Rey Mysterio On Rumors About His WWE Departure, Being Booed At Royal Rumble, More

10

Rey Mysterio, who goes one-on-one with Myzteziz (aka the original Sin Cara) at this Sunday’s TripleMania XXIII event, which airs live on North American pay-per-view, recently appeared as a guest on Ring Rust Radio to promote the show. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On his upcoming TripleMania XXIII match against Myzteziz (Sin Cara): “Well that match between us is going to a legacy defining match. There is a lot of animosity and egos that are going to come into play that night. I have to point out that this match was made for the fans by the fans. The fans were the number one critiques on who is better? Rey Mysterio or Myzteziz. At one point I left Mexico to continue my career globally and a new star came about. He is known now as Myzteziz, but back then he was known as Mistico and then Sin Cara when he joined WWE. I would have to say the fans in their eyes see a lot of similarities between us. We even tagged at one point in the WWE and now here we are against each other thanks to the fans.”

On rumors about his WWE departure: “The initial meeting in Buffalo went well. Both parties, they agreed to continue to move forward on the Rey Mysterio brand. There was no rumors, no animosity, no bad feelings between us. I feel like resigning with the company due to the fact that I had a large amount of injuries on my body. That was the number one reason why I was on the bench so long. So when it came around to resigning, they were ok with me wanting to depart and do my own thing. There was no hard feelings and we departed in an amicable way. It was my time to think for myself and act upon myself and that was the best thing I had done for myself in years. I have had time to rest and my body feels a thousand times better. I’m calling my own shots and doing things I have never been able to do in my career. I never had the freedom to do them but now I do.”

On if he’s willing to return to WWE: “Yes of course. I think that’s what every wrestler would want, there’s nothing better than dictating your own future and not over working your body. You can’t keep running on fumes constantly when you are older. You don’t see the same Rey Mysterio you see when I was 25 years old. I think it’s good to understand from both ends that I can’t deliver the way I used to when I first signed with the WWE. To make sure talent last, you have to take care of it.”

On being booed at the 2014 WWE Royal Rumble: “No hard feelings at all. One thing I have learned through the years is I have never been political about certain things and I take things lightly through my whole life. At the moment, I couldn’t believe or understand what was going on. After the match I was able to sit down and digest what was going on, and sure enough it was the fact that the fans weren’t given what they wanted. At one point I remember talking to Konnan about it, thinking if they would of let me walk down to the ring, then when the fans were booing, let me go back into gorilla and give my spot to Daniel Bryan to be number 30.”

https://twitter.com/ReneeYoungWWE/status/627614131252662272

– The WWE website has a poll asking if John Cena should accept Seth Rollins’ “Winner Takes All” match at SummerSlam later this month.

The two options available are “Yes! A broken nose can’t stop the champ!” or “No, Cena should forfeit his U.S. Title.” You can cast your vote at this link.

– On the topic of John Cena, the WWE have released a video to hype up his appearance on Tough Enough next Tuesday on the USA Network. Check it out above.

John Cena hasn’t been seen on WWE Television since Seth Rollins broke his nose during the main event on RAW which led to Rollins releasing a t-shirt mocking the situation.

Could The Undertaker Work A Match At Survivor Series This Year?

30

We already know that The Undertaker is due to take on Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam this month live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Undertaker has also been confirmed for live events in Mexico but other than that, nothing has been mentioned with regards to where he goes from here.

WWE.com have a new article up entitled “5 Unbelievable Facts About The Undertaker” which could be hinting that The Undertaker may be working Survivor Series this year to celebrate his 25th anniversary in the WWE.

“The 2015 edition of Survivor Series will claim an important place in WWE history, and not just because of the epic match card that will presumably take place. This edition of WWE’s fall classic will also mark the 25th anniversary of The Undertaker’s debut in WWE, as well as the first time the WWE Universe witnessed him earn his way into the winner’s circle. He didn’t just become The Phenom overnight. It took a long time and a lot of defeated opponents to remove all doubt about this supernatural Superstar’s capabilities in the ring.”

