6

WWE NXT Taping
Full Sail, Orlando Florida
March 21, 2013

Credit to reader Andres Santiago for this live report:

Dark Match:

– Briley Pierce vs Rami Sebei. Sebei won with a running boot Pierce in the corner.

TV Taping

Tony Dawson, Kassius Ohno and Brad Maddox were the announce team when the tapings began.

– Bo Dallas & Adrian Neville vs The Wyatt Family w/ Bray Wyatt. Dallas & Neville won with a Belly to Belly Slam by Dallas on Harper. Wyatt cut one of his rambling promos as they came to the ring.

– William Regal attacked Kassius Ohno at the announce booth.

– Summer Rae & Audrey Marie vs Sasha Banks & Paige. Banks & Paige won with a Paige Turner on Marie. Rae ran to the back to avoid wrestling Paige and that led to the finish.

– NXT Championship Match: Big E Langston vs Conor O’Brian. Langston won with The Big Ending. Typical post match antics by Langston.

– They showed a Harlem Shake spoof with multiple Emmas. All of them were wearing bad cosplay outfits.

– Percy Watson, Axl Keegan & Scott Dawson vs The Shield. The Shield won with a Skywalker by Rollins on Keegan. After the match, The Shield beatdown Dawson and cut a promo about how they are the most destructive force in WWE history. Graves appeared on screen and challenged them to a match next week, due to them costing him the title two times. Rollins accepted and told the others to take the night off next week.

– Naomi & Cameron vs The Bella Twins. The Bella Twins won with a double team on Cameron. The move had each Bella holding one of Cameron’s legs and rolling forward like a jacknife pin, which caused Cameron to slam down as if she was powerbombed.

– Kassius Ohno vs William Regal. Regal won with a Knee Trembler.

The next portion of the taping was called “NXT Clash of the Champions” due to all of the matches being title bouts.

United States Championship match: Antonio Cesaro vs Adrian Neville. Cesaro won with a Neutralizer. Neville was going for the Corkscrew SSP but got crotched, uppercutted and hit with the Neutralizer.

WWE Divas Championship: Kaitlyn vs AJ Lee. Kaitlyn won with a spear. AJ looked like she was drilled pretty hard with it.

NXT Championship match: Big E Langston vs Brad Maddox. Langston won with The Big Ending. Typical post match antics by Langston again.

WWE Intercontinental Championship match: Wade Barrett vs Bo Dallas. Barrett won when he caught Dallas with the Bull Hammer in mid-air; Dallas was attempting a diving move from the top rope.

<!––nextpage––>

Next set of tapings …

– Justin Gabriel vs Leo Kruger. Kruger won with Nigel McGuiness’s old London Dungeon submission.

– Bailey vs Emma. Emma won with a slightshot floated over into a Muta Lock. While bridging back on the Muta Lock she did her dance.

– Bray Wyatt w/ The Wyatt Family vs Yoshi Tatsu. Wyatt won with a Swinging Flatliner. After the match, Wyatt beat down Tatsu and then cut a promo about how the Wyatt Family rule NXT and how no one in the back is better than him.

Lumberjack Match: Corey Graves vs Seth Rollins. Rollins won with the Skywalker. At the end of the match, The Shield ran out from the crowd and destroyed all of the lumberjacks. Rollins was able to hit his finisher after Ambrose clotheslined Graves behind the ref’s back.

Triple Threat Tag Team Elimination Tag Match: Primo & Epico vs The Wyatt Family vs Bo Dallas & Adrian Neville. Neville eliminated Primo & Epico with a Corkscrew Shooting Star Press on Primo. Harper eliminated Dallas & Neville immediately after when he nailed Neville with a Tornado Clothesline.

– Paige vs Summer Rae. Rae attacked Paige on the way to the ring. Paige won with the Paige Turner.

– Chris Jericho vs Bray Wyatt. Jericho won with the Walls of Jericho.

Notes

– John Cena will be wrestling on May 2 at the next taping.

– I have no idea how many episodes were taped tonight. There are 6 weeks before the next taping and it felt like there were 4 or 5 shows worth of matches filmed. I believe the first episode ended with the Langston-O’Brian match and the second with the Ohno-Regal match. The “NXT Clash of the Champions” is likely going to be a special episode too. After that, I have no idea if we had 1 or 2 more episodes worth of matches taped.

– Ohno and Regal had a fantastic match that is well worth going out of your way to see. Neville and Cesaro’s match was great as well.

