Fitness Model Christina Vargas Granted Contract Release From WWE

4

Christina Vargas, a 29-year-old fitness model who signed a developmental contract with WWE in the spring, revealed on her Twitter account that she has parted ways with the sports-entertainment organization after requesting her release—she did not appear on television nor a single live event.

After recovering from vocal cord surgery, the Las Vegas, Nevada-based performer moved to Orlando, Florida, late last month to begin training at the WWE Performance Center. However, she soon came to the conclusion that she would rather pursue her passions in life: fitness and cooking.

She wrote on Instagram on Saturday, “I would like to thank the WWE for the wonderful opportunity that they had given me. I truly respect the sport, the athletes, and the staff for all the hard work and efforts they put in. While experiencing this new venture I realized my true passions were with cooking and fitness. Sometimes in life you need to do something you have never done to realize what is truly meant for you. I do not regret any part of this experience for I met life long friends and learned a lot about myself and what truly makes me happy. I still am a very big fan of the WWE & NXT. I want to thank all of the fans who supported me in my decisions and who keep supporting me in my future journey.”

When asked by Twitter user why she went attempted professional wrestling in the first place, Vargas wrote, “I’m an athlete. Thought I could of done both. I do love the wrestling part I just realized what meant more to me after.”

WWE House Show Results (9/20): Lexington, Kentucky

10

The following are results from the WWE live event in Lexington, Kentucky. The event was held on Friday, September 20, 2013.

-Zack Ryder defeated Damien Sandow via Pinfall. Good opener, crowd popped huge for Ryder. Sandow got a good bit of heat after playing up to the crowd a bit. A lot of fans seemed surprised that Ryder managed to gain the victory over Sandow.

-The Funkadactyls defeated AJ Lee and Layla via Pinfall. This was what it was, Divas tag-team action. Pretty much what you would expect. Cameron and Naomi managed to score the pin to secure the victory in this one.

-Sami Zayn defeated Jack Swagger via Pinfall. A pretty damn good match here from these two. A lot of “Ole'” chants for the former El Generico, who much like the opener, many seemed surprised to get the victory.

-The Wyatt Family defeated The Usos & Kofi Kingston via Pinfall. All three members of The Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper worked in this one, as it was a six-man tag match. The Wyatt Family was super over with the crowd, and their entrance is pretty cool in person.

-Rob Van Dam defeated Alberto Del Rio via Disqualification. Huge pop for Van Dam from the fans in attendance in Lexington. Del Rio was DQ’d so he lost, but retained his World Heavyweight Championship. Afterwards, Damien Sandow teased cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase, but ultimately opted against it.

-Ryback defeated Santino Marella via Pinfall. This amounted to what was basically a squash match victory for Ryback. He dominated most of the offense and then picked up the pinfall.

-CM Punk defeated Curtis Axel via Pinfall in a Non-Title match. The WWE Intercontinental Championship was not on the line here, so no one was surprised to see Punk go over clean in this one. Definitely a really good match from these two, with fans popping super-loud for almost anything Punk did the entire match.

-Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton via Pinfall. Another really good match, and a great closing contest for what was a pretty damn good show. Along with Punk, Bryan probably received the loudest ovation of the evening. There were obviously a lot of “Yes!” and “No!” chants from the Kentucky fans during certain spots of the match. In the end, Bryan picked up the pinfall to defeat Orton and send the fans home happy.

Booker T Speaks On Interest In Returning To The Ring, Working Royal Rumble & More

8

The following are highlights from a recent interview with WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T:

On whether or not he has interest in a return to the ring: “I wouldn’t call it a comeback (laughs). I’m semi-retired and to work around these schedules that the younger wrestlers and the divas (applies to the female talent, whether as wrestlers, managers or ring announcers) is rough. It’s a young man’s sport. I don’t want to be one of those wrestlers who still holds on to the past, hearing all the roars from the crowd. Royal Rumble is cool, I can do it once a year but to do it every day or week is tough. It’s time for me to step aside.”

On what he misses most now that he’s “semi-retired”: “I don’t miss wrestling, but I miss performing. You know, going out and amazing everybody and feeling that adrenaline rush. I performed in front of soldiers in Iraq in 2003 and the temperature was 40°C. And when you strap on your gear and with the adrenaline pumping, it feel more like 80°C. I’ll miss that. If it’s not for the exhausting travels, I could do wrestling for another 10 more years (laughs).”

More Details On Jim Ross Retiring From WWE

2

According to sources, there were actually rumors of Jim Ross being let go by WWE a few days before it actually took place. On September 10th, the day prior to JR’s release, someone in the WWE book department called an author to inform him that WWE had selected him to write JR’s autobiography.

One source claimed it was odd for WWE to even publicize JR’s retirement due to the fact that most casual viewers never see him on television anyways, and would already assume he had retired.

It was also noted by executives in the company that JR’s release would have never happened as recently as a few years ago, and it’s further proof that Vince McMahon is not worried in the slightest about TNA, in terms of competition.

Regarding JR’s role as the man who worked directly with talents in the WWE NXT developmental system, early speculation is that William Regal will likely take over those duties.

