki, seeking a change, spontaneously decides she wants to move to Los Angeles, but these plans are put on hold when WWE asks Brie and Nikki to compete at Evolution. Nikki decides to plant her roots in San Diego where she can train with Brie for WWE’s historic event.

– Brie and Bryan talk about trying for baby number two, but Brie has reservations she isn’t sharing with her husband.

Charlotte Flair Is Waiting For ‘Round Two’ With Ronda Rousey

2

Ronda Rousey can’t wait to get her hands on Charlotte Flair again. The path these two found to one another was certainly an interesting one. Rousey, the RAW Women’s Champion, was set to face SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at Survivor Series. However, due to Lynch’s broken nose and concussion, she was forced off the show.

As a result, Flair was selected to serve as Lynch’s replacement and represent SmackDown Live. Flair and Rousey actually put on a very competitive match, but for whatever reason, Flair decided to get herself disqualified. She pulled out a kendo stick and began to viciously attack Rousey with it. The following Monday on RAW, Rousey vowed to get her revenge on “The Queen” at some point.

It looks like Flair isn’t shying away from the challenge. She recently took to Twitter to issue out a message to “The Rowdy One.” Sharing a photo of her attack on Rousey at Survivor Series, Flair suggested she’s ready for “round two” with the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion:

“Whenever you are ready for round two, Ken and I will be waiting.

What do you think about Flair calling out Rousey for “round two”?

First City To Receive New XFL Team Announced

13

The XFL is set to kick off in 2020, and the league is finally beginning to take shape. McMahon made the announcement of the league’s revival earlier this year. McMahon said he and the XFL wanted to ‘reimagine’ football. Exactly what that means is unclear, however, talk of rule changes and shortening the game were mentioned.

With that being said, after the initial announcement of the league, and hiring former NFL star Oliver Luck as the league’s commissioner, not much news about the XFL has come out. Now, however, it appears the first city to receive a team for the 2020 league has been announced. Per a report from KSDK, St. Louis is the first city to be receiving an XFL team.

The remaining seven cities are expected to be announced next week. Up until 2015 St. Louis was the host city to the NFL’s Rams. However, they soon departed and opted to move to Los Angles instead. The report states St. Louis’ XFL team will play 10 regular season games, with five being played at the Dome at America’s Center.

McMahon has put quite a financial interest into the new venture and is expected to have paid half a billion dollars after the first three years of operations. “The Chairman of The Board” sold $100 million to fund the XFL’s parent company, Alpha Entertainment. Per an SEC filing, WWE is listed as a minority owner of the XFL.

What other cities do you think will be receiving XFL teams?

Matt Hardy Confirms He’ll Wrestle In WWE Again

0

It looks like reports suggesting Matt Hardy is done inside the ring might have been premature. Following a run with Bray Wyatt as the RAW Tag Team Champions, Matt began a hiatus from WWE TV. He instead began working backstage in various roles, including working as an agent and producing matches. While Hardy is preparing for the next chapter of his career in the business, he hasn’t completely shut the door on competing.

Recently, Hardy responded to a Tweet presenting a fun fact about his career and Mr. Perfect’s. The Tweet suggested that Mr. Perfect’s last match in WWE was actually against Matt Hardy. In turn, Matt’s last match in the ring involved Perfect’s son, Curtis Axel. Hardy responded to the Tweet, saying he hasn’t wrestled his last match in WWE quite yet.

He attached some photos of his young sons, suggesting the history of Hardys facing Hennigs inside the ring will continue on further:

“My last  match hasn’t happened yet, so this particular cycle shall be .. But I’m sure the DELIGHTFUL cycle of Hardys & Hennigs doing battle shall continue in the future.”

Who do you want to see Matt work with when he makes his return to the ring?

Daniel Bryan Responds To AJ Styles’ Promo From Smackdown

0

Daniel Bryan wasn’t on Smackdown last night. Former WWE Champion AJ Styles remarked that perhaps Bryan has been watching Raw and was hoping to have a schedule which more closely resembles that of the Universal Champion’s. Styles also mentioned that Bryan was not on the WWE live event schedule this weekend either.

