Ultimate Warrior Talks About His Admiration For Vince McMahon

33

WWE.com has published Part 1 of their exclusive interview with the Ultimate Warrior. Here are some highlights of what Warrior said about:

Getting his start with WWE: “I was in WCCW in Texas and the first time I worked for them, this is a story that you don’t even hear no more, while I was working down there Vince had done his first Wrestlemania. He had a guy working for him at the time named George Scott and he was on his way to Florida. He was a friend of Fritz Von Erich, who owned the promotion WCCW and Fritz asked him to come down and take over the book for a while. He came in and started doing that and then an old time wrestler, Bronko Lubich, pulled me aside and said I heard George got on the phone today and he was talking to somebody from New York and he was talking about somebody down here that’s got this talent. It’s raw, but you know. He said don’t you tell anybody cause I’ll deny it.

“The next thing I know I got a call from Vince and Pat Patterson asking me what the Dingo Warrior was. And then they were doing a show in Tyler, Texas and they had Koko B. Ware and Randy [Savage] and Junkyard Dog. So I go down there and they say you want to come down and perform? So I go down there and people went crazy. They asked me if I wanted to go on the road for a while. I packed my bag and went on the road for like 46 days and didn’t go home. I knew what they were doing; they were trying to burn me out. And I just hung in there, kept my nose clean and stuff. They kept me off Television, I did the Dingo Warrior thing. Eight or nine months later they put my on TV for the first time and it just took off from there.”

His admiration for Vince McMahon: “Vince is intense, man. He goes around the clock and I was the same way. Some of the people that knew both of us said that the problem was they were too much like each other. That’s why WWE has succeeded, because Vince shows up and he works everyday. Most people don’t get that, that’s the secret to being successful like that. And he does and I admired that. I still do, even after all the years of fighting with him. I respect him more than anybody else.”

Tammy Sytch Explains Why She Never Liked Sable

40

WWE Hall of Famer Sunny recently spoke to Hater Nation and explained why she and former WWE Diva Sable (Rena Lesnar) never got along:

“Basically with her, a lot of people think I had a professional jealously, or that’s what the heat was about, but that completely was not the case. She had her character and her role. I had my character and my role. They were completely different. I was like the all American girl next door that you wanted to bring home to mom and marry. She was like that racy, risqué kind of a girl that you wanted to bring to a hotel room for an hour and leave her on the curb.

“We had completely different personalities, completely different characters. There was no professional jealousy at all. What it came down to is in all honesty, she’s really not a good person and that’s why I didn’t like her. She didn’t have any fans in the locker room and stuff because of her husband at the time, poor Marc. She said something in the girl’s locker room once that struck a really, really bad chord with me and Terri Runnels and from that day on, nobody had respect for her.

“Basically it was this. She used to bring her eight year old daughter Mariah on the road. I knew that Marc Mero wasn’t Mariah’s dad. So I asked her one day in the locker room in front of Terri Runnels, where’s her real dad? She said oh, you know. He died when she was an infant. He was in a car accident. I said oh my God, I’m so sorry to hear that. This was her reply and this is why I lost all respect for her. She says no, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, because if he never would have died, I never would have met Marc.

“So she said that about her husband and her baby’s father. That the best that ever happened to her was him dying so she would be able to meet Marc. And right then and there I lost all respect for the woman. I mean, that’s just the most selfish, cruel, horrible, inhumane thing to say. You should never be happy that someone that’s that important in your life died. It was just horrible.

“Terri and I looked at each other like did she just say what we think she just said? And from that day on, that’s where she kind of buried herself with her personality and in the locker room with everyone because words got spread around and nobody had respect for her.

20

According to the medical examiner in Collin County, Texas, Bourne had “high levels of the opiates morphine and hydrocodone” at the time of his death. The medical examiner explaiend:

Video: John Cena & Nikki Bella Talk About The Future Of Their Relationship

49

TMZ.com has released a teaser clip from the upcoming season of the “Total Divas” reality show – featuring WWE Champion John Cena and Nikki Bella talking about their romantic relationship.

While Brie Bella and WWE superstar Daniel Bryan are “ring shopping” and talking about their futures together – Nikki Bella wants to know where she and John Cena are headed.

