Blue Pants On Which Top WWE Diva She Wants To Face, Her NXT Status & More

5

Part-time NXT performer Blue Pants recently appeared as a guest on The Roman Show to talk about a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On her WWE status: “I am something they never really have happened before, I’m a free agent. I come and go. You really never know when I’m going to pop up that’s the kind of appeal of Blue Pants. She’s the wacky next door neighbor. You really never know when she’s going to show up.”

On how the character came about: “It was kind of an accident, to be honest. They called me in. I was just going to be a girl to wrestle Carmella for her debut. I was standing there wearing the blue pants, while they were going over the promo and they decided, creative decided, well instead of having a normal debut, where she comes out I’m already out. Cass had a match and it didn’t really happen because their opponents turned on each other, so they didn’t even wrestle. They had all this time, and asked us if we wanted to wrestle. I asked Carmella if she wanted to wrestle and that’s how it literally happened.”

On who she wants to face: “I wrestled her in tag matches, I haven’t really wrestled her in singles matches, I would love to wrestle Paige one on one. I think that would be a really cool match. It’s been so long since we wrestled each other. Every time we wrestled, it was more like Re-Generation X vs the Knight Dynasty, so we never really had a one-on-one, so I think that would be really cool, plus we both have black and blue hair, so it’ll be kind of a cool pairing up.”

Jesse Ventura Talks More About Possibly Running For President Of The United States

12

WWE Hall Of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura recently spoke with the Minnesota Star Tribune about the possibility of once again becoming active in the political world.

Although Ventura has spoken about joining Donald Trump’s ticket in recent weeks, there has been no formal invitation from Trump’s presidential campaign.

Ventura noted that he has been invited to the Libertarian Party Convention in 2016 and is considering running for president of the United States of America on that ticket, but that he would not join that political party.

“I would challenge the American people to make history with me and elect the first president since George Washington, the father of our country, who does not belong to a political party,” Ventura said.

Ventura also noted that he has not ruled out the possibility of seeking a second term as Governor of Minnesota. Ventura commented, “People come up to me every day and tell me to run for governor.”

HEBNER BECOMES FIRST REFEREE INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME OF ANY MAJOR PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING PROMOTION

HEBNER’S HALL OF FAME INDUCTION TO TAKE PLACE SATURDAY, OCT. 3, DURING THE ROAD TO BOUND FOR GLORY TOUR LIVE EVENT IN SALEM, VA., HEBNER’S HOME STATE

TNA SENIOR PRODUCER AND SMASHING PUMPKINS FRONT MAN BILLY CORGAN TO INDUCT HEBNER

NASHVILLE, TN (Sept. 14, 2015) – For 27 years professional wrestling referee Earl Hebner has entered millions of living rooms across the globe every week, officiating the wildest and most memorable matches and main events of wrestling’s top promotions. On Saturday, Oct. 3, in front of family, friends and fans in his home state of Virginia, Hebner, the most famous professional referee in the world, will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame.

“Earl Hebner is not only one of the most recognizable personalities in professional wrestling, his passion for the sport, in-ring management skills, and ability to entertain audiences has set the standard by which all professional wrestling referees are measured,” said TNA President Dixie Carter. “ It is an honor to have Earl as part of the TNA family and as the newest member of the illustrious TNA Hall of Fame.”

Hebner’s TNA Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place Saturday, Oct. 3 during The Road to Bound For Glory Tour live event in Salem, Va. Smashing Pumpkins front man and TNA Senior Producer, Billy Corgan, will induct Hebner, with TNA Ring Announcer and Hebner’s dear friend, Jeremy Borash, emceeing.

On Sunday, Oct. 4, during TNA’s biggest night of the year, the Bound For Glory Pay-Per-View event, a special segment will be dedicated to Earl’s TNA Hall of Fame induction and will feature career highlights and portions of his induction ceremony from the previous night.