The 29th annual Survivor Series will take place on November 22nd at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Do you think we could see The Undertaker work the event that started it all?

*Spoilers* WWE Main Event Taping Results For This Week

0

WWE taped only two matches for this week’s edition of Main Event prior to the SmackDown taping in Sacramento, California on Tuesday night. Below are spoiler results for this week’s show.

– Big Show comes out to kick off the show. He cuts a promo on Ryback, but while he’s talking, Jack Swagger’s music hits. Swagger comes out, interrupting the giant, which leads to a match.

– Big Show def. Jack Swagger in one-on-one action in the first of only two matches taped for this week’s Main Event. This match was actually given a lot more time than you’d think. In the end, Big Show was able to hit his finisher on Swagger and score the 1-2-3.

– The Lucha Dragons def. The Ascension in tag-team action in what was the final match taped for this week’s show. This match was also given a decent amount of time. The crowd was into the action, as it was fast-paced and featured a lot of high-flying moves and big spots. In the end, The Lucha Dragons managed to pick up the “W.” After this match, WWE began taping this week’s SmackDown.

Roderick Strong On His Feud With Jay Lethal, IWGP Title Match With Okada

2

Ring Of Honor star Roderick Strong recently appeared as a guest on The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast to talk about a number of current topics. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On his feud with Jay Lethal and their recent ROH title match: “It was two guys going out there with something to prove and nothing got settled. I know Jay Lethal is probably not happy about this but August 21st I have my rematch and we can finally settle this.”

On the chemistry between the two: “I think it’s the ability to be aggressive. I’ve said in promos that I like to push the pace and I really do. In the ring there are certain matches where I like to just challenge my opponent and not in a bad way to try and embarrass them but I like to challenge somebody enough to up their aggression. Jay is a classic wrestler like me in a sense that you feed off of that and respond to it well. He is a fantastic professional wrestler that really loves the sport and understands it and I feel I’m the same. A lot of it is reaction based and I think that is what makes our chemistry so unique.”

On what is the key factor to building a true rematch: “It’s going to be a lot more intense than our first match up. Obliviously we didn’t settle what we needed to be settled and when you have a first match up like that in this kind of situation and you set the bar so high, it’s a challenge for you to go in there and see if you can top it and the thing that is great is being able to go in there with someone like Jay Lethal. We are very competitive and we want to be considered the best in the world (both of us) doing what we do. I think we are going to try and make that even better but different.”

On how to prepare for his upcoming IWGP Title match vs. Kazuchika Okada: “It’s another situation of facing somebody that many people consider the best or one of the best in the world. I am a competitive person so for me to see the match ups he has had with other people and the type of wrestler he is it’s a challenge for me to top the type of stuff he has done with other people around the world. It has people talking about us, having one of the best match ups in Ring of Honor history if not in the world and to prove that I am one of the best wrestlers currently participating in professional wrestling today.”

On if he sees himself as the MVP of Ring of Honor: “Honestly, the way I look at stuff is I go out there and do my job. My goal when I started wrestling is go at the highest level possible and I feel like I’m just starting to hit the prime of my career. For people to consider what I’ve been doing to be the MVP or (this) being the best year of my career, it makes me happy but it also motivates me to make the rest of this year and the rest of my career even better. I am always hard on myself and I’m trying to just improve as much as I possibly can. If it’s up to me, you guys have seen nothing yet.”

Tough Enough Digital Extras: ZZ Offers Chelsea Advice, Lita On Sara Lee, And More

1

As shown in the video above, on last night’s episode of Tough Enough, Chelsea was the latest competitor to be eliminated from the competition after Paige saved Gigi.

If Gigi hadn’t been saved by Paige, she would have been the one to go home, instead Chelsea was next in line and was given the boot.

The WWE’s YouTube account has shared a couple of Digital Extra videos. The first shows ZZ giving Chelsea advice following her elimination, who also talks with the remaining girls about leaving.