After going through an ugly divorce earlier this year, Cena sounds reluctant to commit to anything longterm with the WWE Diva.

“Both marriage and family are difficult obstacles for me.”

“I feel so s—– because there are certain things I can’t give, but you make me enjoy life.”

This is a much different John Cena than we’re used to seeing on WWE television and it’s interesting to see this more personal (yet still “reality television”) side of him.

“Total Divas” premieres on July 2nd on E! Here’s the video footage:

Curtis Axel Responds To His Critics, RVD’s Upcoming Schedule & More

21

– Curtis Axel spoke to the Phoenix New Times this week to promote that August 26th episode of RAW from Phoenix. In response to criticisms that his promo work needs improvement, he said:

“I don’t know where that comes from. I just never really have a chance to talk. Now that I’m shown more on TV, I’ll have more of an opportunity. People say what they want just from one little rumor, so I don’t pay attention to any of that crap, what people say about me. I just do my thing and I know what I can do and I do well, and I don’t let that stuff worry me.”

– Former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler will appear on tonight’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on NBC. Also on the show tonight are Jeff Bridges and John Stamos, who will be reuniting his band “Jesse and The Rippers” from the TV show Full House.

– Rob Van Dam is being advertised for the first two episode scheduled for the first two WWE RAW shows after SummerSlam (8/19 from Anaheim, CA & 8/26 from Phoenix, AZ). He’s also booked for WWE’s upcoming live events tour of Australia, so he appears to be working a pretty active schedule.

Chris Sabin Crowned New TNA World Heavyweight Champion

35

Chris Sabin defeated Bully Ray to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion at the TNA Destination X themed edition of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV on Thursday evening.

Ray worked over Sabin’s surgically repaired knee throughout the match. The Aces & 8’s came down to interfere, but the new Main Event Mafia also ran down to even up the odds.

With both factions ringside, the referee was bumped after Sabin hit a top-rope missile droplock. Ray is handed a hammer and both factions end up brawling. Ray misses with the hammer and goes for a power bomb, but Sabin takes the hammer and uses it on Ray to pick up the pinfall victory.

Sabin tweeted the following on Friday:

More MAJOR TNA Roster Cuts Coming! [YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHO ..]

(Spoilers) TNA Impact Wrestling Taping Results For 7/25/2013

11

The following spoiler results come from Brandon Cayton and PWInsider.com:

Explosion:

Eric Young defeated Wes Brisco.

Impact for 7/25/13:

Hernandez vs. Mr. Anderson: Anderson wins with the Mic Check.

Ultimate X match for the X Division Championship: Manik vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Greg M. – Manik wins in a really fun match. Crowd was behind Manik for most of the match.

Main Event Mafia came out for a promo. They say they are not done with Aces and Eights. They bring out Chris Sabin, who addressed the crowd. He challenged the winner of the Ultimate X match “later tonight” to a match next week in a champion vs. champion match. Bully Ray came out with his attorney to say they are filing a lawsuit if the title isn’t returned to him.

Velvet Sky came out to cut a promo on Mickie James. Mike Johnson doesn’t get her but we sure did. She is staying out for…

Mickie James vs. Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship: The crowd was behind ODB as she officiated the match. The finish came when Mickie went outside and Gail slapped ODB, only to get rolled up by Mickie when she came back in. After the match, Gail got in ODB’s face and Brooke Hogan came out to remind Gail that ODB is still an active competitor.

Bound for Glory series match: Christopher Daniels beat Samoa Joe after Mr. Anderson came down and distracted Joe.

AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy is the main event. Huge pop for Hardy when he comes out. Excellent back and forth match that saw AJ Styles win by submission.

Overall this was a fun show. There was a lot of action and it went by quickly. This was the first show I’ve been to since they came to St. Louis for Lockdown a few years ago.

More SHOCKING TNA Roster Cuts Coming Soon! **DETAILS HERE**

*Spoilers* WWE SmackDown Tapings Results (7/19)

15

The following results are from Zack Zimmerman and ProWrestling.net:

WWE SmackDown

The building is packed. It’s not sold out, but like 7/8 full.