Hebner will be the sixth inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame, joining Sting, Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Devon and Jeff Jarrett. His TNA Hall of Fame induction marks the first time a referee of any major professional wrestling organization has become a member of the promotion’s Hall of Fame.

“When I received the call from John Gaburick (TNA’s Executive Vice President of Television and Talent Relations) and he told me I am being inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, I was stunned and my eyes welled up with tears,” said Hebner. “I’ve been working for 37 years for this incredible honor. It is rare for a referee in any sport to be recognized in this way, and I am proud TNA is recognizing me as the first referee to ever be inducted into a professional wrestling Hall of Fame.”

Hebner fell in love with professional wrestling during his teenage years while working concessions at the Richmond, Va., fairgrounds, where local and regional promotions would run shows every Friday night. He first became involved in professional wrestling by volunteering on the ring crew. Hebner’s foray into refereeing came about by happenstance when a referee fell ill and Earl was asked to fill in on a moment’s notice. Hebner went on to referee for Jim Crockett Promotions, and in the late 80s he made his debut with World Wrestling Federation, when he replaced his twin brother, Dave, mid-match and influenced the outcome of a title bout. Hebner made his TNA debut in 2006 where he has served as Senior Official, managing TNA’s other referees, including son Brian.

Speculation On Potential Roman Reigns Heel Turn In The Works

67

There has been some speculation that the current angle between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose could potentially lead to a Reigns heel turn.

Since being promoted to the main roster, Reigns has been viewed as an obvious main event project, one that WWE has been carefully booking in specific ways pretty much since day one.

Lately, there has been speculation that Ambrose bringing Jimmy Uso into the fold for their battle against The Wyatt Family could lead to the Reigns heel turn, as Reigns would get upset that Ambrose brought his family, Uso, into a situation where he would get destroyed.

Whether or not this is the direction WWE is going remains to be seen, however there are many reasons why turning Reigns heel right now would make sense from a booking standpoint.

Jim Ross Blog: Hardy Boys To WWE?, Undertaker’s Retirement, Paul Heyman

1

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official blog with his thoughts and comments on a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights.

On The Hardy Boys to WWE rumors: “Interesting speculation online that the Hardy Boys might be back on the WWE radar. I have no idea if this is true or not but I don’t think it is a bad idea if they were utilized much like the Dudley’s have been lately. Jeff and Matt had a spectacular tag team run in WWE while Jeff was close to becoming a big time, singles star, as well. Jeff’s ladder match with Undertaker is still one of my most vivid broadcasting memories. The Hardy’s and the Dudley’s in a TLC match at Wrestlemania Texas would certainly be attractive to Attitude Era fans who are looking for a reason to reconnect with the brand and sample the WWE Network.”

On The Undertaker’s retirement: “Getting lots of questions as to why I don’t think that the Undertaker is ready to hang up his boots. It’s more of a gut feeling than any thing else plus some feedback from those closer to the matter than am I. If Taker is healthy, and he appears to be, and not in need of any more surgeries at this time then he seems like he could pull of a Lesnar-like schedule and make special appearances but at the same time keep his persona fresh, his body healthy and remain in the ‘special attraction’ realm. Like an other husband and father, one has to earn a living to fulfill one’s obligations and to provide for family so why not do what one’s done so well if it can be done? This is mere speculation but it’s my take on the matter and time will tell what the verdict will be. Undertaker on major cards in specific markets is good for WWE business and what’s good for WWE business is good for all talents.”

On Paul Heyman’s birthday: “I forgot to mention Happy 50th Birthday to Paul Heyman on September 11 as I was in Knoxville working but here’s a belated best wishes to one of my favorite, all tme partners in broadcasting who I’m happy that I had the ability to give his first national, TV break in WCW in Atlanta back in the day. Many fans still feel that our broadcast of Wrestlemania 17 and on the Smackdown after the 911 tragedy was our finest work.”