The second video shows Tough Enough coach Lita speaking with Renee Young about Sara Lee’s slam on Gigi which caused quite a bit of discussion during the show.

Jim Ross Q&A: Lesnar/Gay Character Rumor, Undertaker’s Condition, Kevin Owens

6

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his official Q&A section, answering questions from fans on a variety of topics. Below are some of the highlights:

On Kevin Owens and his push: “I’m not worried about Kevin Owens “push” in the least. He’s too talented to not be successful if he continues to perform as he has. Fans need to display some patience on matters such as this.”

On The Undertaker’s physical status in 2015: “Taker seems to be healthier than he has in a long time. He’s months past his last surgery to repair lingering damage. Plus, he’s a stud.”

On the possibility of a Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens “Iron Man” match at SummerSlam since it’s a four-hour show: “That would be nice but for some reason I don’t think that they will give those two 30 minutes of bell to bell time.”

On getting UFC’s Daniel Cormier on his podcast and why WWE doesn’t run TV at MSG: “Steve Austin interviewed DC today in San Jose so he will be on SCSA’s podcast soon. Good dude is Daniel Cormier. WWE loses money doing TV from MSG even with a sellout. Union costs are killers.”

On what has happened to Damien Sandow and Curtis Axel: “It’s simply how they are cast/booked on an entertainment TV program. Apparently it is thought that this is how both men can best contribute to the WWE.”

On the news that WWE writers once pitched a gay character storyline for Brock Lesnar in 2002 (which was later confirmed by a former WWE writer): “Another ridiculous tale from the IWC. That one is truly absurd.”

Several Videos Shared From Today’s Tough Enough Challenge

Konnan Talks About Burying Ric Flair, His Time In WCW, Kevin Sullivan & More

7

Mexican wrestling legend and former WCW star Konnan recently spoke with Marc Madison of The News Hub about a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On working with Kevin Sullivan: “It was excellent because Kevin was the one that had originally called me because Woman (Nancy Sullivan) was working at the time which you remember was his wife at the time. I think that she was the one that told him, ‘look, this Konnan’s I believe you can do something with him especially since you don’t have any Latino’s’. He called me and when I got there he really helped me out a lot. I was actually going to do a program with Hogan at one point for Mexico and the United States. I think what happened and I’m not sure, I have ask him about this and it is something that I want to ask him the next time I see him is, this is what I really think happened.

I got there and they really had big plans for me but I don’t think they thought I didn’t know how to wrestle the American style which Paul E made that same mistake. When I went in there, he put me in there with some American guy and we had some terrible match and I told Paul E, I don’t know how to wrestle American style. They think just because you speak English, that you could also wrestle the style and I think the same thing happened with Kevin. So I had to be deprogrammed. I had to learn how to wrestle American style. By the time, I learned I think my stock fell in their eyes. But Kevin was always like a mentor to me there.”

On the most underrated faction he was a part of in WCW: “I think the one that comes to mind is the Filthy Animals. Imagine this in the same faction. You had Torrie Wilson, Billy Kidman, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Disco Inferno, Konnan and then for a while there we had Juventud (Guererra). So there is a lot of talent right there and they just didn’t do anything with us. The problem with WCW was and we all know and it’s been well documented and I know this is going to sound redundant but you had an owner that was a mark for the stars and the stars dictated what they wanted and they made sure that none of us got through. So none of us did, a lot of these guys had there to go to WWE. I give Vince credit for that.

Chris Jericho and Rey and (Chris) Benoit and Eddie had to leave WCW to become stars, would never had happened had they stayed. The funny thing about that group was I’ll tell you how it was formed. I had actually gone to Vince Russo who had just taken over and I said, ‘look, they’ve been burying us since before you got here and I don’t know if you have any plans to do anything with us but let me get a bunch of my friends, put us together and let us have fun and if you want bury us then at least we’ll be together and we’ll get buried together’. So I basically got a bunch of my friends which were the people I just named. Torrie was actually going out with Billy so we just brought her into the fold. That’s basically how the group came about. We did some angle where we buried Ric Flair in the desert, somewhere in Vegas I believe and nothing ever happened after that. We just knew they weren’t going to do anything but at least we were having fun being together.”