The show opened with Teddy Long in the ring. He announced that Vince McMahon was in the building to give him a job evaluation. He asked if the crowd thought he should be the permanent GM. The crowd responded positively. He said this would be the best Smackdown ever.

Booker T’s music hit and he made his return. Booker T thanked Teddy but said he would be resuming the general manager duties. Enter Vince McMahon, who said there can be only one. He asked what they have to offer. Teddy announced Curtis Axel vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title. Booker announced Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton.

Enter Brad Maddox, who said he already thought of those matches, and announced the Smackdown return of Rob Van Dam. Big pop. Vince teased all three and announced that the new Smackdown general manager is Vickie Guerrero. Big heat and “No!” chants followed. Vickie cut a promo about how she’s back and she hates all of us. Nuclear heat.

1. Dolph Ziggler beat Jack Swagger (w/Antonio Cesaro and Zeb Colter). Ziggler won after hitting the Zig-Zag in about four minutes. Cesaro and Zeb were sent backstage after Cesaro pulled Ziggler off the apron into his uppercut. Post match, Ziggler cut a quick promo about dumping AJ. He said he should’ve done it sooner.

AJ was watching backstage with Big E and went nuts. She beat up a chair and even attacked Big E. Eventually, he hugged her and they had a moment. They were about to kiss when Langston pulled away and kissed her on the forehead.

There was a non-televised entrance for The Shield. The Uso’s microphones didn’t work for their entrance. It was really staticky. Is that a word? it is now.

2. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. The Usos never started because Dean Ambrose ran in. Mark Henry made the save to a huge pop. Babyface turn. The Shield retreated back up the stands and the babyfaces held the ring.

3. Daniel Bryan beat Wade Barrett via LeBell Lock in about 5:00. Unbelievable reaction for Bryan. Huge pop, arena-wide “Yes!” and “Daniel Bryan” chants. No need for audio sweetener with this great crowd tonight.

Miz TV with Paul Heyman. Epic non-response for Miz’s entrance. Great heat on Paul. Paul put over Brock Lesnar and offered Punk a piece of advise: “Stay down.” Paul threatened that if Punk ever showed his face again, he would be be victimized by Brock Lesnar. More brilliance from Heyman. Miz was lame, then he left.

On his way up the ramp, Heyman interrupted Miz leaving and brought out Curtis Axel. He and Miz exchanged looks but passed each other on the stage.

4. Curtis Axel (w/ Paul Heyman) pinned Chris Jericho in about 10 minutes to retain the Intercontinental Title. Decent back and forth match that Axel won with his hangman’s facebuster. The crowd went bonkers for Jericho’s offense (the pop on The Walls being applied won’t be sweetened. Unreal). There seemed to be no connection between Axel and the crowd. Post-match, Ryback came to the ring and hit Jericho with the Meat Hook and Shellshocked.

Damien Sandow came to the ring. He said he didn’t screw Cody, so he couldn’t understand why Cody attacked him Monday. However, he wasn’t going to spew angry rhetoric at Cody, because that’s what makes him different from us. He said he and Cody were still best friends, and he invited Cody to join him in the ring.

Cody entered and Sandow said he forgave Cody. He offered Cody a “metaphorical olive branch” in the form of the offer to be the “guardian of the case. Cody, you earned this.” Sandow said. Cody attacked Sandow, but Sandow quickly escaped and ran to the back. Unimpressive reactions for Cody.

5. Rob Van Dam beat Darren Young (w/Titus O’Neil). RVD won with the Five Star Frog Splash in about five minutes. A showcase match for RVD, who used all of his standard spots.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero had security remove Teddy Long from the building.

A brief graphic hyped that Big Show would be making his return to Raw this Monday.

6. Randy Orton pinned Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. Orton went over clean after an RKO in about 10 minutes. What you’d expect from these two. I still don’t like how frequently champions lose non-title matches. This was the end of Smackdown.

Dark Main Event

1. Daniel Bryan, Rob Van Dam, and Randy Orton beat The Shield in a six-man tag. The babyface trio went over in about seven minutes when Rollins tapped out to the LeBell Lock.
