Paul Heyman Opens RAW, Brock Lesnar Attacks Mark Henry

RAW opens with CM Punk’s theme music immediately hitting. Nobody comes out for several seconds and then Paul Heyman waddles his way out to a round of boo’s. Heyman hits the ring and when the music stops an insanely loud “CM Punk, CM Punk” chant breaks out. Heyman says he deserves louder than that. They chant even louder.

Heyman sits down in the middle of the ring Indian style, ala Punk. Heyman says he came here tonight to tell the story of a Paul Heyman guy. A Paul Heyman guy who was never truly wanted in WWE. A Paul Heyman guy that “they” thought was too small to main event WrestleMania. The CM Punk chants start up again as Heyman continues to tell his story about Punk. Heyman says this is his pipe bomb about CM Punk, “who is not here this evening.” They loudly boo and chant CM Punk again. Heyman says he doesn’t disagree with the fans. Heyman says so what really happened, why isn’t CM Punk here and why won’t anyone talk about him anymore? He says there is someone to blame as to why Punk wouldn’t put up with things anymore. Heyman says tonight he will point the blame as to why Punk isn’t here anymore. He says he blames each and every single one of the fans for it. Heyman brags about Punk setting a record as champion when he was with him and then the fans took him away. He says the fans not only took CM Punk away from him, but he took him away from yourselves.

Heyman says he not only blames the fans, but he also blames The Undertaker. He says this entire downward spiral began when “we” couldn’t end the streak and beat The Undertaker. Heyman says he wants revenge. Heyman says he wants to see the streak taken away from The Undertaker and there’s only one man who can do it. That’s Brock Lesnar. This brings out Lesnar.

Lesnar comes to the ring and when his music stops, the very loud CM Punk chants break out once again. Heyman introduces a video recap of what happened with Lesnar and Undertaker last week on RAW. Lesnar has a little wrap around his hand where Undertaker stabbed him, by the way. When we return live from the video recap, an insanely loud CM Punk chant breaks out again. Lesnar takes the mic and the crowd boo’s.

Brock says unlike some people, he doesn’t make claims that he can’t back up. He says he thinks Undertaker attacked him last week because he’s scared of him. He says everyone has failed in attempting to conquer the streak. He lists some guys who tried and failed. He calls them all failures. He says at WrestleMania 30, the streak is going to get conquered by him. He throws the mic down.

Out of nowhere, Mark Henry’s music hits and out he comes. Lesnar attacks Henry. He slams him into the steps outside the ring. Lesnar goes over and clears off the announce table. Lesnar hoists Henry up and hits him with an F-5 through the table. The crowd barely reacts to that, and immediately start back up with loud CM Punk chants. Lesnar’s music hits and he and Heyman leave.

    WWE Tag-Team Championships
The New Age Outlaws (c) vs. The Usos

WWE Tag-Team Championship action is up next. On that note, we head to our first commercial break of the evening. When we return from commercial, a graphic airs explaining that this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony will air live on the WWE Network.

We shoot back live to the arena and Justin Roberts announces that this match is for the WWE Tag-Team Championships. “Oh, you didn’t know?!” Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, The New Age Outlaws, make their way to the ring in WrestleMania jerseys. Road Dogg gets in the ring and says he doesn’t think Chicago is worthy of hearing his catchphrases. The Usos theme music hits and out they come.

The bell rings and Jey Uso and The Road Dogg start things off. The CM Punk chants immediately start up as Uso goes to work on Road Dogg. Road Dogg reverses Uso and slams him upside down in the corner. Road Dogg tags in Gunn and Gunn picks up where he left off, hammering away at Jey in the center of the ring. Gunn blasts Uso a few times and then tags Road Dogg back in. Another loud CM Punk chant breaks out as Uso reverses Road Dogg in the corner and fires away with punches. Road Dogg catches Uso coming off the ropes with a big clothesline to slow his momentum down. Road Dogg throws Uso over the top as another loud CM Punk chant breaks out. We head to a mid-match commercial.

When we return from commercial, Road Dogg has Uso in a headlock and Uso is trying to fight his way out. Road Dogg immediately tags in Gunn and Gunn goes to work on Uso. Uso hits a big spin kick out of nowhere on Road Dogg and now both guys are down. The entire arena is clapping and encouraging Jey to make the tag. He does. Jimmy Uso takes the hot tag and is flooring Road Dogg and Gunn. Uso hits a big Samoan Drop on Gunn. Road Dogg tries interfering but Uso gets him down as well. Uso hits the ropes but Gunn catches him coming off with a big tilt-a-whirl slam.

Gunn goes for the FameAsser but Uso avoids it. He superkicks Road Dogg off the apron and makes the tag as he dives out onto him. The other Uso comes in and blasts Gunn. He follows up with a big top-rope splash. 1-2-3. The Usos win. We have new WWE Tag-Team Champions.

