  • Million Dollar Man Speaks On Undertaker’s Streak Ending, His Past With Warrior

    14

The following are highlights of a recent Inside The Ropes interview with “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase:

On his past comments about Ultimate Warrior and his WWE Hall Of Fame induction: “I mean, I don’t hate the guy. It goes back to anybody that watched the DVD, The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, that really tells the story. Obviously, if Vince has decided he needs to be in the Hall of Fame, I’m not going to begrudge that and obviously I’m going to be there. I quite frankly, don’t know how many of my peers believes he really deserves it because…it’s not just about being the star it’s about a number of things, it comes back down to the gratitude thing. None of us would be stars, when I was inducted I had a list of people that I needed to thank. Harley Race was there in the crowd and I pointed Harley out. I think that’s it, the overall lack of gratitude that the Warrior has shown over the years. Where it makes most of us go ‘Who do you think you are?’ Doesn’t he realise that none of this would be happening if it wasn’t for a lot of help from a lot of people. I think that’s pretty much the consensus. I don’t begrudge him. I’m not that kinda guy to hold a grudge. If I had to feel one thing towards Jim Hellwig, I guess it would be pity a little bit. I’ve heard other people say that he just generally has the attitude that it’s about succeeding in life and you’re going to have to do what you can to get ahead and if that means stepping on people along the way then so be it. That, in my opinion, is a very sad commentary and a very poor way to look at life. So am I going to begrudge him for going into the Hall of Fame? No.”

On Ultimate Warrior’s induction speech: “I often wonder if Vince has thought about that. Here’s his one opportunity to lay it all out there and vent out his frustrations on all of us who think he isn’t worthy. Hopefully he won’t do that. I heard that Linda McMahon is inducting him. You have to ask yourself why? Why is Linda McMahon inducting him? Maybe he couldn’t find anyone else to do it.”

On The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak ending: “People ask me, I have mixed feelings. One part of me says leave the streak, it’s an honor to who he is, and how his character has endured and to Taker who’ll always be remembered. But you know, the other part of me think it’s like when Andre The Giant allowed Hulk Hogan to beat him at WrestleMania 3, he passed the torch. I feel that’s one of those things that has to happen. After all, it’s a business. You’ve got to have new stars and you need people to pass the torch to build those stars. I don’t know, but either way I’ll be happy.”

  • Dolph Ziggler Speaks On Camaraderie In WWE, His Tough Schedule & More

    2

The following are highlights of a recent CBS Boston interview with Dolph Ziggler:

On camaraderie in WWE: “I think a long time ago it was guys only looking out for themselves, getting stabbed in the back and stepped over. Now it’s more of a group family trying to produce an amazing WWE show. That camaraderie is there. But when it comes to me, sometimes I travel with a small handful of people or by myself. And after a crazy show I’ll do an awesome workout in the gym, do a four hour drive somewhere and just wanna crash in silence and not wanna see anybody for a couple hours.”

On an average day in his life: “If I didn’t have media this morning I’d be working out. We were in Brooklyn last night for sold out Monday Night Raw and we were done at 11:30pm. We were on the road by 12 and maybe got here at like 3, 4 o’ clock. I had a 6am wake up to do some media for a couple hours. I’ll maybe catch a one hour nap, probably not. I’ll get into work. We’re always there way ahead of time and have the whole day to prepare, find a gym, workout and we’ll be at the arena all night until Smackdown is over. It’s a very busy day one way or another. The schedule never ends. There’s no offseason. There’s no breaks. It’s great. It’s nonstop and it’s a little exhausting, but we are nonstop doing over 300 live events a year. We’re always reaching out to another country. We’re expanding globally everywhere. The fans keep coming out to support us so we add shows whenever we get a chance. That’s why we’re so busy. The outreach goes out to kids, families, grown ups. We have a great family show that we’re very proud of. It’s a little different than the era a few years ago. You can bring grandma and grandpa, so we’re able to keep constantly adding shows and every year we do a few more.”

  • Reaction To Daniel Bryan’s RAW Absence, Jonathan Coachman Returning To WWE?

    23

    – WWE fans were reportedly unhappy with the absence of Daniel Bryan on Monday’s RAW in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to being advertised locally for the dark match main event, it was outright mentioned on Friday’s edition of SmackDown, as well as the RAW pre-show on Monday night that Daniel Bryan would be on RAW.

It’s worth noting that Bryan is also excluded from the advertising for tonight’s WWE SmackDown television taping in Boston.

    – Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman recently teased a possible WWE return on Twitter. The Coach tweeted the following on Tuesday afternoon:

  • Hulk Hogan Reveals How His WWE Return Came About, Talks Warrior/WWE HOF

    5

As previously reported, WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan appeared on Huffington Post Live on Monday to promote WrestleMania XXX. Beyond the sex tape information that was reported yesterday, Hogan also talked about a couple of current WWE-related topics.

As far as his actual WWE return, Hogan noted that it came about when Triple H saw him at a charity event in New York City a few years ago. He said Triple H approached him and asked him straight out, “when are you coming home?” Hogan said that he mentioned to Triple H that he didn’t think Vince McMahon wanted him back, but Triple H assured him that he did. Hogan noted that TNA public relations executive Mike Weber was standing right next to him when Triple H was talking to him.

Hogan again dropped the “never say never” line when asked about working one final match, but did note that he wouldn’t ever be able to do his trademark leg drop again.

When the subject of The Ultimate Warrior came up, Hogan mentioned that he and Warrior don’t communicate much these days, but did say that he’s excited to see him be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year.

  • The Importance of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

    56

A few weeks back, Hulk Hogan announced the first-ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. At first it seemed like it would be a one-off gimmick simply designed to get more guys onto the WrestleMania card.

Since then, it was announced that it would be a yearly event where the winner would carry around the trophy until the next year’s contest. As of now, there are only four open spots remaining, with some of the most notable entrants including Big Show, Goldust, Sheamus Alberto Del Rio, Big E, and the Miz.

With the field all but set, I thought it would be interesting to look at which superstars could benefit the most from winning the battle royal and sporting the shiny new Andre the Giant trophy for the next 365 days.

    Titus O’Neil

    Titus O'Neil
    Titus O’Neil

Following the breakup of the Prime Time Players, O’Neil turned heel and it seemed like they would finally give him the push many believe he deserves. That hasn’t really been the case, however, as he has pretty much jobbed since parting with Darren Young. Putting O’Neil over at WrestleMania and having him carry around the trophy for the next year could be the push he needs to solidify his spot in the middle of the card.

    Damien Sandow

    Damien Sandow
    Damien Sandow

It seemed like Sandow was finally going somewhere after winning the Money in the Bank briefcase last year. Any hopes were quickly gone though after he lost pretty much every match while holding the briefcase and unsuccessfully cashed in against Cena as the WWE attempted to gain a few points in the ratings while going up against the World Series. Sandow would be the perfect guy to hold the trophy, as he would certainly talk himself up (think Owen Hart with his Slammy Awards) while occasionally expressing contempt toward the trophy.

  • Backstage News On WWE’s Plans To Induct The Rock & nWo In Their Hall Of Fame

    6

While there have been some rumors that the reason WWE is inducting Scott Hall as “Razor Ramon” to the WWE Hall Of Fame this year is because they plan to induct him again as Scott Hall next year as part of a faction-induction with the nWo, that likely won’t be the case, at least not in 2015.

From all accounts, it appears as though WWE is hoping to induct The Rock next year, and the guys in the nWo (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) probably won’t want to be inducted the same year as Rock, as they would likely be featured as the “co-main event” of the ceremony with The Rock being the obvious headliner.

  • Todd Keneley Talks Jeff Jarrett’s New Promotion, TNA Using Cheap Finishes & More

    0

The following are highlights of a new interview with Todd Keneley:

On Jeff Jarrett’s new “Project” and the execution of the viral campaign: “I think people are interested, and he has kept pretty closely guarded. I think it’s good that Jeff has expressed that he is looking at the fans perspective and what they want to see. He’s got his clues here and there, but then he’s been out there traveling, going around the country scouting talent. I think it’s cool that step by step we’re learning a little more, now of course he’s announced his first real size able announcement. I’d be very anxious to see what he has to say the day after WrestleMania.”

Thoughts on if Jeff’s new project needs a TV right out of the gate to make a big splash: “If you look at Jeff’s history, he found a way when he launched TNA in terms of doing the weekly PPVs. With WWE doing the network the business has really changed. There might be some more availability in the PPV market if you do it correctly. I think in a fans perspective and just about anyone’s perspective whether it’s necessary or not, TV obviously seems to be a very important part of the ball game. Just for perception i think it would certainly help. If it is CMT i think wrestling would be right at home there especially if Toby Keith is involved. Jeff has found ways to work around having a traditional TV distribution deal in the past. With this i think he’s biding his time, i don’t think he’s rushing anything here. I think he’s going to have all of his ducks in a row before he launches. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had TV all tied up.”