Bryan responded to Styles’ comments earlier today on Twitter:

“The old Daniel Bryan wrestled 227 matches in a calendar year, much more than AJ has ever done in his career. Shortly thereafter he needed neck surgery. The New Daniel Bryan is above that sort of masochism.”

Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles at TLC

Styles mentioned on Smackdown last night that he was not medically cleared to compete at Survivor Series or on Smackdown last week due to injuries suffered during Bryan’s post-match attack. Not long after losing the WWE Championship, however, Styles posted the following to Twitter:

“The thing about being a real Champion, a reigning, DEFENDING champion is that any day someone can beat you. But holding the title is more than just wins and losses, it’s about who you are as a man. Daniel showed us that last night. And the receipt is coming.

AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan Head-To-Head Stats

Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles have met in single’s action 8 times, 3 in WWE, 3 in ROH, 1 in PWG, and once for IWA Mid-South. Outside of WWE, Styles leads the series 3-2. In WWE, they are tied at 1-1-1.

What Happened After SmackDown Live?, Ronda Rousey Reaches WWE Milestone

0

What Happened After SmackDown Live?

Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles teamed up against Samoa Joe and Randy Orton in the dark main event after Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown Live went off the air on the USA Network in Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center. Hardy pinned Joe to send the crowd home happy.

The televised main event featured the Women’s battle royal, which was won by Asuka, who earned her way into the triple threat match for the SmackDown Women’s Title at TLC. You can see a photo from the dark main event here:

Ronda Rousey Reaches WWE Milestone

An interesting stat about WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has surfaced online. She has held the title for 100 straight days and now joins Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair as those who have held this title for 100 or more consecutive days.

Today, @RondaRousey reaches 100 straight days as the @WWE #RAW Women’s Champion. Rousey joins @AlexaBliss_WWE and @MsCharlotteWWE as Superstars who have held this title for 100 or more consecutive days.

Rousey is slated to make her next title defense against Nia Jax at the TLC pay-per-view event that takes place on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 in San Jose, California at the SAP Center.

Steve Austin Thinks Ric Flair Should Be Considered The GOAT

6

Prior to interviewing fellow WWE Hall of Famer Ric flair on a recent episode of his podcast, Steve Austin pitched his case as to why Ric Flair should be considered the greatest of all time [GOAT] in the world of pro wrestling.

The former WWE Champion stated that if you know anything about professional wrestling, you know about Flair. “If you have any common sense, Ric Flair is the greatest professional wrestler that ever lived.”

He continued by stating that when you look at his body of work, all of the world title defenses, promos and in-ring skills, then everyone should know that Flair is the man. Austin stated that he tried to basically pattern the beginning part of his career after Flair, which is a sign of how big of an influence he was on Austin.

He sees Flair to be one of the toughest men he’s ever met in his life due to all of the spots that he has done and living the lifestyle that Flair had then he was burning the candle at so many ends and what a glorious career he had. He brought up how Flair did that for nearly 40 years.

Austin brought up how there shouldn’t be any discussion of how good Flair is. “Yeah, he is that good. He’s the greatest to have ever done it.”

NXT & 205 Live Preview 11/28

0

The WWE Network will present an episode of 205 Live and NXT tonight. 205 Live could get moved back to their live Tuesday night timeslot next month, however, as the Mixed Match Challenge is scheduled to finish at the TLC PPV.

NXT 11/28 Preview

Tonight’s episode of NXT was filmed at a San Jose house show on the 15th. WWE will be back in San Jose next month for TLC.

Keith Lee vs Lars Sullivan

A battle of heavyweights tonight. Sullivan is main roster-bound but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll lose to Lee tonight. Lee is someone who could have a big future ahead of him in NXT and WWE as well so it’ll be interesting to see who comes out looking stronger in this clash tonight.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs the Mighty

The NXT tag-team division will see Burch and Lorcan take on Australia’s the Mighty tonight. The Mighty have seen better results since they started breaking the rules but tonight they’ll be in tough against the hard-nosed team of Burch and Lorcan.

