WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently updated the Q&A section of his JRsBarBQ.com website. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Reason why WWE PPV’s air on Sunday:

“I’d assume that there is research to indicate that Sunday is the best night for WWE PPV’s plus it is and has become a tradition that I don’t see changing. Plus, it works well with the cable and satellite operators which is critical.”

Total Divas:

“I’m a big fan of Total Divas. It’s nicely done. The away from the arena content is entertaining.”

Chair Shots to the Head:

“Chair shots to the head are a thing of the past one would hope. Really stupid to execute such in today’s concussed aware society. Chairs to the back are much less destructive and damaging over the long haul.”

Wrestling Wins IOC Vote, Will Be Reinstated In 2020 Olympic Games

9

The following is an excerpt from a story on the AP wire regarding the International Olympic Committee reinstating wrestling in the olympic games:

Seven months after losing its Olympic place, wrestling was reinstated for the 2020 Games on Sunday when the IOC overturned a decision many members thought was a mistake.

The sport, which has ancient roots in the Olympics, easily defeated bids from baseball-softball and squash. It will now join the program of the 2020 Games, which were awarded to Tokyo on Saturday.

Wrestling, which was surprisingly dropped from the list of core sports in February, received 49 votes to win in the first round of secret balloting by the International Olympic Committee. Baseball-softball got 24 votes and squash 22.

The decision capped a frantic six-month campaign by the wrestling body FILA to revamp the organization and reshape the sport to save its Olympic status.

“With this vote, you have shown that the steps we have taken to improve our sport have made a difference,” FILA President Nenad Lalovic said. “I assure each of you that our modernization will not stop now. We will continue to strive to be the best partner to the Olympic movement that we can be.”

The following are highlights from a recent website Q&A from WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:

On whether or not the Internet Wrestling Community is killing the business: “Far from it. So, no.”

On whether or not WWE still views Survivor Series as one of the “Big 4” PPVs: “I can only speak for myself but I’d say yes. Having 12 PPV’s makes it challenging for all of them to be special.”

SHOCKER On 2 NEW Surprise Entrants In 2014 Royal Rumble Match

More Evidence WWE Is Working On A Physical Hall Of Fame Building In Orlando

23

BestofOrlando.com reports that a physical WWE Hall of Fame building (as well as a new WWE-themed restaurant) could be coming to the Universal CityWalk complex in Orlando, Florida.

The Universal Studios theme park recently filed for several demolition permits in an effort to renovate several of the existing CityWalk properties. NBA City in particular is rumored to be shut down and renovated to make way for a physical WWE Hall of Fame building and WWE restaurant.

In recent months, WWE has downplayed the idea that there are plans in place to bring a WWE Hall of Fame building to Orlando. However, construction is already underway on some of the CityWalk venues, so it’s only a matter of time before we find out what new establishments will be opening.

With Orlando, Florida being the home of the new WWE Performance Center and Orlando pushing to host another WrestleMania event in the coming years and the tremendous amount of tourist traffic at Universal CityWalk, it will be interesting to see if this pans out.