– After Regal’s match with Ohno he joined the commentary team.

– Bailey has Kristal Marshal’s old theme song.

– Rami Sebei is El Generico unmasked.

More On The Changes To WWE’s Creative Team & Paul Heyman’s Role

13

As noted earlier, former WWE creative team member Court Bauer revealed on Twitter that David Kreizman, who started with WWE several months ago, is now a WWE head writer.

Kreizman is a former soap opera writer (“All My Children”) and has won several Daytime Emmy Awards. Kreizman fills the void left by Eric Pankowski, who left the company earlier this month.

WWE is looking to hire more former soap opera writers, according to PWInsider.com.

Former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz, who writes most of The Rock’s material, has also been stepping up on the creative side. There is still no real push for Paul Heyman to join the creative team, although he does work with various wrestlers who seek his advice.

Steve Austin’s Status For WM29 Weekend, More On HHH-Lesnar Stiuplation, Deeb

40

– On Monday’s RAW, Paul Heyman revealed that Triple H’s match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29 will be a No Holds Barred match, with Triple H’s career on the line. Dave Meltzer reports that the stipulation was finalized just days before RAW, and other ideas for the match included Hell In A Cell, or Shawn Michaels and Paul Heyman in Triple H and Brock Lesnar’s corners.

– Former WWE Diva Serena Deeb will be making her return to the ring in May after an 18-month hiatus due to injury. She’ll be wrestling former WWE Diva Shelly Martinez at Pro Wrestling Syndicate’s Bombshell Ladies of Wrestling event on May 11th from Metuchen, New Jersey.

– “Stone Cold Steve” Austin tweeted on Thursday that he will not be taking part in WrestleMania 29 weekend:

WrestleMania 29 Price Increase & Details On Why It Certain To Be A Very Profitable Show For WWE

28

Earlier this week, DirecTV announced that WrestleMania will be seeing a price increase this year, with the HD feed selling for $69.99 and the SD version going for $59.99. Both are $5 increases from last year. The cost of ordering the show is certainly high, but it’s on par with the price of a Floyd Meathweather PPV boxing fight, so WWE is not overly concerned that it will hurt the number of buys.

Based on annual trends of repeat viewership numbers and the continued trend of viewers shifting to the HD broadcasts, it’s projected that WWE will see an additional $900,000 profit for WrestleMania 29 from the price increase alone. Even if WrestleMania does not draw as many buys as last year, it could still shatter the company’s all-time pay-per-view revenue records.

With a sellout crowd at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, WrestleMania 29 is poised to be the second-largest WrestleMania crowd in WWE history (behind WrestleMania 3 at the Pontiac Silverdome) and has already grossed over $11 million for the company.

Triple H Making More Big Changes To WWE Developmental

57

Triple H is making more big changes to WWE’s developmental system that could have a profound impact on WWE’s next generation of Superstars. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Triple H has pushed for the elimination of lengthy scripts for promos – and for the wrestlers to given general bullet points instead.

Some of the best talkers in wrestling history have gone on record stating that many of today’s Superstars never properly learn the art of cutting promos because they are so heavily scripted by WWE’s writing team. Working off bullet points will allow the wrestlers to show more of their personalities and require them to improvise a lot more. The idea is that the change will lead to characters being more authentic and not all sounding the same.

This is a much more “old school” approach – something Triple H is known for, compared to his father-in-law Vince.

Sin Cara Injured Again, Bruno Sammartino Note, Tyson Kidd’s Recovery

43

– Sin Cara recently suffered a concussion, which likely took place during his match against Jack Swagger on RAW (3/11). He was evaluated on 3/18 and underwent Impact concussion testing. He missed last weekend’s WWE live events and didn’t work Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings.

– With Monday’s RAW having taken place from Pittsburgh, PA, many people expected Bruno Sammartino to appear on the show, since Pittsburgh is his where he lives. WWE decided against Sammartino even appearing backstage because they want his big return to take place at WrestleMania weekend.

– Tyson Kidd continues to train for his in-ring return and noted on Twitter that he’s been doing jumping exercises at physical therapy. He wrote:

Jimmy Uso’s Attorney Issues Statement Regarding His Recent Arrest

9

Jonathon “Jimmy Uso” Fatu’s attorney, Keith M. Goan, sent in the following statement regarding Uso’s arrest last week. Goan says the arrest was for driving on a suspended license while on probation – and not for a second a DUI:

“Please accept this correspondence as a notice of correction as it relates to the recent arrest of Jonathon Fatu. As many of you have reported Mr. Fatu was charged with a DUI in 2012. He plead No Contest to said charge and was placed on probation. He completed the terms and conditions of his probation as directed by the Court. While waiting for the termination of said probation to take effect, he was erroneously cited for driving on a suspended license and an affidavit of violation of probation was filed.”