Booker T Reveals Changes He Would Like To See On WWE Tough Enough

9

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T recently appeared as a guest on the Wrestling Compadre Slamcast. During the interview, Booker spoke about his thoughts on the latest season of WWE Tough Enough, which he was part of.

While Booker T said he hopes the show comes back for another season, he did mention that he hopes the voting process is changed so that the fans can vote on the bottom three contestants instead of voting the contestant that gets kicked off of the show every week.

“Let the host or whoever the judges [are] actually vote the guy off because we are actually looking for the next Tough Enough winner, not the next reality [show] superstar,” said Booker.

“I hope Giorgia gets a chance to make it back [to WWE]. She should have been the one. She was the overall winner as far as the girls go as far as I’m concerned,” Booker T said. “Patrick is the guy I hope I see come back. He’s an independent wrestler. He’s still out there doing his thing out there on the independent circuit trying to make his way to the big time, so hopefully the hard work for him will actually pay off.”

Video: Paige Describes Recent Restaurant Incident With Alicia Fox And Two Drunk Women

2

As we reported last week, WWE Divas and Total Divas stars Paige and Alicia Fox were thrown out of a restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, September 6th following an incident with an alleged intoxicated customer, which ended with drinks being thrown by both parties.

During her appearance at Comic Con in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this weekend, Paige addressed the incident.

According to Paige, Total Divas cameras were not present to film the footage during the incident. She also spoke about how she and Fox were singing karaoke when the woman began filming them. The Divas reportedly asked the woman to stop, which is when she apparently got mad and threw her drink at them.

It was at this point that Paige and Fox got physical as well, as they reportedly threw their drinks back at the woman, which led to the woman’s friend joining in the mix.

All four ladies ended up being thrown out of the establishment and the two unknown women reportedly wanted to continue fighting, however the situation ended up being resolved without further incident.

According to Paige, the entire story was blown out of proportion.

Rey Mysterio Clears Up Confusion Regarding His WWE Departure

3

Mysterio also tweeted this one:

“WWE had a good understanding on my departure. I hope this would answer some of the [questions] on why I ain’t wrestling with WWE anymore.”

Mo From Men On A Mission Talks Backstage Incident With HBK, McMahon/Frazier Jr. Lawsuit

4

Former WWE performer “Sir Mo” of the Men On A Mission tag-team recently appeared as a guest on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On former wrestlers and the wife of the late Nelson Frazier Jr. (Viscera, Big Daddy V, Mabel) holding Vince McMahon liable for medical issues and forcing performers to work hurt: “I’ve really thought about that myself, even with some medical issues that I’ve had myself and basically I worked there for three years and I’ve never seen Vince McMahon force anybody to do anything they didn’t want to do. I’ve never seen Vince McMahon ask anyone to work hurt, though I’ve done it before myself. As far as taking care of talent after they leave the company, I think it’s a great and noble thing, the whole drug rehab thing. The medical stuff, I don’t think he should be held responsible for that simply because and here’s the deal, Nelson and I wrestled in this business for more than three years before the WWE, then there is all the years after it so if we wrestled three years together in WWE and the whole three years that we wrestled there we worked every day, every month and we didn’t sustain any major injuries the whole three years we were there.”

On holding the business responsible rather than one single promoter: “There’s a million and one of us guys that worked for Vince and worked for Turner and worked for Crocket and worked for Bill Watts and worked for Joe sh*t- the-rag-bag Promoter or Jeff to-the Left and Eddie damn- Spaghetti and in some way taken a chance and got hurt or whatever. Ten years removed from working for Vince McMahon we are sick, we are broke down, we may even die but should Vince McMahon be held liable for that? Or should we have a list of every single promoter that each one of us worked for and include every single one of those into that lawsuit?”