EC3 vs Marcel Barthel

EC3 could use a win after being bounced out of title contention before the last Takeover. He was also the target of an attack by the Undisputed Era which took him out of action for a few weeks. You can’t keep the top 1% down for long, however, and EC3 starts his road back to the top of the men’s singles division tonight.

Mia Yim vs Vanessa Borne

Mia Yim took a loss to Bianca Belair her last match out. In fairness, only Nikki Cross has faced Belair in NXT and managed to avoid taking a loss. Vanessa Borne has been progressing as of late, however, and won’t let Mia Yim get back in the win column so easily.

205 Live 11/28 Preview

Hideo Itami Returns

Hideo Itami has not wrestled since being defeated by Mustafa Ali in a Falls Count Anywhere match to blow-off their rivalry. Itami will be in single’s action tonight but his opponent has yet to be named, likely meaning they are enhancement talent.

Mustafa Ali & Cedric Alexander vs Tony Nese & Buddy Murphy

Things are tight atop the Cruiserweight division at the moment. Murphy’s reign as champ has included just the one title defense against Mustafa Ali thus far but a new challenger could emerge in this match here. Alexander has never received a rematch from his loss to Murphy in Australia and Alexander had previously defeated Murphy in a title defense as well. Their trilogy bout could be upcoming. On the other hand, Tony Nese recently defeated Alexander, so he could be in line for a shot at his training partner’s belt.

Jesse Ventura Talks WWE Return, WrestleMania In Minneapolis, Trump

3

Former WWE Superstar and Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura spoke to TMZ Sports this week and had some newsworthy things to say about his future in pro wrestling and politics.

It’s been rumored that WrestleMania 36 will take place from Ventura’s home town of Minneapolis. The 66-year-old said he’s in great physical shape and teased that he could be part of WrestleMania one more time.

“I’m just telling you I’m in fighting shape,” Ventura said as he pulled up his shirt and showed off his abs. WWE has yet to announce which city will host WrestleMania in 2020, but Ventura says the company will bring the show to Minneapolis “if they’re smart.”

“I ain’t saying I am [wrestling again] but I’m just saying [WrestleMania] is in Minneapolis,” Ventura said. “If they were smart, if they’re smart, I’m not saying they’re smart.”

Ventura vs. Trump?

Jesse Ventura isn’t ruling out a Presidential run in 2020, either. In fact, Ventura said if he does run, President Trump won’t have a chance against him.

“If I do do it, Trump will not have a chance,” Ventura said. “For one, Trump knows wrestling. He participated in two Wrestlemanias. He knows he can never out-talk a wrestler, and he knows I’m the greatest talker wrestling’s ever had.”

jv djt

Ventura also mentioned in the video he is getting a lot of interest from the Green Party about possibly running for President. His main points of focus are renewable energy and cannabis legalization.

Joey Mercury’s Lawyers Issue Statement On Dismissed Charges

2

Joey Mercury was able to prove he was not responsible for a series of fraudulent credit card purchases recently. Mercury was arrested over All In Weekend in Chicago when it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant from Florida. His passport records and proof of him participating at wrestling events during the time in which the crimes happened led to charges against him being dismissed yesterday, however.

Just because the charges were dismissed and Mercury was proven innocent doesn’t mean he hasn’t suffered as a result, however. The arrest led to Mercury not being able to work as an agent for All In. Reports of his arrest, even though he was innocent, could also have potentially prevented other promoters from booking Joey.

Mercury’s lawyer’s released the following statement in regard’s to his case:

https://twitter.com/joeyfromROH/status/1067535321729048576

Seth Rollins Responds

WWE Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins, commented on the situation involving the former J&J Security Team member.

“Innocence should never be taken for granted. Joey’s story is just one of many, but hopefully his case can help bring attention to those who’ve been wronged as well.