“This most recent ‘arrest’ derived from Mr. Fatu turning himself in to the Hillsborough County Jail allowing for the warrant to be set aside. This arrest was not a second DUI as is being falsely reported. We are extremely confident that once we get on the Court’s docket, Mr. Fatu’s probation will be terminated and the citation for driving on a suspended license will be dismissed.”

WWE Network Subscription Price & WWE Ending PPV Events ?

26

WWE CFO George Barrios spoke to 4-Traders.com today and revealed some new details on the WWE Network. Notably, the subscription will run $12.99-14.99 per month, the break-even point for WWE is around 1 million subscribers and the company will eventually phase out pay-per-view events entirely. Here’s the full transcript of what Barrios said about:

Where WWE’s Future Growth Will Come From:

“Well, over the last few years our core business has been performing well. We generate $75 million to $95 million of EBITDA. Those EBITDA margins have been 16% to 19% so the core business performed well. We have invested a lot in the last couple of years to take advantage some of that growth that we see. And the big strategic thesis for us is the value of content. There is more and more distribution alternatives available. Netflix is one everyone talks about. YouTube not being part of just social video but now real original content. So there’s more and more distribution alternatives and it’s on a global basis. As a content creator and owner, which makes us unique, we own 100% of the rights of our content. We license them out, we’ll license windows but we own it all. And that’s a unique position to be in. We think the rising distribution opportunity is driving up the valley of content. In fact, you look at what HBO does to produce Game of Thrones, right? You’re talking $10 million to $20 million an episode for 13 hours, right. So now you’re in the $150 million to $200 million. That’s incredible value. Raw and SmackDown are two franchised programs, average more viewers than any cable network average of prime time. So USA is a number one cable network in the US. It averages about 3 million viewers a week in prime time. Raw and SmackDown, our two top programs, averages more than that. We create a lot of value with the content. That’s going to be a big driver for growth.”

How WWE Will Monetize The Network & The Break-Even Point:

“Sure. So on the first part, continuing on with our core products, we’re going to keep them fully distributed. We think that’s a great platform for a network. And we think there’s a lot of value as those shows come up for renewal. Our four biggest contracts will be renewed over the next three years. We think that’s a great opportunity for us because of the value we deliver. Then to the network, we said we’re going to take our pay-per-views. We’re one of the preeminent pay-per-view providers today and our pay-per-views are priced anywhere between $49.95 and $59.95 today and we’re going to make that the core of a value proposition with a lot of other new content and put it on a premium network so that our fans can subscribe. We said the price will be somewhere between $12.99 or $14.99, to be determined as we go to market but we think that’s a real great opportunity. And to your question about breakeven, about a million subscribers because the pay-per-view buyers will migrate over to the network. That’s our belief. About a million subscribers, we breakeven at 2 million, it’s a really good business; at 3 million to 4 million, for us it’s transformative.”

Will WWE’s Pay-Per-View Business Eventually Go Away?

“We believe over time. We believe the value proposition will be much more powerful to subscribe to a network at $12.99 to $14.99, 24/7, you have the pay-per-views, a lot of great content, our library, a lot of retrospective programming that we’re doing that’s testing really, really well, we’re producing it right now so over time, I think the pay-per-view does go away.”

Demolition Talks About Their Legendary Run, Today’s Tag Teams, Working WrestleMania

4

Kayfabe Wrestling Radio  Hosted by Alan Wojcik
Listen Live on Tuesday Nights 9pm ET on Wildtalkradio.com

  • Listen Here: Demolition On Kayfabe Wrestling Radio (.MP3)

Former WWF Tag Team Champions Ax (Bill Eadie) and Smash (Barry Darsow), better known as ‘Demolition’ joined Kayfabe Wrestling Radio Tuesday Night. In a nearly 30 minute interview, they discussed how the two were paired up as Demolition, making the switch of managers from Johnny Valiant to Mr. Fuji, if the face paint was cumbersome at all, being cohesive as a tag team and the tag teams of today, main-eventing events at Madison Square Garden and singles matches vs tag matches, the lengthy tag title run, who they enjoyed facing most, what it’s like working WrestleMania and if it was ever just another show for them, the old style travel schedule for wrestlers and much more.