New Match For WWE SummerSlam (Spoiler)

24

At Tuesday night’s WWE SmackDown tapings from Sacramento, California, it was revealed that Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose will be facing Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper at SummerSlam. The match has been built up over the past several weeks of television and was originally scheduled to feature Sting on Reigns’ team before those plans were apparently scrapped.

Beyond that match, the only match WWE has confirmed as of this writing is Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker. With a 4-hour PPV to fill, WWE will have to get the ball rolling setting up the remainder of the card. Based on recent storylines, expect to see:

  • WWE Champion Seth Rollins vs. US Champion John Cena
  • IC Champion Ryback vs. The Miz
  • Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro
  • A tag title match involving multiple teams

WWE SummerSlam will take place on Sunday, August 23rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City, New York.

*Spoilers* WWE SmackDown Taping Results For This Week

7

WWE taped this week’s edition of SmackDown in Sacramento, California on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Below are spoiler results from the tapings.

– This week’s show, much like Monday’s RAW, kicks off with a touching tribute to the late WWE Hall Of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

– Roman Reigns kicks off the show by coming to the ring for a promo segment. Reigns talks about Bray Wyatt and some of the things that have been going on between them lately. Rusev ends up coming out and warning Reigns, who he will be facing later tonight. He warns him about their match.

– Mark Henry & The Prime Time Players def. The New Day in six-man tag-team action. This was the match that was announced on RAW and the crowd seemed into boo’ing The New Day throughout the entire match. In the end, Henry and the tag-champs picked up the “W.”

– Sasha Banks & Naomi def. Charlotte & Becky Lynch in Divas tag-team action as the “Diva Revolution” continued on WWE SmackDown. This match actually started off as a one-on-one Divas match between Charlotte and Naomi, but due to interference, was turned into a tag-team contest, which the two “Team B.A.D.” members won.

– Stardust def. Zack Ryder in one-on-one competition. The crowd was into Ryder, even though he’s a New York guy and they are in California tonight. In the end, Stardust picked up the win with his finisher.

– Roman Reigns def. Rusev in the main event of this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown. They actually gave this match a good bit of time, so it will probably go through at least one commercial break on Thursday. There was a lot of back-and-forth action, but in the end, Reigns picked up the “W” via pinfall. The show went off the air after this match.

John Cena Announced For Next Week’s WWE Tough Enough

17

WWE announced during Tuesday’s edition of WWE Tough Enough on the USA Network that current WWE United States Champion John Cena will be appearing on next week’s edition of Tough Enough.

Cena has not appeared on WWE television since breaking his nose in a match against Seth Rollins on last week’s edition of RAW.

While Cena has been removed from a number of WWE live events, based on last night’s RAW, it appears he will be facing WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a “title versus title — winner take all” match at WWE SummerSlam.

Rey Mysterio On Biggest Reason He Left WWE, Possibly Joining Lucha Underground

24

Longtime wrestling veteran Rey Mysterio recently spoke with the folks at Rolling Stone to promote the AAA “TripleMania XXIII” pay-per-view event scheduled for this Sunday, August 9th, live in North America. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On the past five months since leaving WWE: “I don’t regret any steps that I take in life. This is something that I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I really wanted to have some time off, without feeling any sort of commitment to be on a certain schedule. Now, I’m doing things my way, under my terms. I’m dictating my pace towards retirement. I’m not on the grind. I was constantly competing. This is a good thing for me. This is something that my wife and I thought would be best for my body and for myself. I get to be a husband and a father again. I get to enjoy time with my kids now. I was a workaholic for so many years. I’ve missed so many birthdays and anniversaries. Now that my kids are a bit older, I want to be around and I want to enjoy it. I want to send my kids off to college if that’s what they want to do. I want to do all the family things I’ve missed over the years.”

