Backstage Update On Real Reasons Blue Pants Has Heat In NXT

22

Leva “Blue Pants” Bates was said to likely be done with NXT after backstage heat caught up to her. It was originally alleged that she made comments and acted as if she were above the other talents. It was also speculated that WWE officials continued to use her due to the fact that they knew she would get a big pop as the mystery partner for The Vaudevillians at “Takeover: Brooklyn,” however her run was supposed to end once she was beaten by Alexa Bliss.

An NXT source shared yesterday that Blue Pants didn’t catch heat for the reasons originally noted, but because it was felt within the company that she didn’t appreciate the spot she had. Bates apparently rarely paid attention to what was going on during NXT TV tapings, as she was constantly seen paying more attention to her phone than anything else.

Another noted incident involving Blue Pants is when she became intoxicated in public during SummerSlam weekend in Brooklyn, New York. She was said to be acting highly innappropriate at an outing where she reportedly drank too much after the SummerSlam pay-per-view. Her behavior did not sit well with WWE corporate employees from Stamford that were in attendance for the gathering, and the incident led to her missing her flight back to Florida with the rest of the crew the following morning.

Update On Adam Rose’s Condition After Being Stretchered Out In Mexico

7

It appears that Adam Rose is fine after being stretchered out of the ring following his match with Fandango on Friday evening.

As noted, Rose took a kick from Fandango at the show, which was the first stop on WWE’s ongoing tour of Mexico, and he immediately went down. Trainers immediately hit the ring to check on him before he was ultimately taken to the back on a stretcher.

According to F4WOnline.com, Rose was dealing with a solid case of “getting his bell rung” as opposed to suffering a serious injury. Rose would go on to take to social media to update his fans on his condition, noting that he is “fine” and appreciates that “support and concern.”

WWE Signs Another Tough Enough Contestant, Lita Helps Get Him Signed

17

The popular Chad Dukes Radio Show out of Washington, D.C. is reporting that fan favorite WWE Tough Enough contestant Patrick Clark has signed a developmental deal with WWE and is currently training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Clark was originally scheduled to make two appearances for Maryland Championship Wrestling this weekend, however he did not show up to either of them.

According to PWInsider.com, Clark, age 19, will soon be officially signed to WWE, as he is currently waiting to complete the standard medical tests required to sign with the company as an active performer.

Clark took part in a tryout at the WWE Performance Center a few weeks back and according to one source, Lita (Amy Dumas), who is now working behind-the-scenes in WWE, played a big role in Clark getting his deal.

Jim Cornette Rips Apart Vince McMahon In New Podcast

18

Jim Cornette ripped apart Vince McMahon on episode 96 of The Jim Cornette Experience. He went into detail about his thoughts on why Vince McMahon makes amends with so many former talents who parted ways with him on bad terms.

“People sue him, people walk out on him, people f**k him, people say horrible things about him, and he brings them back, not because it’s best for business, but because it’s best for his f**king ego,” said Cornette. “Vince McMahon has the worst inferiority complex of anybody in history. I say that because he wants to prove that he will do anything with anybody. He will reconcile with anybody, supposedly if it’s best for business, but really so he can get them under his thumb again and he can work with them again. He can prove that they needed him.”

Jim Ross: “Storm & Roode Can Help Build A Better WWE,” Working On Autobiography

2

WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross thinks former TNA star James Storm should jump on the opportunity to join WWE. He’s also working on his long-awaited autobiography. Here are some highlights from an entry in his blog where he discusses these subjects:

On WWE potentially signing James Storm and Bobby Roode:

I’d encourage James Storm to join WWE if the opportunity is there and not ever have to look back some day and say “What if?’ It’s smart of wWE to retain the services of a guy like storm and even a Bobby Roode to see if they can find their way onto the main roster and to help the younger talents to improve their in ring game. ‘Green’ can’t improve with working primarily with other ‘green’ talent. Guys like Storm and Roode, among others, can help build a better overall WWE brand by being there to work with the rookies. This process will take away some of the sting of not having wrestling Territories.

On his autobiography:

Working on our autobiography this week and we are in the territory stage of my career. Many good memories and quite the learning experience for me. The territory experience that I had established my foundation for which I built a 40 year career upon. The erosion of the wrestling territories has been a huge issue as it relates to the growth of pro wrestling and the startling lack of main event, ‘over’ talents in the business today. The Territories won’t return as in having a weekly schedule of towns, producing a local only, quality TV show. WWE is smart to be aligning itself with various indy groups to help them continue to find skilled talent to bring into NXT.