Unfortunately for Joey and others, the public can often view celebrities as “guilty until proven innocent” when reports of their arrest surface. In the case of Mercury, he was able to prove his innocence but doing so isn’t always that easy, even for the truly innocent.

Kevin Owens Challenges Elton John For WrestleMania

2

Kevin Owens is not happy with Elton John at the moment. The famous singer canceled his scheduled Orlando performance last night just 30 minutes before it was to begin due to an ear infection.

Evidently, the former Universal Champion had planned to spend a “date night” with the Mrs. at the concert.

https://twitter.com/FightOwensFight/status/1067615248943931392

“Hey, , nobody ruins my wife and I’s date night except me! You, me…WresteMania. I’ve fought men in their 70’s before, I can do it again!

https://twitter.com/FightOwensFight/status/1067622141791752192

“The last time I wore red heart-shaped glasses for another man before tonight was on January 12, 1996 at the Montreal Forum. I was 11 years old. It was for Shawn Michaels! I’m never wearing red heart-shaped glasses for another man again!

Kevin Owens’ Musical Taste

This is not the first time Owen’s concert attendance has been promoted on his social media. After leaving social media along with Sami Zayn earlier this year, Owens returned to Twitter only so he could encourage Shania Twain to sing a certain song when he attended her concert.

Owens was able to go on stage with Shania but she did not play the song “When” that he had hoped she would. He hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since an October 8th loss to Bobby Lashley on Monday Night Raw. Owens had surgery on his knees recently and at last update, his timetable for return is the first-quarter of 2019.

Ric Flair Reveals New Details About His Health Scare

0

Ric Flair’s health scare was one of the biggest stories in wrestling last year. On the most recent edition of The Steve Austin Show, Flair revealed in more detail than ever before just how dire his medical situation was.

Ric Flair Health Scare

“I don’t remember anything for two months,” Flair said. “I was in a coma for twelve days, ICU for thirty-one days. I had kidney failure, respiratory and heart failure, I was septic, and I had pneumonia.”

“I lost forty-three pounds. It’s a miracle, Steve,” Flair said.

“Twelve days in a coma, thirty-one days in intensive care, then I had to go over to a rehab facility to learn how to walk, starting from scratch, and I never had any memory of anything,” Flair said.

“Obviously I’ve been told, and it’s been filled in for me, but I don’t remember one person that came to see me. From Michael Hayes, to Ricky Steamboat, to Hulk Hogan, people came from all over to see me. I don’t remember any of it.”

Flair added that even when he returned home from the rehab facility, he was still out of sorts. “They wouldn’t give me my cell phone because every time I said something to someone, it was crazy. Hunter said please don’t let him talk on his cell phone because every time I try to make sense with him, it’s out there.”

Overcoming Depression

Flair says that he had a difficult time coming to grips with what happened to him at first. “I would sit in a chair all day and worry about dying,” Flair said. “After learning how sick I was, I wondered why of all people I was still there and somebody else wasn’t.”

Now that he is more than a year past his ordeal, Flair has a more positive outlook on his crisis.

“I literally look at it as a miracle. The doctor told me it was a miracle. And after I look back, and came to realize what took place, it is a miracle. I’m great now. I feel like a million dollars.”

Ric Flair & Alcohol

Flair says that while alcohol abuse may have been to blame for his health crisis, he has very sparingly had drinks on three social occasions over the last year.

“It’s not the alcohol that’s going to kill me,” Flair said. “The doctors are afraid that if I had one, it’ll lead to another, and that will never happen.”

Later in the show, Flair discusses his 2019 appearance schedule, his appearance at Starrcade this past weekend, and how Charlotte is doing in WWE these days. The first part of the show can be found below. The full episode can be found here.

Becky Lynch Taunts Charlotte Flair’s TLC Title Shot

3

The opening segment of this week’s episode of SmackDown Live saw the return of the Man and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

During the segment, Paige also announced a TLC match between Lynch and Charlotte for the upcoming show of the same name. After the other women of the roster objected to that, they were given an opportunity to earn their spot in this match as well.