Did the Two of Them Meet Prior to Being In WWE:

Ax: “Yeah, of course we’d heard of each other and we respected each other’s work, that’s how come we got together. We had the opportunity to form a tag team and I just basically jumped at the chance. I went up to Charlotte, had a nice lunch, went over a couple of things and from then on the rest is history.”

Smash: “Yeah, when I was down with Crockett, I got the phone call from Vince McMahon and he asked me if I wanted to be partners with Bill Eadie and of course I jumped at the chance, because ‘The Masked Superstar’ that was like the biggest thing in professional wrestling at the time and if I could get together with him, that going to help my career and teach me a lot about wrestling and that’s what happened. So, it was a great move for me, to partner up with Ax and become Demolition.”

Why Smash Was Added to Demolition After Randy Colley Left:

Ax: “Well, Randy was a friend of our and still is. Randy was identifiable because he had been there with the Moondogs; one of their Tag Team Champions and I think that;, at least I thought at the time, you have to have a new identity. Of course they didn’t have a reference for me because I had the mask and Barry hadn’t been in (the WWF) at the time; I just didn’t feel it was going to be successful and at that point, I was welcome to go back to Japan and continue wrestling as the Masked Superstar. Vince had approached me and said ‘No, I think this is going to be a good character for you. I think you need to get a new partner.’ And that’s how we got to meeting, Barry and I, and right away I’d heard of his reputation; he’s a hard worker and honest guy, and it just took off. We had good chemistry from day one.”

Smash: “Yeah, what I think worked out good for me was being down in the South; everybody and the fans of the WWF at the time, really didn’t know who I was because Jim Crockett Promotions and the NWA, the fans for that organization, watched all the guys in the South, but they didn’t watch the WWF and the WWF fans didn’t watch people from the South. So, they really didn’t know me when I came in, so it worked out pretty good. So we were two new guys in the wrestling business for the fans.”

The Decision to Change Managers from Luscious Johnny V to Mr. Fuji:

Ax: “Yeah, that was our decision. We had nothing against Valiant, but Valiant has a comical side to him and with our characters we didn’t feel we needed any comedy. We just wanted to go out and kick people’s rear end and smash their teeth in, as Smash used to say, and kick their stinking door down and we didn’t need anything to sidetrack that. Fuji was a very vicious, hated professional and he was managing at that time, he was managing some top talent, some vicious talent and it just meshed with our character. Now, if we had been like the Valiants, or like the Bushwhackers, somebody of that type; good talent, but Valiant didn’t match our persona. ”

Smash: “I was kinda hard when we were doing our interviews and you’d be so serious about beating people up and everything and then, all of a sudden, there’d be a joke after it or something, you know? It was just kind of a buzzkill a little bit. But he was a great guy.”

Ax: “Like Smash said, Valiant was coming out of left field with comments about our interview and it would just simply sidetrack the whole interview. Fuji let us set the meter of the matches. He give us advice but wouldn’t interfere. He was there for technical help, he was there for advice, but he didn’t get involved too much in our interviews and neither Barry nor myself, you can tell from this interview, we don’t have any qualms about talking.”

How Long it Took To Be Cohesive As A Tag Team & Today’s Teams:

Smash: “It was pretty much of a natural click, I think, because we’d both been in the business for so long and we just kind of… neither of us wanted to be better than the other one; we just wanted to both be good. So, it just worked out great to where we both got to be really good partners.”

Ax: “I think the success of any team is actually the team. You’ve got situations now, and I constantly get asked by fans, ‘What is the major difference?’ The major difference that I see is you’ve got two people that are thrown together now to form a tag team because there’s nothing else for them to do or they can’t figure out what to do. Years ago, and you can testify because you mentioned all the names, tag teams drove the company; tag teams drove the business. And to be successful, you have to be reliant, dependable, honest with your partner and you have to be a team. You know, Smash and I spent more time together than we did with our families, so you have to like each other; you have to be consistent and honest and giving, congenial and that makes a team. We didn’t have to think about what we were going to do. We’d observe something in the match; I’d pick up a move that he would do or he’d pick up a move I’d do; we knew what we would do right after the other.”