Jim Ross Q&A: Does Vince Think Cesaro Is Boring?, Creative In WWE Contracts

45

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official Q&A section, answering questions from fans on a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights.

On if older shooters would have gone to MMA if it were around back in the day: “They all were qualified to be MMA stars without question but they would have followed the money and the longevity of their athletic careers I’m thinking. What I mean is a UFC-like operation would have gotten some of the men you mentioned in all reality but over the long haul a career in pro wrestling is generally longer and can be more lucrative.”

On if Vince McMahon thinks Cesaro is boring: “I have no idea if that rumor is even true but I love Cesaro’s game and feel that he’s underutilized.”

On creative in WWE contracts: “I would never tie in creative with a talent’s contract. To me, that is insanity. Creative needs change, talents evolve or not, and to be locked in to a talent having the ability to not run the plays that the team dictates is not smart business.

Santino Speaks On WWE Main-Eventers Not Sharing The Locker Room, Cena As Leader, & More

4

Former WWE United States champ Santino Marella was recently interviewed by the Two Man Power Trip podcast about his WWE experience. You can listen to the full podcast here. Here are some highlights:

Is John Cena the leader of the locker room?: “Well, he definitely was the locker room leader. But what happens is when guys like get their own bus they are not in the locker room anymore. He has his own bus, Randy has a bus, Big Show has got their buses and you literally don’t see them in the locker room because they have a different bus. But on European tours he’s still in the locker room, but that being said he was definitely the locker room leader or at least I saw him like that and the reason I saw him there was because of his work ethic and he is just a good guy, really good principles and morals and values. Just a standup guy and he works so damn hard. You could not be but awe inspired that this guy can just go and go and go and not complain or whine and he leads by example and that is what a real locker room leader is supposed to be.”

Do Superstars that have the private buses feel above being in the locker room?: “No, if anyone could afford it they would have one too. It’s an investment in your career. You are pro-longing your career because they have high quality mattresses and they sleep on the same one every night. They’ve got their fridge and their kitchen so they can make their smoothies and they can take care of their nutrition better than us because we actually have to search around for an IHOP and get some egg whites. If John Cena or Randy Orton are putting asses in seats in which I am benefiting from because I am on the same show well then I want my stars and my headliners and main events to be healthy because the more they put asses in seats, the more I get paid. That’s the opinion of the wrestlers in the locker room if you take care of the guy in the main event then he has some leeway because he’s feeding your family.”

Was playing “Santina” competing in a “Divas” match detrimental to his character: “I’m always up for a challenge and when you get a role like that some people would be concerned like “oh GOD” this is the end of his career because once you dress like a woman that’s it. I thought I was going to do a good job and knock this out of the park, do a good job and kind of reverse the joke. Well like if the joke was supposed to be on me well I did a good job it’s like I got praised for it. I know the girls were pissed. But I was given the job by the boss and you just do the best you can”.

Update On Colin Cassady Injury Angle At NXT TV Tapings

4

Currently out of action, WWE NXT Superstar Colin Cassady has what appears to be a broken leg. Cassady worked Friday’s meet and greet in Tampa, FL which also featured Enzo Amore and WWE Tough Enough winner Sara Lee. It’s worth mentioning that Cassady was walking on crutches and did not wrestle.

At last week’s NXT TV taping, the storyline appeared to be an injury angle with Cass and The Mechanics for the 10/28 episode. Cassady’s knee brace was removed and they were working his leg over, leading correspondents in attendance to believe it was just an angle for the show.

WWE No Longer Advertising “Stone Cold” Steve Austin For Live Raw Appearance This Monday

4

WWE.com has released its Five-Point Preview for next Monday’s Raw and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is not among the legends advertised for the show. He will, however, sit down with Brock Lesnar for a special Stone Cold Podcast immediately following Raw (on the WWE Network).

The updated Raw preview reads:

Brock Lesnar’s Go to Hell Tour rolls through Dallas en route to Hell in a Cell this Monday night, and The Beast Incarnate isn’t coming alone. Also set to appear live on Raw in WrestleMania 32’s host city are WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels, as well as The Beast Incarnate’s Hell in a Cell opponent and bitter nemesis, The Undertaker.

After Raw, Lesnar will sit down with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for a special Stone Cold Podcast, only on WWE Network. The Texas Rattlesnake undoubtedly has some hard-hitting questions planned for The Anomaly in what’s sure to be Austin’s most intense interview yet.