Bryan vs. Orton Battleground Stipulation, Rodriguez To Manage Mysterio?

11

-Recent plans have WWE talent Ricardo Rodriguez continuing to manage Rob Van Dam until RVD takes some scheduled time off from WWE in October. Once Van Dam is on hiatus, it is possible that Rodriguez may be put with the returning Rey Mysterio as his “personal ring announcer.”

-Expect stipulations to be added to the Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton and Rob Van Dam vs. Alberto Del Rio rematches scheduled for the upcoming WWE Battleground pay-per-view.

According to one report, there is discussion of the Bryan-Orton pay-per-view rematch being contested under “Iron Man” match rules. This would allow WWE to book the match in a way where it leads to another inconclusive finish, which could lead to the final showdown in a cell at the WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

Former WWE Diva Attempts To Fake-Out The Media With Fake Mugging Story

11

WWE Hall Of Famer and former WWE Diva Tammy “Sunny” Sytch recently attempted to set up “dirt sheet” writers and pro wrestling websites by posting a fake story on her official Facebook account about being mugged recently.

SESCOOPS.COM became aware of the attempted fake-out, so we skipped the story. Sytch recently gloated, however, about those who did bite, writing the following status on her Facebook account today:

“Soooooo my plan worked!! Every time I put a status on facebook, every wrestling website writer copies it and posts it as their status!! WELL, I guess I got the best of them this time! For the past two days Ive been making up the craziest crap, just to see if they post it as factual news, without checking the facts first!! And yep! They did! Isnt it sad that these “journalists” have no real skills for actual reporting other than copying bogus social media status updates!! Reminds me of a couple years ago, when I said “one of the TNA knockouts was expecting”..remember that??? Yep, I made that one up too to see if they’d run with it… So FANS, Im sorry i had to include you all on this charade, but I DIDNT get mugged, NOR am I adopting a child from Cambodia. And WRITERS, maybe you’ll think twice before you copy my statuses again…it just makes you look gullible and STUPID that you jump on things BELIEVING you have the newest BIG SCOOP, when in actuality, you have nonsense that just makes you look pathetic…… SOOO, stop whacking off, get out of Mommy’s basement, and get a REAL JOB!!! AND FOR ONCE, GIVE US PERFORMERS OUR PRIVACY!!!! HAHAHAHAAH! Ohhhh that was fun!”

It should be noted that Sytch complained that people picked up a previous status about “what she looks for in a boyfriend,” but did not pick up on her mugging status. Once people did pick up the mugging post, after complaining that no one would, she posted the aforementioned status bragging about how she “got them.”

Former WWE Superstar Talks Wanting To Accomplish More In WWE, HBK & More

3

SESCOOPS.COM reader Phil Johnson sent along the following:

Former WWE Superstar Antonio “The Promise” Thomas recently took some time to take part in a Q&A exclusively with PWMania.com. Thomas spoke on a number of topics from his time in WWE and still wanting to accomplish more with the company, wanting to wrestle Shawn Michaels, his indy career and more. Here are some highlights:

Tell us a little bit about your stint in WWE, how was that? “Being in WWE was a dream come true-you are with the best and on the biggest stage and, of course, the money isn’t bad either… I wish my time there was more than 2 years, but it gave me a chance to live my lifelong goal.”

Are you still in contact with anyone in WWE and is a return to WWE ever something you would consider if given the chance? “Yes, I am still in contact with people there. If it were right for the company and for me, I would definitely consider a return. I never wanted to leave and wanted to, and still want to, accomplish many things there.”

Is there any one wrestler that you would like to have a match with if given the opportunity? “The one wrestler I would want to work with, hands down, would be Shawn Michaels.”

Kevin Nash Goes On Twitter Rant While Watching Thursday’s Impact Wrestling

26

Former TNA Impact Wrestling performer Kevin Nash went on a Twitter rant while watching Thursday night’s edition of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV.

Nash went off on TNA for their production, the creative direction of the company and the wrestlers themselves. Below is a collection of tweets from Nash’s official Twitter account, which you can follow at @RealKevinNash.

“Big Sexy” started off by saying:

Watching TNA why would you ever cut Velvet Sky out of a shot? I didnt hear a word Chris said after see was out of frame.TNA watch 16-35 ads

A few minutes later, Nash posted this one:

So unbelievable the TNA talent aren’t told to work the non populated hard camera

A few hours passed, and the former “Diesel” was at it again, saying:

TNA is out of cash and being on the road doesn’t get to slide payments for up to 4 months to show a profit as they did at Universal.

From there, Nash taalked about some of the talent, writing:

Anderson and Mickey James are up bet you don’t see them to after the first of the year. The dudes are playing on the deck.Enjoy the music

After that, a fan asked Nash the question, “How much longer do you give TNA before they begin to lose their top stars to the WWE?” Nash replied:

@texanfan2785 WWE won’t take them they didn’t build a multi-million dollar development complex to take in TNA talent.

Nash concluded with one final tweet, saying:

TNA had it’s highest ratings when Jeff was in charge. Steady decline except for the loaded Hogan live show.