Smash: “And the biggest thing, there was no egos there. Where nowadays, there are two guys in the ring and they’ve both got egos they want to make sure that they’re the best out of the two of them and so they’re fighting with each other; not real partners.”

If They Still Got Nervous Working WrestleMania:

Ax: “I think if you were a real professional, you had butterflies. We discussed it, we have butterflies against some of the smaller crowds, and they’re not because of fear. You know, if you don’t get nervous, and you don’t get a little antsy before your event, then it should be time for you to get out. The nervousness comes because you want to do the best performance and have your best match. And we used to step in the ring, it didn’t matter if there were 100,000 or 5,000 or 2,000; those people still paid their money, but the money was already spent there in the seats and we want to make sure we have our best match that night; the next night we want to have our best match and the next night we want to have out best match. I think Smash will say the same thing, the larger the crowd, the easier the reaction was; you know, the crowd worked for you, versus against you. So, they would be more receptive.”

Smash: “Yeah, exactly. Every time you go to the ring, you’ve got the nerves and everything and it made your perform a lot better. Of course, the fans don’t think you’re nervous, but you’re nervous because you want to perform the best and have the best match you ever can. So, like Bill was saying, you’re nervous the same in front of 500 people as you were 100,000 people.”

Chris Masters Saves His Mother From A Burning House

37

Former WWE superstar Chris Masters saved his mother’s life last night, rescuing her from a burning house.

Masters says he rushed to his mother’s home in Los Angeles after his uncle called him saying that her neighbor went crazy and barricaded himself inside her house. When he arrived, he tried talking to the guy, who said he would burn the house to the ground if anybody entered. Masters called the police, but when they showed up, the man set the house on fire.

Masters ripped a small tree out of the ground and broke one of the windows in the house with it. He was able to reach through the window and take his mother out of the house. Police then got involved an arrested the crazy neighbor on arson charges. Masters tweeted this picture of the aftermath:

WWE WrestleMania 29 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania 29 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania 29 is less than three weeks away and the card is finally starting to take shape. Despite the fact that several of the top matches are rematches, the big stage of WrestleMania (including the 70,000+ fans who will jam pack the MetLife Stadium) will ensure this is a show to remember. This is the official SEScoops thread for WrestleMania 29 Predictions – we’ll list our predictions below and we want to hear your own predictions in the comments section. Without further ado, let’s get started with our WrestleMania 29 Predictions:

WWE Champion The Rock vs. John Cena

It’s the rematch of the century – the “Twice in a Lifetime” bout that not everybody wanted to see, but was inevitable due to the tremendous box office success of their first encounter. Since his loss to The Rock last April, John Cena’s career went into a tailspin. Even though he had a victory win over the returning Brock Lesnar at Elimination Chamber, he suffered several high-profile losses and went through a messy divorce. Cena promised that 2013 would be his year – and at the Royal Rumble, he started off on a great note, winning the annual 30-man battle royal and securing his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 29. On that same fateful night, The Rock defeated WWE Champion CM Punk to end his historic 434-day title run and set the wheels in motion for the WrestleMania rematch most of us saw coming a mile away. It’s John Cena’s Redemption vs. The Rock’s Legacy – and our money is on John Cena. The Rock had his moment in the sun last year in front of his hometown crowd of Miami. He fulfilled his destiny by recapturing the WWE Championship one more time. He says he’s back for the fans, some would argue The Rock is back to make big money working a light schedule – but in reality, The Rock is back to shine up WWE’s most valuable full-time asset – and that’s John Cena.

  • Prediction: John Cena defeats The Rock to capture the WWE Championship

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk

The Undertaker looks to extend his legendary streak to 21-0. After a lengthy WWE title reign, CM Punk looks to solidify his place in wrestling history by being the first man to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Prior to the tragic passing of Paul Bearer, CM Punk would have done a tremendous job convincing the WWE Universe that he actually had a chance to break the streak. Now that Paul Bearer’s death has been incorporated into the feud and CM Punk is disrespecting Bearer’s memory by taunting the Undertaker’s with the urn – it’s quite apparent that The Undertaker will get his revenge on Punk at Wrestlemania. Expect drama – expect plenty of near falls – expect CM Punk to come “this close” to getting the win. But in the end – they all fall victim to the dark side.