The opportunity was a battle royal which took place in the main event of the show and it saw Asuka winning the bout and earning herself a title shot as part of the upcoming bout.

After SmackDown went off air, Becky took on her Twitter account to comment on the events from the show and took a shot at the fact that Asuka earned her way to the bout but Charlotte was rewarded this opportunity for free:

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1067619553579016192

She continued her attack on Flair in the interview of the Women’s Champion the company posted on their YouTube channel after the show went off air.

Lynch said that Charlotte has once again been handed this opportunity because the company doesn’t want her to be the champion and the Man but she will continue to be it and beat her opponents at the upcoming show.

You can check out her interview in the video below:

Braun Strowman Undergoes Elbow Surgery (Photo)

0

After the three on one attack on Raw last week, it was revealed that Braun Strowman will be undergoing a surgery to fix his ‘shattered elbow’.

Now WWE has confirmed that the Monster Among Men underwent a successful surgery this past Tuesday at Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, AL.

Following the procedure, the former Wyatt Family member issued a warning on Twitter to the WWE Universe that ‘their end starts now.’

Though the company did not provide any further update on Strowman’s status so it’s hard to say whether or not he will be cleared for the upcoming TLC PPV next month.

Due to the uncertainty with Braun, there are a number of rumors going around about the possible plans if the Monster Sized athlete is not cleared for the show.

Based on the events of Raw, some people believe that WWE could go with a multi-person match involving Baron Corbin and his other associates vs. a team of babyface wrestlers.

Though all this is just a rumor for now and we’ll have to wait for an official detailed update on Braun Strowman’s injury to know whether or not he will be competing at the upcoming show.

As of this writing, Strowman’s TLC match with Baron Corbin is still on.

5 Takeaways From WWE SmackDown (11/27)

0

The November 27th, 2018 episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s show:

The SmackDown Tag Team Champions Lost Again

The Bar SmackDown 11 27

Sheamus and Cesaro faced The Usos tonight on SmackDown. The Bar controlled the majority of the match but Jey Uso battled back and connected with a couple of Superkicks to Sheamus. The Usos went for dueling Frog Splashes on Sheamus but Cesaro broke it up with a ridiculous uppercut while Sheamus got his knees up.

The Usos then Clotheslined Sheamus to the outside and isolated Cesaro in the ring. Jey Uso quickly connected with a Superkick and Jimmy Uso followed it up with a Frog Splash for the pinfall victory.

This match was very entertaining but I’ve seen it several times now. There are teams like Gallows & Anderson and SAnitY that have barely been used on SmackDown. I’d like to see something else for a change besides the revolving door of The Bar, New Day, and The Usos as champions.

AJ Styles Called Out Daniel Bryan For Skipping SmackDown

AJ Styles Smackdown 11 27

AJ Styles came down to the ring and said that it is the way that he lost the title to Daniel Bryan that bothers him. Styles defended the WWE Championship against Bryan two weeks ago and Daniel hit him with a low blow and then the running knee to win the WWE Championship.

Styles said that he wanted to have his WWE Championship rematch right now but Bryan didn’t show up tonight. AJ took a shot at Lesnar and claimed that Bryan must be watching RAW and taking after how they do things over there.

Styles added that Bryan skipped a few Live Events recently and that is something that he never did during his 371 days WWE Championship reign. AJ told Bryan not to forget the WWE Championship at TLC because it belongs to him. AJ angrily through the microphone out of the ring before posing for the crowd.

I liked the decision to turn Bryan heel a couple of weeks back as he was running in place on SmackDown every week. Bryan’s promo last week didn’t really do anything for me but AJ’s promo tonight was solid. I’m hoping that the intensity of this feud picks up over the next couple of weeks leading into TLC.