On a backstage incident with Shawn Michaels: “We were overseas in Israel, it was during Passover and one night we were at an event and Nelson fainted in the hallway. So since we were overseas they wouldn’t take him to a hospital so they just took Nelson back to the hotel and we were working a program at the time against The Headshrinkers. The agent comes to me and the agent said Mo you are going to work a singles match against Samu from the Headshrinkers and Fatu is not going to work at all. Fatu didn’t like that idea, he was pissed off, he was ranting and raving about it and I’m standing there going over the match with Samu and Shawn Michaels comes out of the shower and he hit me in the back harder then I’ve ever been hit on the football field, he just knocked the hell out of me. The operative word from me was excuse me, and his response was f— excuse me, you guys have no work ethic. He said you young guys come up here with no f—ing work ethic and your f—ing partner fell down in the hall way, all he had to do was get his fat ass up and walk to the ring and you do all the work and there would be a tag match tonight instead of the bullshit singles match. He thought Nelson should have sucked it up, went to the ring and stood on the side and work because the kind of tag match we worked, I take the heat anyway. So that’s what he was pissed off about and he took it out on me. My response was being the man that I am is if you put your hands on me again, I’m gonna beat your f—ing-ass. Did I pay for it? Yeah, dearly. What did it get me? It got me pulled off TV for nine months and I had to travel on the road for nine months and not work. In that nine months I got highly depressed and I attempted suicide.”

On WWE not recognizing Men On A Mission’s Tag Team Championship win: “There were a couple of matches on TV where for example me against Owen Hart that it was mentioned about the tag team championship on TV. I think Ted Dibiase and Stan Lane were doing the commentary and Stan Lane always pushed that and always put that over. It was mentioned a couple of times on TV but it just kind of faded away.”

On the back-story as to why the title win is not addressed: “During the “New Generation” era at the same time Vince McMahon was having the steroid trial. So of course, we were getting drug tested two or three times a week and back then in that era if you failed a drug test and if it was like a steroid or cocaine thing or a narcotic failure of a drug test you immediately got suspended. But, if you failed a drug test, first offense and you had marijuana in your system (THC) you would get fined. Up to a certain point maybe your fifth or sixth violation you were suspended. A member of our team, which will remain nameless loved smoking the wacky-weed, loved it and because they loved it JJ Dillon came to me one day and said “Let’s just say, we put the tag team gold on a particular tag team and we put the titles on you Sunday and then you go to a house show on Monday and fail a drug test and one member of the tag team has to be suspended, why are we going to take a chance or risk of putting the tag team titles on somebody if there is a possibility of one member of the team getting suspended” and that was the hold back right there.”

On taking the hit when your team is under fire: “At some point you’ve got to take responsibility for yourself and you’ve got to tell the truth and the truth is whether it’s Men On A Mission or the Hardy Boyz or the Dudley Boyz or Edge and Christian as a tag team if there is one member that screws up it’s going to effect the whole tag team. That’s why it was on one day and off a couple of days later. It was given because it was deserved but it was taken away at the same time because there was an issue that needed to be resolved. But by the time the issue got resolved all this other stuff had happened with Shawn Michaels. In 94 is when we got the tag belts. It was another tour overseas in 94 when the issue with Shawn Michaels happened and so I’m out for nine months.”

On what kept M.O.M from leaving to go to WCW: “When those nine months are up in 1995 we are at the Royal Rumble and Nelson and I had decided because it was driving me crazy we decide we’re going to leave in January of ’95. I had been on the shelf for nine months and it wasn’t going the way we wanted. The deal to keep us there and not leave was The King of The Ring.”

Backstage Talk On Jeff Hardy Possibly Returning To WWE

42

It looks like the name “Jeff Hardy” has been mentioned quite a bit behind-the-scenes in WWE in recent weeks/months.

As noted recently, WWE recently polled fans on some potential Superstar returns they would like to see and Jeff Hardy, along with The Dudley Boyz, was included on the poll.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that The Hardys were also mentioned on RAW during the segment with Edge, Christian and The Dudley Boyz. While it could be said that it would be awkward for those two teams to talk about their history together and not include The Hardys, however that hasn’t stopped WWE in the past.

It was also noted in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that public Hardy mentions were not encouraged by WWE in the past.