Join WWE.com as we preview the star-studded final Raw before Hell in a Cell.

As recently as Wednesday, WWE.com was advertising Austin as appearing live this Monday in Dallas, Texas.

As Brock Lesnar’s Go to Hell Tour winds its way toward Los Angeles, The Beast Incarnate’s infernal caravan will make a stopover on WWE’s flagship show, where a few Legends and Hall of Famers will join the ride.

Next week’s Raw, scheduled to emanate live from Dallas — the home city of WrestleMania 32 — will feature a live appearance by Lesnar, WWE Hall of Famers Shawn Michaels, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Ric Flair, as well as Lesnar’s Hell in a Cell opponent, The Undertaker.

The page has since been deleted. However, he is still advertised as appearing on the event page, which has not been updated.

Austin said on Twitter that he was never scheduled for Raw — WWE did not advertise him for the star-studded show during the Oct. 12 broadcast.

After WWE.com advertised him for the event on Wednesday, Austin said he had no idea’s what going on.

Tom Phillips On His Job With WWE, Working With The Rock & More

2

WWE announcer Tom Phillips recently spoke with Penn State News about his career. Below are some of the highlights.

On working WWE commentary: “It may sound cliché, but I watch the WWE Network constantly. It could be matches from 1991, 1970 or as recently as 2010. I just like to listen to the ways commentary has changed through the years. On commentary, we try to really bring what’s happening to life. So you have to know the product, the superstars and history. It’s not always easy. At first it was like trying to learn Chinese and having no knowledge of how to speak Chinese. The difficult thing was finding my own voice, and it feels like I’m competing with myself every week to get better.”

On his goal coming out of Penn State in 2011: “I told myself I want to be the greatest broadcasting alumnus Penn State has ever had. That’s a really tall task, but I pursue that every single day. It’s beyond important for me to represent my school and my family.”

On working with The Rock in Philadelphia earlier this year, one of his career highlights: “In classic Rock fashion, he tore me to pieces. In my head I’m thinking about all those times he’d done that to someone else. I’m just trying to stay focused.”

On his job with WWE: “My job is to bring viewers information. My job is to make sure the show goes smoothly, point out what happened last week, mention what’s coming next. That’s my job. My job is just to be the professional.”

Hogan’s Beach Being Re-Branded & Re-Named

12

TampaBay.com is reporting that Hulk Hogan’s “Hogan’s Beach” establishment in Tampa, Florida will be re-branded and re-named, ending their affiliation with Hogan. They claimed that the restaurant is still open and serving customers under the Hogan name, however there is no solid timetable for the changes to happen.

Owner Ben Mallah, a real estate investor, said Hogan’s Beach and the Best Western-Bay Harbor-Tampa hotel it’s next to are being sold, however the sale is not officially done just yet. Even without the sale, Hogan’s Beach is going to be re-branded.

Mallah said the changes have nothing to do with the recent Hogan controversy. He also noted that Hogan licenses his name to the restaurant but has no ownership interest.

“We’ve had a two-and-a-half-year run with that brand,” said Mallah. “It’s time for a new brand. Everything changes.”

Road Warrior Animal Denied WWE Coaching Job

39

When trying to get work within the WWE, being one-half of one of the most identifiable and over acts in professional wrestling history still doesn’t seem to do someone like Road Warrior Animal any favors. Animal spoke to the hosts on the latest edition of the “Jobbing Out” podcast about trying to gain employment with the WWE as a WWE Performance Center coach.

“I’ve approached them,” Animal explained during the podcast, “Dusty (Rhodes) approached them on my behalf. For whatever reason, the office has their favorite guys. I understand that. One of the first deals I made when I signed with Vince McMahon was that when I was done that I wanted to coach. It’s water under the bridge, it ain’t going to happen. It’s never going to happen.”

Needing tag team wrestling coaches in particular, Animal singled out the WWE Performance Center first. According to Animal, there is a lot of favoritism in job placement and he believes that coaching the tag division is imperative.

“You have to have guys coaching who know tag team wrestling,” Animal explained. “You have to have the experience. The business has to get away from ‘this guy is my buddy, so he gets a job.'”

Road Warrior Animal will be at the Maryland Championship Wrestling this upcoming weekend.

You can listen to Road Warrior Animal’s appearance on the “Jobbing Out” podcast by clicking here.