On the biggest reason he left WWE: “Family was the biggest reason. If anything, I’ll probably do appearances. I’m not trying to stay busy. I’m trying to enjoy my time at home and be around my kids. I want to vacation. I’m a big family guy. I want to do more with them. That was the primary reason that I stepped away. Opportunities are starting to arise. After 15 years, I didn’t know what was out there. I had been wrestling with WWE all that time and wasn’t focusing on anything outside of that. I’m realizing that there’s a lot of opportunities there. The question is just whether I want to take them.”

On his current relationship with WWE: “There’s definitely no hard feelings with WWE. I’m very thankful to them for the opportunity that was given to me. The lifestyle I have now is due to the success that I had there. There’s one thing that I’ve always been is appreciative of the opportunities that are given to me. I’ve always left every company that I’ve been with on good terms; WWE is no exception. I have no negative comments or feelings towards WWE at all.

As far as Konnan’s part in all this, he got a little overexcited. I’ve been very close to Konnan for many years now. I thank him for much of my success in this industry. He opened the doors for me in AAA, ECW and WCW. I’m very thankful. Even though we don’t see each other as much, we do talk a lot. He would hear many times that I was tired and constantly on the grind. I would pour my heart out to him on many occasions. When my term was coming up and that I was thinking about not re-signing, I told him about it, and I think he was just excited for me.”

On possibly joining Lucha Underground: “That’s something that I’m looking at right now. If the opportunity is right, if the negotiations go well and there’s an interest in both parties, then I’d definitely like to do that. I enjoy their show very much right now. That’s as close as it’s going to get, at least right now, to lucha libre in the U.S. I’m going back to my roots, this is what I thrive off of. It’s never too late, so if the opportunity comes about, and the offer is good, then I don’t see why not.”

WWE’s Post-SummerSlam Plans For Undertaker, News On “Cesaro Section” Signs At RAW

110

WWE is planning on having The Undertaker appear on at least one episode of WWE RAW after this year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Taker is scheduled to go one-on-one with Brock Lesnar in a rematch of their historic WrestleMania XXX showdown.

For those asking about the “Cesaro Section” signs all over the lower half of the SAP Center in San Jose, California on Monday night during RAW, apparently WWE had nothing to do with them. A fan who attended the show reportedly printed out 7,000 “Cesaro Section” signs and handed them out by himself to fans at the show.

WWE Promotes Stephen Amell Appearing On Next Week’s RAW

4

As reported on Monday night, WWE announced during this week’s RAW that actor Stephen Amell of “Arrow” fame will be appearing on next Monday night’s RAW, likely to confront his on-air nemesis, Stardust.

WWE issued the following press release late Monday evening to publicize the fact that Amell will be appearing on next week’s show.

STEPHEN AMELL TO GUEST STAR ON WWE® MONDAY NIGHT RAW®

STAMFORD, Conn., August 3, 2015 – Actor Stephen Amell, who plays the title role on the hit series Arrow, will guest star on WWE’s Monday Night Raw next Monday, August 10, at 8/7C on USA Network. After several visits to Monday Night Raw, Amell will be appearing as a guest star for the first time.

Based on characters from DC Comics, Arrow tells the story of billionaire Oliver Queen who, after being gone for five years and suffering unimaginable ordeals, returned home to Starling City with a mysterious agenda and a set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime as “The Arrow” in this hard-hitting action series.

Next up for Amell is the role of Casey Jones in Paramount Pictures’ and Nickelodeon Movies’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Produced by Michael Bay, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 opens in theaters Summer 2016.

Each week, it is rated one of the most socially active shows on cable television and continues to be a “must-stop” for celebrities to reach WWE’s TV audience and its more than half a billion social media followers.

Detailed Recap Of Paige On The “Stone Cold Podcast” On August 3rd

51

The following is a complete recap of Paige’s appearance on the “Stone Cold Podcast.” The show aired live on the WWE Network on Monday, August 3, 2015. The following report comes from Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net.