Samoa Joe Ruined Jeff Hardy’s Celebration

Samoa Joe SmackDown 11 27

Jeff Hardy came down to the ring to celebrate his 20-year career. The entire locker room gave him a round of applause on the entrance ramp.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/1067599557754871811

Jeff Hardy thanked the crowd for sticking by his side over the years through the ups and downs. Jeff kept his speech short and noted that he was not retiring. Hardy stated that he does not know what the future holds but he cannot wait to find out together with the WWE Universe.

Samoa Joe interrupted and said that he was backstage with champagne but didn’t bring it out here because he didn’t think alcohol being around Hardy was a good idea. Samoa Joe claimed that Jeff probably wasn’t coherent during most of his career and accused him of letting his fans down time and time again.

Hardy told Joe that he cannot rain on his parade tonight and challenged him to a match. Joe made it seem like he was going to accept the challenge but opted to walk backstage with a smile on his face instead.

I’ve always been a fan of Samoa Joe and was excited when he joined the main roster. He has had some great matches and is one of the better promos on the main roster in my opinion. However, I’m having a difficult time taking his character seriously at this point. Joe consistently loses the big match and was embarrassingly eliminated within seconds at WWE Survivor Series. I’m hoping that this feud is used to get Joe back on track, but I’m expecting him to come up short in the end like always.

Orton Got The Better Of Rey Mysterio Again

Mysterio SmackDown 11 27

On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton faced Rey Mysterio in the main event. Orton removed Mysterio’s mask and slammed his head into the ring post while a chair was wrapped around his neck.

Orton came down to the ring with Mysterio’s mask on tonight’s show. Randy said that his goal was to humiliate Rey last week and to take him down off the pedestal that the WWE Universe has put him on. Randy added that Mysterio was just another one of his victims at this point in his career.

Mysterio interrupted and came down the entrance ramp with a neck brace on. Rey and Orton traded shots but Randy got the better of the exchange and sent Mysterio into the barricade. Rey battled back and hit a 619 in the ring.

Rey grabbed a steel chair but Orton caught him on the ropes and hit a DDT. Orton then put a chair against Rey’s neck and slammed him into the steel steps outside the ring as security arrived to end the segment.

Randy Orton excels at being a heel and I’ve enjoyed this storyline so far. It is quite simple, Orton wants to humiliate Rey Mysterio and has been successful so far. Orton will look to do the same at TLC and Rey will seek his revenge. I don’t need anything more than that to get excited for a match between these two Superstars.

Becky Lynch Will Defend Her Title In A Triple Threat TLC Match

TLC Triple Threat Match

SmackDown GM Paige welcomed the crowd to start off this week’s show. Paige then introduced SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch to the ring and the crowd gave her a great response.

Becky Lynch stated that she was done watching from the sidelines and that The Man is putting herself back in the game. Lynch immediately called Charlotte Flair down to the ring as the crowd chanted “Becky!” with a few “woos!” mixed in.

Lynch accused Charlotte of channeling her to take it to the RAW Women’s Champion. Flair said that she wasn’t trying to be Becky, she was just being herself. Flair claimed that she was the only woman on either roster capable of giving Rousey the beating she deserved. Flair added that she was capable because she is genetically superior and has the mindset to get the job done.

Becky called Charlotte a “bootleg Becky” and Charlotte accused Becky of copying Ric Flair. Charlotte called out Rousey and said that she will be at TLC. Flair challenged Becky to a fight and Paige got in between them. Paige announced that Flair will get a shot at Lynch’s title in a TLC match at the PPV next month.

The IIconics, Sonya Deville, Zelina Vega, and Mandy Rose interrupted. Mandy accused Paige of only giving opportunities to her old PCB teammates. Naomi, Lana, Carmella, and Asuka joined the party and they agreed with Mandy Rose that anyone of them can be champion. Paige changed her mind and announced a Battle Royal between the SmackDown Women’s division. The winner of the Battle Royal will be added the title match at WWE TLC 2018.