While Jeff Hardy is currently signed to TNA Wrestling, there has been speculation that Hardy returning to WWE could happen as TNA is in need of greatly reducing their costs due to their ongoing television situation. The two highest paid wrestlers in TNA are Hardy and Kurt Angle, and Angle recently announced that he won’t be re-signing with TNA at the end of the year.

Update On Plans For John Cena & The WWE Title

31

While there was talk recently that John Cena may soon have another run with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, it looks like that won’t be happening until 2016 at the earliest.

Prior to the announcement that Sting would be challenging Seth Rollins for the title at WWE Night Of Champions this month, there was some speculation that Cena could be challenging Rollins for both titles.

According to F4WOnline.com, at the time it was reportedly WWE’s goal to keep Cena from the title and have the belt go to Roman Reigns and other Superstars before Cena’s shot comes back around.

Mick Foley Writes About Recent Incident With Drunken Fan

7

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley recently updated his official Facebook page, blogging about an incident he had with a fan during a recent Q&A session.

“The Hardcore Legend” wrote the following:

NAME YOUR TOP 5 ANNOUNCERS OF ALL-TIME

Last night, the Q&A session at the “#FiftyYearsOfFoley” show threatened to get ugly, when a lad, with the help of a few too many pints took great exception to my oft-stated stance that #WWEHOF announcer Jim Ross is the best wrestling announcer of all time. The lad was a little tough to understand…sometimes a few extra pints will do that to a guy. But in the end with great concentration I grasped the point he seemed to be so desperately trying to make: my belief that JR is the greatest Wrestling commentator of all time was downright offensive to him and his earnest belief that the duo of Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon were the greatest announcers of all time.

I broke the tense standoff the only way I knew how. “Dude”, I said. “These are OPINIONS. They’re not facts. You are entitled to your opinion – and I’m entitled to mine, right?”

Thankfully, the guy calmed down, apologized for creating a disturbance. I shook his hand and headed back to the stage. I heard him call out to me.

“Mick?”

“Yeah?”

“Do you think Eric Bischoff was underrated as an announcer?”

I had him thrown out of the building immediately.

From there, Foley asked fans to engage, telling them to vote on who they feel the top-five best pro wrestling announcers of all-time are. You can post your top five on Foley’s page by clicking here.

Bayley Talks NXT’s Four Horsewomen, NXT’s Next Breakout Stars & More

8

NXT Women’s Champion Bayley recently spoke with the Journey Of A Frontman website about a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On her post-match segment at “Takeover: Brooklyn” with Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks: “It was really cool and I feel like that was a defining moment in our careers, all four of us. I feel like it’s something a lot of the fans wanted to see because they’ve seen all four of us grow up together in the past couple years. They know how hard we all worked together and what we’ve done for the division. They’ve all seen us grow separately and go our own ways. They saw Sasha and Charlotte win championships and everything. Storylines aside and everything, I know it meant the world to us because we’ve all seen each other training every day and working for the same goal. We all know how important every championship match is, especially that one. We knew that all four of us together, including the other Divas, all of us worked to get to that match where it was Sasha versus myself. If it wasn’t for Becky and Charlotte and everybody else that works hard in the division, we wouldn’t have been able to be in that spot. To us, it was all four of us together until who knows how long. They’re all doing their thing, they’re all busy on RAW and Smackdown. I’m holding it down in NXT, so who knows the next time we’ll all get to be in a ring together. And it was just respect, regardless of how we feel about each other, problems in the past. I think I finally gained Sasha Banks’s respect and showed her that I’m not just giving out high-fives and stuff, I want to take the division as far as she does. It was a really cool moment, personally and professionally. I think that’s what the fans remember most.”