Steve Austin welcomed viewers and the volume of his mic shot way up whenever he raised his voice. Austin introduced Paige and asked what she thought of her match. She said it was “cool” yet said she’s her biggest critic. Austin said they both swear a lot and this should be an Unleashed show. Paige confessed she swears in the ring and has to apologize for it.

Austin noted that Paige is a ten-year veteran. A shot aired of a young Paige on the set’s video screen. Austin noted Pagie’s mother and father Ricky and Saraya Knight. A shot of Paige with her parents appeared on the screen. She noted that her brother wrestles and another brother is a referee. Paige said she was afraid of the violence because her mom was blinded six months into the business. She said she was one of the kids who tried to get inside the ring because she was so worked up.

Austin asked if Paige’s parents ever smartened her up. Paige said not when she was young, but eventually she told them she knows what it is. She said she got knocked out when she got in the ring, but she doesn’t remember what knocked her out. She guessed she didn’t tuck her chin while taking a bump. Austin brought up the Youtube documentary on her family. She spoke about her family and said the idea was to show them leading up to her tryout and perhaps the film would have a happy ending if she got in.

Austin brought up Paige’s bartending and bouncing career. She laughed and talked about how her parents would go away and leave her in charge of the bar at age 15. She said she headlocked one guy, and pinned another guy up against a wall.

Paige said the best part of her family’s promotion is that American wrestlers would come over. She spoke about meeting Jake Roberts, The Bushwhackers, and Yokozuna.

Austin asked her about transitioning to Paige. She spoke about Dusty helping her by keeping her sane. She said the job is hard whether people believe it or not. Cody told her that Dusty liked to play with the broken toys, so Dusty spent a lot of time working with her. She said Dusty spoke to her about saving her money. She was also censored when she recalled Dusty telling her he wanted chicken dinner from one of her promos and she gave him chicken shit. She recalled Dusty taking her outside and talking with her on the steps of the Performance Center for 20 minutes and telling her that she has something special and can be a star someday.

Paige said she did promos, but she didn’t realize you could tell a story in a promo. She also laughed as she told stories about her father having her work through injuries when she was younger.

Austin brought up John Cena’s broken nose and how he kept doing. Paige said good for him. She said it’s awesome and he’s old school. She said she looks at it the same way. She recalled Daniel Bryan wanting to do the same and not being allowed to. She spoke about having a broken wrist and being knocked out and still continuing through matches when she was younger.

Paige spoke about her mother being a big influence after Austin praised her mother’s work. Paige said her mom would slow her down with a shot if she was working too fast. She said she would do the same in developmental and people would tell her you can’t do that.

Austin asked Paige why she asks people why they want her autograph. She said she thinks it’s more of a low self esteem thing. She said there are all of the gorgeous superstars and she’s a girl from a small town.

Paige recalled The Rock told her to stay humble and hungry. Austin told her that fans who ask for her autograph means she struck a chord with them and maybe they live vicariously through her. Austin suggested that Paige step back when she’s not on the road and realize what she’s doing and how powerful her presence is.

Austin asked who she travels with. Paige said sometimes she travels by herself. She said she used to travel with Emma. She said they used to travel five or six to a car in England.

Austin asked where she feels she is in the business. Paige said she’s still learning. Austin said it’s a benchmark in terms of putting it all together. She said she feels that way some days, but there are other days when she questions whether she gets it.

Austin asked about the transition from NXT to the main roster. Paige said it’s about being bigger. She said it’s entertainment and there are millions of people watching via the camera and thousands in the arena.

Austin recalled working in front of 15-20 people in a parking lot. She said she hears people talking about 1,800 people being a bad live event crowd, but to her it’s still a lot of people. Paige said she would go out there and put on a show even if there was only one person there.