The Battle Royal was the main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown. Sonya Deville and Asuka were the final two Superstars in the match. Deville got Asuka to the ring apron and Mandy Rose tried to drag Asuka out. Asuka booted Rose away from her and brought Sonya over the top rope and to the apron. Asuka then connected with a knee to the face to eliminate her and earn her way into the title match. Becky Lynch will now defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in the first-ever women’s TLC match at the PPV next month.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/1067614292663549952

The story pretty much tells itself if WWE chooses to go this direction. Lynch can now drop the title without being pinned at TLC and have to go on the chase once again. It would be great if Becky held the title until WrestleMania, but I think the better story would have Becky once again be screwed over at WWE TLC.

That would then present the opportunity for Becky Lynch to win the women’s Royal Rumble and have an incredible WrestleMania moment next April. The winner of the Royal Rumble can select which champion they want to face, so Lynch could face Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Charlotte and Rousey also have some unfinished business so I am intrigued at where this all is heading. As for Asuka, it is great to see her get another shot at the title. She has been one of the most underutilized talents on the main roster and I’m glad she is back in a marquee match.

Becky Lynch Talks Desire To Main Event With Sasha Banks, Ideal Tag Team Partner

1

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently did an interview with Sky Sports where she talked about various topics including her ideal tag team partner.  For months now, there have been rumors that WWE could be introducing Women’s Tag Team Titles in the near future. This when she named Asuka.

“I think Asuka is a killer, right? So I’d like to partner up with a killer,” Becky stated. “I’d absolutely like to face her in the ring as well. She’s a killer, I’ll kill her.”

Lynch also talked about who she would like to face in the main event of any show. This is when she named former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks.

“Sasha Banks is one of my favorite people to be in the ring with,” Becky continued. “She’s fantastic, a wonderful athlete. It would be a great match. One of my favorite matches, and my coming out match, was myself against her at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable. She won that match, and times have changed, so I would like to prove to her who the man is.”

As of this writing, Lynch is still currently healing up from a broken face and a concussion suffered by Nia Jax a few weeks ago on RAW. WWE has yet to confirm when she’ll be cleared to make her return to in-ring action.

Seth Rollins Shoots Down Rumor That The Curb Stomp Is Banned In WWE Again

0

It appears that a rumor started to make the rounds today indicating that Seth Rollins’ Curb Stomp finisher was once again banned by WWE. The move had previously been banned before but was reinstated in 2017. A writer at WrestlingNewsSource took to Twitter and reported that someone confirmed to him the move had, in fact, been banned by WWE once again.

However, Rollins responded to the Tweet and flat out denied it:

Speculation about the move’s status begun after Rollins failed to nail Dolph Ziggler with it a few times on Monday Night RAW last night. However, Rollins eventually hit Ziggler with the Falcon Arrow for the win. Per Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, the reason Rollins won with the Falcon Arrow and not the Curb Stomp is because WWE really wants to get the move over.

Alvarez noted Rollins does the move in nearly every match and people go crazy for it, but it never wins him bouts. Now, the fact that the move can actually finish matches will make it a hotter near-fall. So, it looks like – for now – the Curb Stomp is safe and will continue to be used by “The Architect.”

How do you feel about WWE attempting to get the Falcon Arrow over?

Several Backstage Notes From Last Night’s RAW

3

Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW went down from The Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconson. The show continued the build to next month’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV). PWInsider has provided several interesting backstage notes regarding the show. First, it turns out Vince McMahon was backstage at the show and oversaw all creative aspects of the program.

It was also noted that Dean Ambrose’s promo was pre-taped, and he was not in Milwaukee with the rest of the roster last night. As for Braun Strowman’s promo, that angle was also pre-taped last week for this week’s show. However, Strowman is legitimately in Birmingham, Alabama for surgery. If he hasn’t already, he’s set to go under the knife to repair some bone spurs in his elbow.

It was also mentioned that several WWE personnel were happy with The Fiserv Forum and how easy it was to load into the stadium and utilize the facility. The report also revealed that the woman who asked Bayley and Sasha Banks how they would change the women’s division was planted in the crowd before the segment.

Finally, as we’ve noted, Ring Of Honor star Silas Young was in attendance for RAW. His deal with ROH is set to expire soon, and he’s rumored to be WWE bound.