  • Prediction: The Undertaker extends his streak to 21-0

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger

Since capturing the World Heavyweight championship from Big Show earlier this year, he’s gotten over well as WWE’s much-needed Mexican hero babyface. Enter right-wing extremists Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter – the perfect foils for Del Rio. A month ago – “We The People” began taking off, WWE was getting mainstream media attention for their new “Tea Party” characters it looked like Swagger had at least a 50/50 shot at winning his second World Heavyweight title. Then Swagger got arrested for drug posession and DUI. Speculation swirled that WWE would suspend Swagger, remove him from the match or let him go entirely. None of that happened – and they’ve stuck to their guns, building towards the Mexican Hero vs. Mexican Hater showdown. While there’s probably more money in Del Rio chasing Swagger for the title, it’s hard to imagine WWE putting the World Heavyweight title on Swagger right after his arrest. Here’s what we think (and are praying for) – Swagger wins and “I’m Here To Show The World” hits. The place erupts, Dolph Ziggler cashes in his Money in the Bank contract, defeats Jack Swagger for the title in a quick match, effectively turning babyface.

  • Prediction: Jack Swagger wins the World Heavyweight title
  • Prediction#2: Dolph Ziggler cashes in Money in the Bank wins the World Heavyweight title

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred, Triple H’s Career On The Line)

Another big rematch at the top of the WrestleMania card. These two met at last year’s SummerSlam – with Lesnar going over in dominant fashion, “breaking” Triple H’s arm in the process. The Game is back – putting his career on the line in his return match. The No Holds Barred stipulation means this one is going to get messy – with lots of weapons and possible run-ins. The match will resemble a fight more so than a wrestling match – which favors the former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar just signed a 2-year contract extension, doesn’t need the win here – and you know Triple H would love one more epic win on the WrestleMania stage. However, we’re looking ahead to WrestleMania 30, when WWE will want to pull out all the stops. Triple H is still a draw and it makes sense that he’d want to wrestle next year as well. For that reason – we’re going with The Game.

  • Prediction: Triple H

Team Hell No vs. Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston

This match was thrown together at the last minute, but at least the tag team titles are being defended at WrestleMania. We know what this one will entail – solid wrestling & some comedy from the champions, crazy bumps from Dolph Ziggler, power moves from Big E and a whole lot of hotness (and probably some interference) from AJ Lee. In the end – Daniel Bryan gets paid back for last year’s embarrassing 8-second World Heavyweight title lost by getting a WrestleMania win.

  • Prediction: Team Hell No retains the Tag Team Titles

Ryback vs. Mark Henry

The battle of the monsters. This one’s been rumored for quite some time – and it’s going to be a total slugfest. Mark Henry is great in his role and could be Ryback’s toughest opponent to date. In the end, Ryback gets his big “WrestleMania moment” by hoisting Mark Henry on his back and delivering Shell Shocked for the win.

  • Prediction: Ryback wins.

The Shield vs. Randy Orton, Big Show & Sheamus

Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns have been one of the best parts of WWE television since their debut at last year’s Survivor Series. They’ve proven themselves to be very strong in the ring and on the mic – and work together tremendously as a 3-man unit. Orton, Big Show and Sheamus have a lot of star power, but not a lot of direction with their characters and limited experience working together. The Shield soundly defeated the team of John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus at Elimination Chamber, and we can’t think of a good reason why the weaker team of Orton, Big Show and Sheamus will be able to get the job done.

  • Prediction: The Shield wins
  • Prediction #2: Randy Orton turns heel during or after the match

And there we have it. We’ll update this thread with more predictions in the event that new matches are added to the card. Now, it’s your turn. Hit up the comments below and tell us what you think will go down at WWE WrestleMania 29 on Sunday, April 7th.

CM Punk Taking Time Off After WrestleMania, Update On His Current Injury

38

CM Punk will be getting some time off after WrestleMania 29. The former WWE Champion has been dealing with several nagging injuries in recent months, but has downplayed the extent of how banged up he is. Punk’s latest injury took place on last week’s RAW during his no DQ match with Kane. There are conflicting reports as to whether it was his arm or his hip or his knee.

Punk was originally scheduled to wrestle at last week’s WWE live events, but did not compete. He’s also been pulled from all upcoming WWE live events through WrestleMania 29, so he can rest up and be healthy for his match against The Undertaker.

Punk most likely will not be working most live events immediately after WrestleMania, but is still scheduled for all RAW TV shows and is still advertised for WWE’s European tour the week after WrestleMania. The feeling in WWE is that Punk has been giving 110% to the company during a time when they needed him (especially during his title reign) and has earned the time off.