On who helped mold the Bayley character in 2013: “Dusty, The American Dream. Since we had promo classes every week, he was seeing the material I was coming up with and the ideas I had. Every week he was like “Oh you should do this. You should start out with the yearbook and have all these pictures of the Divas and the Superstars. Just have them come out and sign it!” So much material and so much knowledge. He just kept telling me “Just reach back to when you were actually eleven years old or twelve years old as a fan. Just bring that out of you.” Once he said that, it was so easy because this is literally how I was when I was ten or twelve years old. In my first match as Bayley against Alicia Fox, I put my hair in a side ponytail. But if you watch it back, once I got in the ring, I took it out. I was like “Well I need to have my hair down. This is a wrestling match.” I normally had my hair down for matches. When I got to the back, the first person waiting there was Dusty. And he said “Why did you take your hair out?” “Because I don’t want it to get messed up.” I didn’t want it to get all crazy. He was like “You wear a ponytail forever now. You go out there with the ponytail, you wrestle with the ponytail. I don’t care how it looks when you get back, that’s your thing.” And I was like “Okay, cool.” So then I always wore the ponytail and I was so happy he gave me that word of advice.”

On who she feels will be the next breakout star of NXT: “Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, who are just getting started in the tag team division. Jason Jordan’s been a hidden gem for a while, so I’m glad he’s finally got something going. And Chad Gable is just amazing, he has so much charisma and he can move like nobody else in the ring. Riddick Moss and Elias Samson have so much potential and I hope they get their opportunity soon because they’re working so hard. In my opinion, they’re so good. Some of the Divas too. I feel like Carmella is gonna be a huge star one day. We have girls such as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. I think there’s going to be a lot of stars soon, even within the next six months.”

The Bella Twins On Approaching Women At The Gym, Working Out With Cena/Daniel Bryan

6

The Bella Twins recently spoke with GQ.com to talk about secret ways to pick up women at the gym. Below are some of the highlights of the interview.

On whether or not Daniel Bryan and John Cena have influenced their fitness routines:

Nikki Bella: “Actually, when John and I first started dating, I was coming back from breaking my leg. Before that, I was just the type of girl who would do cardio at the gym, lift some free weights, and take some classes. So when I was getting back into shape, he introduced me to Olympic lifting. I always had this perception that when you lift weights, you’re going to get bulky and thick. I didn’t realize you actually burn a lot of fat and that it trims you down. So when John got me past that, I just fell in love with this style of weightlifting. It has totally transformed my body.”

Brie Bella: “If Bryan is like, “I’m going to be at the gym here for two hours,” it forces me to keep myself busy for those two hours. It pushes you more! And Bryan is actually the first relationship I’ve been in where my partner enjoys a healthy lifestyle like me. Even past lifting weights at the gym. I’ve never had a loved one to go hiking with me, or to do yoga with me. And that has actually changed me. Now instead of being like, “Hey, lets go to happy hour!” it’s like, ‘Lets go find this mountain to hike.'”

Brie on whether or not people should work out with loved ones:

“I think working out with a loved one makes everything feel better! And for us, we’re constantly on the road. So I’m always looking for extra time to hang out with Bryan. When we get to work out together, yes, we’re doing something for our health. But at the same time we’re actually getting to spend some time together.”

Nikki on advice for guys who are looking to approach women at the gym:

“When she is on the treadmill, leave her alone! I can’t tell you how many guys have approached me when I’m doing cardio. Like, I have my headphones on, I’m in the zone, so don’t bother me. I think the best time to approach a woman is actually after her workout. When you’re working out, you’re playing your jam, you’re in the groove, and you don’t want to be interrupted. So guys, wait until she’s done getting her sweat on.”

The teaser for Tuesday’s episode of Total Divas and features Paige getting “the surprise of her life.”

Paige’s boyfriend Kevin Skaff, the lead guitarist and backup vocalist for the band A Day To Remember, proposes to her – and based on the preview, it doesn’t look like she’s ready for the commitment just yet.

Natalya tells her, “You barely know him, you’re not going to marry him” and Paige agrees, but he still goes through with it. Note her crossed arms while he gets down on one knee and presents the ring – never a good sign.