Winners and NEW WWE Tag-Team Champions: The Usos

Backstage: WWE Divas Drool Over Aaron Paul

After a preview for the Need For Speed movie, we shoot backstage and a bunch of the WWE Divas are talking about Aaron Paul. They make a lame sex joke and then we go to commercial.

    Big E. vs. Cesaro

When we return from commercial, WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E. is finishing up his entrance. The bell rings and we see Cesaro is his opponent. Immediately Cesaro does an impressive power spot, slamming Big E. down as the crowd pops. Big E. quickly turns the tide and spears him in the corner of the ring. Cesaro reverses the momentum and throws Big E. out to the floor. When he comes back in the ring, Cesaro immediately grabs Big E. by the legs and does his Cesaro Swing to the big man. He swings him about ten times or so. Out of nowhere, Jack Swagger comes in and hits a Swagger Bomb on Big E. The referee calls for the bell. Cesaro is disqualified.

    Winner via Disqualification: Big E.

    After The Match:

After the match, Cesaro looks pissed and is talking to Zeb Colter while Swagger paces out on the floor. Cesaro turns around right into a Big Ending from Big E. Colter looks confused as he stares at Cesaro down in the ring and Swagger shouting from the floor.

MVP Speaks On CM Punk At RAW Tonight, His Thoughts On Dixie Carter & More

    4

The following are highlights of a recent Busted Open Radio Show interview with MVP:

On if he expects CM Punk at RAW tonight: “You’re asking me my gut….I really have no feel. He has been very polarizing. Fans watch the product and then take their position as fans with no knowledge of what goes on from a business standpoint. At the end of the day, even though we are fans of the product, we are businessmen. Punk had to stand up for himself from a business standpoint. One thing about the WWE, no matter how bad you mess up you can always come back as we have seen. Punk has a contractual obligation he has to fill out at some point. I’m sure he will be back at some capacity to honor the remainder of his contract at the very least. But will he back tonight? I can’t say.”

On how much creative pull he has in TNA: “Before I decided to go over to TNA, we had a long talk about where they were going creatively in the future and what they were doing with new talent and how they are doing a reset. John Gaburick, who I worked with in WWE and Dave Lagana who I worked with in the WWE, we had a good relationship and even though I’m not some creative genius, but I love pro wrestling and I love the creative aspect of it and they have been very open to my suggestions. I have lots of creative input. As a matter of fact, I’m encouraged to be given creative suggestions. It’s been real cool in that regard.”

On if he’s under contract to TNA: “As of this moment, we are still working out the crossing of T’s and dotting I’s so to speak. We have come to terms, but there is some minor legalities that still needs to be worked out. But as far as me and TNA are concerned, we are good. I’ve always wanted TNA to succeed, even when I was with the WWE. I said I had friends over there that I wanted to do well. The most prosperous times were the times of the Monday Night Wars. There were something like 12 million people watching wrestling. There were also guys too that I wanted to work with. Samoa Joe, I’ve been wanting to work with him since we were in the indies together. I don’t think you want to lace up the boots if you don’t want to work with Kurt Angle. I finally got a chance to work with Bobby Roode and I’m sure that’s the first of many to come. It’s a roster loaded with talent, I just think in the past there were some decisions that were made that probably weren’t for the best, but hopefully those mistakes were recognized and now will be rectified.”

On his thoughts of Dixie Carter: “She understands her role and she understands what we are trying to create. In order to have a reset and have a breath of fresh air concept, there has to be major changes. That why at Lockdown, if I win, I assume control of wrestling operations and Dixie is banished to the front office. Yes, she will still be a part of the company. She is the owner of the company. We are not going to insult anyone’s intelligence by saying ‘Dixie is gone forever’. No, she will still be around and I’m sure she will still be on tv periodically. You’re still going to see her relating to the company, but now it will be just the stuff she does well and that’s business.”

  • Jim Ross Blog: Tonight’s RAW, CM Punk Rumors, Filming For WWE Network

    0

The following are highlights from the latest Jim Ross blog:

On his “Ringside” shows this past weekend: “My sincere thanks to all the great people who helped make RINGSIDE: An Evening with Jim Ross in NYC a success. We had great crowds at the Gramercy Theater and everyone seemed to have fun. This is a new project for me and one that I’m endeavoring to make better every time out.”

“I know that we will never be able to make everyone happy but I remain diligent to do the best shows that I possibly can.”

On tonight’s RAW: “Should be an interesting RAW tonight from Chicago as it relates to continuing to build WM30. I’m still of the belief that the full card and the ongoing creative for WM30 will remain fluid through the last RAW of the build to the biggest event of the year in WWE.”

“Obviously, many fans are speculating that CM Punk will be back on RAW Monday night from his hometown in Chicago. Whether Punk is back or not, if I’m WWE I’m embracing the opportunity to produce a three hour show in front of one of the most passionate and enthusiastic audiences in the world.”