What did you think about last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW?

Samoa Joe On If He’ll Use The Muscle Buster In WWE Again

2

Prior to his time in WWE, Samoa Joe had two famous finishing moves in his arsenal. Those being the Coquina Clutch, and the Muscle Buster. When Joe was signed to WWE and competed in NXT, he oftentimes used the Muscle Buster, however, that all changed after he ended Tyson Kidd’s career with the move. The incident occurred during an NXT live event in June of 2015.

Now, the Muscle Buster is a rarity on WWE TV given the extent of how badly it injured Kidd. Joe has instead used the Coquina Clutch as his primary finisher. Recently, Joe spoke to City Pages and was asked about the Muscle Buster and if WWE fans can ever expect to see it again. Joe said that the move is something he chooses to pull out of his arsenal when he chooses to do so.

He seems to be suggesting it’s more of a rare special move than one he’d prefer to use regularly:

“The Muscle Buster is something I use at my pleasure when I choose to,” said Joe. “Trust me, when the opportunity arises and the conditions are right, you never know what I’ll pull out. Maybe I’m not ready to pull it out of my arsenal yet.”

What do you think about Joe’s comments regarding the muscle buster?

PCO Bites Head Off Fish In Latest Video

3

Pierre Carl-Oulette has revitalized his career in 2018. Now known as PCO, he is one of the biggest names on the independent circuit. Much of his new found fandom has come through is bizarre and often disturbing YouTube videos.

In his latest video, PCO bites the head of a dead fish. He is accompanied in the video as always by Destro.

PCO in 2018

The 50-year-old native of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. He made his professional debut 31 years ago in 1987. By 1993, Oulette was in WWE as one-half of the Quebecers. By 1995, Oulette was repackaged as Jean-Pierre LaFitte, a decedent of real-life pirates. He would head to WCW in 1996 where he would team with Jaques Rougeou as one-half of the Quebecers.

He returned to WWE and WCW in minor roles in the early 21st century but largely kept to the independent scene after the 90s came to a close.

Largely due to his YouTube videos and a stellar performance for Game Changer Wrestling, PCO ascended to the top of the indies this year. This summer, he then signed a deal with Major League Wrestling.

“It’s been my greatest run ever in the pro wrestling business,” PCO described 2018 to the Pro Wrestling Torch this summer. “This is the best. This year has been really, really intense. It’s organic. It’s been a crazy run, and it’s also the run where I’m having the most fun and I enjoy the most.”

World Tag League Will See Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi Team Up For The First Time Ever

0

It’s a rivalry that seemed destined to last forever as each man strove to prove they were the dominant competitor in New Japan Pro Wrestling. But now, six years into their historic feud now turned friendly competition, Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi about to team up together for the first time ever.

With both having a common enemy in new Bullet Club member, Jay White, it has led the men to a tense truce and unlikely alliance.

As part of New Japan’s current World Tag League tournament, we will get the opportunity to witness ‘The Ace’ and ‘The Rainmaker’ join forces on both the 29th and 30th of November.

The first match will see Okada, Tanahashi, and KUSHIDA face off against Jay White, Bad Luck Fale and Taiji Ishimori — a clash that also further developments the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight feud between the champion, KUSHIDA, and Ishimori.

The next day, the team will see Rocky Romero bolster their ranks in an eight-man tag team match as they compete against White, Fale, Ishimori, and the man who betrayed Okada, Gedo.

It was Gedo’s betrayal and Jay White’s unrelenting attack post-match at NJPW’s Destruction in Kobe event that would lead to this unlucky team coming together.

At a later New Japan show, ‘Road To Power Struggle’ on October 27th, Tanahashi would run in to save Okada from an assault at the hands of the Firing Squad, bringing the two men together in the face of a unified enemy.

Okada will eventually face Jay White at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 event. Tanahashi, meanwhile, will be cashing in his G1 Climax briefcase for a shot against IWGP Heavyweight champion, Kenny Omega.