Daniel Bryan winning the title at WrestleMania: “I’m cautiously optimistic. We will see. You can look at this one or two ways. You can look at it as WWE are geniuses and they took the fans for a ride and they knew what the end game was gonna be all along and they’ve got the fans even that more passionate to get there. Or it could be that the fans are really that passionate and really that powerful that they can change the WrestleMania main event. It might be a little of both but i think it’s the latter. I think the reaction at the Royal Rumble had to surprise the WWE. People had one man they wanted to see in that Royal Rumble match and they didn’t get it. As a result, the fans voiced their opinion and now here we are. I think it’s a more intriguing set up to WrestleMania because of it, because the fans now feel empowered. The fans believe they played a big part in this. I think that’s pretty awesome and that’s the magic of professional wrestling. I don’t see how you can rob Daniel Bryan of that moment at WrestleMania, I think WrestleMania has got to end with thousands upon thousands of people chanting yes and Bryan holding up the title. How do you waste that opportunity? I just don’t see it happening.”

TNA’s using cheap finishes in World Title matches: “On PPV in a world title match people deserve a clean finish especially when you look at recent history. You went through an entire reign of Aces & Eights with Bully Ray as a world champion. There you know you’re going to have interference, you know you’re going to have screwy finishes. Then AJ wins the title but now you’ve got Dixie hellbent on getting rid of AJ, so you’re going to throw absolutely everything but the kitchen sink at AJ to get the title off of him and on to Magnus. Now you’ve got this handpicked company champion doing Dixie’s bidding so you know during that run it’s going to be squirrely. But i’m hoping that it’s going to play into the whole MVP storyline and getting back to pure wrestling that he will make make Magnus put his money where his mouth is and defend the title on a regular basis and do it the right way. If it plays off that way then it makes MVP’s position and role that much more important because we’ve been through this for so long. Now if it doesn’t and this continues then yeah i’d say at some point you’ve gotta jump off that train. But we’ll see.”

Official Hercules Movie Poster & New Photos The Rock In Character

The official trailer has been released for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s upcoming summer blockbuster, Hercules. The film, which is based on the graphic novel “Hercules: The Thracian Wars,” is scheduled for a July 25th release. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Having enduring his legendary twelve labors, Hercules, the Greek demigod, has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord.”

WWE Diva Tamina also has a small role in the film.

Jim Ross Blog: Razor Ramon, Cena vs. Wyatts, Lesnar vs. Undertaker

    0

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can check out at his newly redesigned website, JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

John Cena & The Wyatt Family: “Thoroughly enjoyed the Luke Harper vs. John Cena bout. Good showing for Harper. Harper’s a keeper and, yes, he reminds me, and others, of the late, Bruiser Brody. Next time he’s on TV, take a long gander into Luke’s eyes….they’re empty…great trait for a wrestler of Luke’s ilk.”

“Don’t be shocked if Bray Wyatt upsets John Cena at WM30. I expect the two, former, college. offensive linemen to bring the physicality.”

Razor Ramon Joining The WWE Hall of Fame: “Congrats to Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon for his induction into the 2014 class of the WWE Hall of Fame. Shame on me for suggesting on Twitter @JRsBBQ that Scott’s son Cody induct his father. I got ‘woodshedded’ for that suggestion as most people want Scott’s nWo teammate and long time friend Kevin Nash to do the honors. That works for me too.”

The Shield vs. Real Americans: “Solid, old school style tag team match featuring the Shield and the Real Americans. Aggressive…physical…good emotion by the heroes especially Rollins. In the territory days, many bookers would have loved to have a villain duo like Cesaro and Swagger for many reasons.”

Brock Lesnar & The Undertaker: “Surprised to see the physicality between Lesnar and the Undertaker on RAW. First the hocus pocus and then just a splash of saucey aggression which saw Taker with the upper hand and Lesnar exit a hot kitchen.”

Dish Network Decides To Carry WrestleMania XXX, Total Divas Viewership

The Walking Dead, which went head-to-head with Total Divas, drew a massive 13.47 million viewers. That show has its season finale this coming Sunday.

    – After announcing that they would not be carrying WrestleMania XXX on pay-per-view, Dish Network has decided they will in fact offer the show. The company received a lot of negative feedback from fans for initially dropping WrestleMania and will decide on a case by case basis whether to carry WWE pay-per-view events moving forward.