“Just let things unfold as they will and roll with it, would be my suggestion. To over think how any crowd will or won’t respond is fruitless to my way of thinking. If WWE tries to lead the audience, I’m thinking that will be a mistake.”

On shooting footage for the Paul Heyman DVD and the WWE Network: “Spent approximately three hours doing the Paul Heyman DVD interview in Stamford on Thursday plus some other really cool, WWE Network interviews.”

  • Wrestling Legend Billy Robinson Passes Away At Age 74

    4

Billy Robinson, who is considered one of the best technical wrestlers in history, passed away in his sleep today at age 74.

Robinson helped train several of the biggest names in pro wrestling history, including Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, The Iron Sheik and Sgt. Slaughter.

The news was confirmed by Robinson’s friend, Jake Shannon of Scientific Wrestling, who posted the following on Facebook:

“I am unbelievably sad to report that my very good friend Billy Robinson passed away today. I hadn’t heard from him in days so I contacted his apartment complex to check in on him. When I called back for a progress report, the apartment manager put the police on the phone. It seems he passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was a lion of a man, bigger than life in so many ways. My wife and I named our youngest son Lliam in his honor. You will be sorely missed, my friend. Thank you so much for living the life you did.”

Seth Rollins Says He Got Impatient In NXT, Talks Goals For His Future In WWE

    30

The following are highlights of a recent Red Eye Chicago interview with Seth Rollins:

On getting impatient during his NXT run: “I think the couple of years in developmental was really starting to get me impatient. It’s not a bad thing that you get that mindset because you want to be on the main roster and working with the top guys.”

“I spent a lot of time on the independent scene honing my craft, so I thought I was ready from day one. But the time I spent in NXT was the best things that could happen in my career. It gave me the mindset that I could succeed at the highest level. When it was time to get called up and The Shield was ready to make an impact, I was nervous, excited, but most importantly prepared for [it]. I think that preparation and confidence came across well in front of the WWE universe.”

On where he sees himself in five years: “I see myself as world champion. If you were in my position and you aren’t saying that, something is wrong with you. I want to be holding a title, beating up John Cena and Randy Orton and headlining pay-per-views. I have the confidence and drive and those goals would be satisfying.”

Mick Foley Talks About Daniel Bryan’s Popularity

    13

WWE Legend Mick Foley was recently interviewed by Doug Nunnally for RVAmag.com to promote his April 10th comedy show at the Richmond Funny Bone in Virginia. Here are some highlights of what Foley said about:

WWE’s Booking Of Daniel Bryan: “You know what, this is the truth. I’m not pandering to Virginia right now. Not that I’m above it, but I’m not right now. I was helping my son with his Civil War homework. Luckily, unlike almost everything else my kids study in school, I do know a lot about the Civil War. When Robert E. Lee’s name came up, I said that one of the things that made him a great general was that when he signed the treaty at Appomattox Court House, he knew that the gig was up. He knew when to surrender. Literally, that night, I thought I should be like Robert E. Lee, because to fight this thing would just drag myself and the people who like me down. I’ve decided instead to look all of the positives that WWE has to offer instead of being this voice crying out in the darkness about the way I think things should be run. Besides, there’s a good chance they’ll turn it around. If they do and WrestleMania ends in 75,000 people on their feet chanting “Yes! Yes!”, I’ll be the first one to admit I was wrong.”

If Daniel Byran Is More Over Than He Ever Was: “Thank you, I will admit to that, but I was never the guy. The being really in big capital letters. He is THE guy. People are showing up specifically to cheer him on and follow him on this journey. My title victory over The Rock was importantly historically because of the number of people who switched channels to WWE from WCW during what we called The Monday Night Wars. But I was always like the third or fourth guy. I had a lot of layers to the characters and put a lot of myself into those characters so that people could make an emotional connection. I’m beyond flattered and thankful that people still remember me so fondly fourteen years after I stopped wrestling full-time, but I was never as popular at any given point or time as Daniel is right now and I will stand by that completely.”

Randy Orton Hits Big Career Milestone, Foley No Longer Under Contract To WWE

    – At Saturday night’s Los Angeles Kings vs. Carolina Hurricanes game, the Staples Center promoted that SummerSlam tickets go on sale March 15th.

Vince Makes Forbes Billionaire List, Surprises On RAW, Main Event Airing Live

    – Forbes Magazine has released the 2014 Billionaires List. For the first time ever, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is listed as one of the “notable newcomers” with an estimated $1.2 billion in personal wealth.

    – The WWE Studios film Legendary starring John Cena has been added back to Netflix streaming on demand.

    – WWE Main Event will air live for the first time ever this Tuesday (3/4) on the WWE Network. The show will broadcast at 7 PM (Eastern) and will later air on it’s usual time slot on the Ion Network on Wednesday.

    – Zeb Colter is teasing some surprises for tonight’s WWE RAW:

WWE legend The Undertaker has reportedly been added to Monday’s WWE RAW, which emanates from All State Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