The conversation turned to Tough Enough. Paige said apparently she’s the bad guy. Austin said he enjoys the hell out of the show and he’s not just saying it for a plug. Austin said it was met with some indifference initially this year because they made changes to the format. Paige said she’s received grief (death threats?) because of the way she interacts with the contestants. Austin said she’s being honest and helping them. “My parents did that to me,” she said. Paige said they did it to other people and recalled her mom working up a woman named Bethany who wouldn’t come out of her shell. Bethany slapped her mom, and her mom said that’s the intensity they wanted to see from her.

She also spoke about the Patrick elimination. Paige said she put him in the bottom three and didn’t expect him to go. She said she got backlash for it, but she blamed the fans for not voting for him since they decide the fate of the contestants.

Paige said Mada looked great and could deliver a promo. Austin said Mada stood out and jumped off the television screen. Paige said she doesn’t have anything against Amanda, but she doesn’t think she should have been saved because Miz felt she was hot.

It was time for the story about Daniel Bryan meeting her family. She said she met him in roughly 2003. She said no one picked him up at the airport and he had to make his way to the locker room. She said Bryan saw her dad and his brother punching a guy and dangling a guy out the window. Bryan thought it was a British thing. Paige’s mom apologized. Bryan said it happens all the time in America, thinking she was referring to him working multiple matches on one show.

Paige said she drinks beer and whiskey and that she wants to make the WWE Hall of Fame some day.

Videos: First WWE 2K16 Gameplay & Entrances Footage

WWE 2K16 is due for release in October and IGN have gotten their hands on some exclusive information in regards to what the next instalment in the franchise will bring us.

They spoke in particular about the roster which will feature over 120 unique playable characters and when they asked what “unique” meant, they liked the answer they were given.

IGN were told that what it means is that “in most cases” it’s a different person and not several versions of a particular character as we’ve seen in the past.

For example, if a performer has two different gimmicks, they would be counted as separate unique characters but same wrestlers from different eras wouldn’t count towards the 120 character list.

Once again, purely for an example (as presented by IGN) Dude Love, Cactus Jack and Mankind would be three unique characters whereas Triple H from the 90s and from today would be just one character.

Of course those characters and or eras haven’t yet been confirmed but IGN were speaking hypothetically with regards to how characters and their gimmicks will be portrayed.

IGN also note:

  • MyCareer is back, and this time it goes a lot further, all the way to you gaining admission to the WWE Hall of Fame.
  • Create a Diva, Create a Show, Create an Arena, and Create a Championship are back in!
  • WWE Universe: Wrestlers can now be booked to multiple shows
  • Online has been “overhauled.”
  • Three-man commentary team, with John “Bradshaw” Layfield joining King and Cole.
  • Ladder, handicap, and tornado tag match types added back in.
  • No loading screens between entrances, and you can assault opponents during their entrance!
  • Improved ref and manager AI.

Seth Rollins’ entrance wasn’t the only one to be released, current NXT Champion Finn Balor’s entrance was also released by IGN and can be seen below:

WWE 2K16 is due for release on PS4, XBox One, PS3 and XBox 360 in North America on October 27th, followed by its international release on October 30th.

Mick Foley Shares Another Roddy Piper Tribute, Cesaro Shares Photo Of Fans

– Taking to his Facebook page just hours after RAW, Mick Foley shared another tribute to the late “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Along with the video above, Mick posted the following:

MY MINUTE WITH RODDY

Of course you recognize that line about chewing bubblegum and kicking butt from “They Live”. It’s classic! But there’s a good chance you’ve never seen the scene Roddy and I shared in the documentary film “I Am Santa Claus”. It’s barely a minute long – but within that short time, you will see Roddy get big laughs and absolutely steal the show with a simple arch of an eyebrow and the inflection of his voice. I loved this scene when Roddy was with us. Now that he’s gone, I treasure it,
I hope that you who watch it will love or treasure it too.

– Following RAW, Cesaro posted a photo onto his Instagram page to acknowledge all the fans who held up “Cesaro Section” signs during the broadcast:
